It seems Spring has come a little early this year and since the rains have started to wash the salt away, it's time to start talking about a road trip. I saw my first street-sweeper cleaning the shoulders of 495 tonight and figured I should post up the thread. The rest is just boilerplate by now but give it a read if you are new or getting old and forgetful

Here's the current planned route: (MAP) The trip is out to the Shenandoah, a cruise along Skyline Drive, then back to Old Bust Head.
As per our usual, we will be starting the trip at a breakfast establishment (IHOP @ 7495 Iron Bar Ln, Gainesville, VA 20155) for everyone who is interested to get some grub. This gives us the opportunity to show up at more flexible times. If you want to eat, make sure you are there with enough time to get your bill taken care of before we leave the parking lot. Departure time will be 10am, even if you aren't there for food make sure you are there EARLY. We'll be standing around chatting anyway and if you are late you run the risk of us leaving without you. Then you will have no other choice but to try and catch us up after we've already woken up all the law enforcement with our loud exhausts.
Remember: These meets are more about the people then the cars. Having your car be down for service is part of owning an Rx-7. Feel free to show to the meeting spot and grab a ride along with someone else, or if you want to drive along with us in something else that is cool too.
Once you decide that you are in, vote for the date you are interested in. Also, list your screen name and real name below, along with what day you are interested in, so I can have a running tally of who is showing up.

why are DGRR dates on there but the following weekend is not? i'll be at dgrr for the 14-17th and back again the following weekend for c30's at the dragon, so the 30th gets my vote!
Maybe, just maybe; I'm hoping to have my FD back in time from having the engine rebuilt to make it. I am confident I will have a running RX-7 in 2016 because getting the work done isn't up to me!
Rocky - Thanks for organizing the get together again. Two things about the pole though: 1) when I went to vote (I was going to vote on several of the 6 dates) it would only allow me to choose ONE DATE because when chose a second date it negated the first. Thought it was some limitation of my tablet so switched to full featured PC, but same result. Since I never voted on your pole before I figured it might work differently so - I tried voting for one date and coming back to pole to vote again, but it says YOU HAVE ALREADY VOTED ON THIS POLE so apparently that is it. Noticed you now have 3 votes for April 30 and no other votes, so I believe it is doing this to us all and needs a fix and start over so all can vote for multiples as you intend. 2) notice that pole end date is May 4; figure you meant April 4, the Monday before first listed trip date. I voted 30th as well due to having that last week off as of now. Not sure how some of my extra obligations are going to pan out, but should have weekends off at least.
nBilly, must not have clicked the right thing to allow multiple voting, sorry I'm running on very little sleep. I'll have to get a mod to fix it.
Shoobs, because since I set the trip up, I usually choose dates that I am available. I'm not even sure I can make these this year, but the ones I chose are the ones that I am most likely going to be available. needless to say, I wont be making DGRR this year
Rocky - since 9 have voted already for only one date by default, if you get a mod and fix it and don't start the voting from the beginning - your results will be askew. If I just stated the freaking obvious, my bad ! ! Bill

The 16th & 17th are no-go's for me, since I'll be at DGRR that weekend. Depending on what gets selected, I might be game for one of the other weekend dates.
