It's that time of year again, one last cruise before most people start putting away the cars for the winter. If you have been along for the cruises before, you know what they are all about. If you have not, check out some of the previous trips (HERE,HERE,HERE, HERE, and HERE)
Last year we did the trip "Tour de DC" style. It was a success despite last minute changes to avoid the MCM 10k that just happened to be scheduled the same day (very unprofessional of them to not ask us if we'd be using the streets first). I have not given this course a dry run yet so I don't know the current conditions of the roads. Also, dependent on whether the government shut-down is still going on, some of the roads may not be open since they go through federal parkland. With the uncertainty of everything I am going to suggest a different route this year.
I have not had the chance yet to plot a course but I am leaning to the one we took during the spring which was out to Shenandoah, a cruise along Skyline Drive, then back to Ashburn for some beer at the Lost Rhino Brewery. Here's the MAP. As always I am open to more suggestions, We've been doing a lot of cruising in Va recently so I'd like to devise a good route in MD but I am unfamiliar of the roads/destinations. If you have some good ideas either send them to me or make a map yourself and if I like them I'll either re-route this cruise or incorporate them into future ones.
As per our usual, we will be starting the trip at a breakfast establishment for everyone who is interested to get some grub. This gives us the opportunity to show up at more flexible times. If you want to eat, make sure you are there with enough time to get your bill taken care of before we leave the parking lot. Departure time will be 10am, even if you aren't there for food make sure you are there EARLY. We'll be standing around chatting anyway and if you are late you run the risk of us leaving without you. Then you will have no other choice but to try and catch us up after we've already woken up all the law enforcement with our loud exhausts.
Remember: These meets are more about the people then the cars. Having your car be down for service is part of owning an Rx-7. Feel free to show to the meeting spot and grab a ride along with someone else, or if you want to drive along with us in something else that is cool too.
Once you decide that you are in, vote for the dates you can show. Also, list your screen name and real name below so I can have a running tally of who is showing up.

I'm totally in, but I'm going to Uganda on Oct 23rd and won't be back until the 5th. The prior weekend is a little booked already, so I prefer November. I completely understand if that doesn't work out though!

I'm interested in going, Just need an answer from the wifey for what day works best to get a baby sitter. How long does all of this take? I'm in the philadelphia area so it's almost a 3 hour drive to get there

It is usually an all-day affair if you do the full cruise. IIRC we left Rhino around 4-5 in the spring. Some people who had other things going on and left after lunch in Front Royal. You are free to leave whenever you need to if you have other commitment. Sorry about the distance, we will try to plan something closer in the future. Maybe a trip up to Cecil County drag strip or something.
