Lucky. I'm just over 100k on the body and unknown on the engine, but probably nearing it's last legs.

Yes you must attend. Good chance to meet cool people who just so happen to love rotarys.

I can do the 9th but may have to leave a little early. My wife is planning some sort of get together at my house I probably need to be at.

One way to get around is to trade your FD for my FC. It is emissions exempt.

If you have some good ideas either send them to me or make a map yourself and if I like them I'll either re-route this cruise or incorporate them into future ones.
I've had no further suggestions.

I normally avoid skyline drive when on the bike.

How about:
1 - Starting from the sheetz in 15315 Washington St, Haymarket, VA
2 - 55 west (John Marshall HWY)
3 - ‎LEFT on 688 (Leads Manor Rd)
4 - LEFT on 211 (HIGLY enforced speed limit, just like Skyline drive)
* From here, we can stay on 211 till hitting 81 highway,or make a u turn on 211 after the skyline drive entrance, or take 340
5 - Right on 340 (Stonewall Jackson HWY)
6 - Back to 66

Sorry, I am not savy with mapping routes on google map. From memory, the above route is about 60 miles door to door from the Sheetz in haymarket. Most of the route is rural, free of cops, and plenty of turns.

The 211 section where it crosses skyline drive is AMAZING, 3-6 miles of turns going up and then down. I love this part of the route!!

Nice pic Rocky! I have been driving around the FD in this brisk weather and wondered what happened to the Fall Road Trip....I'm glad I didn't miss it! I need to check in on this website more often....with the new iPhone app it shouldn't be a problem now right? Hope all is well with everyone!

Saying that, I work on Saturdays....so I'll try to come out after work, at least for the end of trip festivities at the bar. Unless it rains and it's pushed back to Sunday, which I'll attend fully if I'm in town. I'll make sure to check the site for updates!

Well done organizing as always NE social chair!

Hi Duc, sorry for the delayed reply, I read your post when I was too busy to write a sufficient length response. I completely forgot to come back to it until I saw a FD on the road today. I was waiting at the light in my DD when it turned onto the 495 entrance from Van Dorn. It was a non-factory paint blue with chrome rim and gunmetal gray wheels. I'm pretty sure I know who that was, but in any case it reminded me that I needed to respond The funny part was I just had mine out yesterday for a shakedown. I need to start driving it more again....

Anyway, great to hear from you and hope that you can make it out even if it is only for the bar time. Also, without you there on the trip I might be able to keep these guys near the speed limit. hehe. Oh well, sorry it didn't workout for your work schedule this time, maybe for the spring trip.

Regarding the Social Chair comment ->

Elio, Thanks for the suggested route. I'll have to give it a dry run at some time when I feel like going out for a drive. I may incorporate some of it in the future. Also, I agree about the 211 portion up the mountain. That is where we enter Skyline drive and is almost always everyone's favorite part of the trip. If you like that area, there is another good one out 33 into West Virginia that I've always wanted to do in the 7. It is just a little too far for a cruise since so many people drive so far just to get to the starting point as it is. To ask them to drive another 5 hours on top of it is just a bit too much. And unfortunately, we cant do it in the fall because I think they might already get snow by then out there. Some spring we'll do it. Someday...

Also, I am not too concerned with cops because we will be doing the speed limit (or, near enough) the whole trip. Our cars all make too much noise and draw too much attention to do anything but drive the limit. Personally, I am against street racing as it can end very poorly for not only those involved but also innocent bystanders. I've also never had near as much fun out on the street as I have had at an Autocross, a Drag Strip, or a Race Course anyway, so it really isn't even worth it to me. Now, I'm not saying no one can have any fun on the trip, just that we will be keeping the average pace slow enough so that even Wes can keep up

Agree 100%! RT33 is SUPER awesome, thats my "long route" on the bike.

I am/was more concerned with the exhaust sounds than us breaking the speed limit. Seems like cops on 211/Skyline drive are itching to issue tickets out

I vote we end up at a brewery in MD because I have to be home by 3 and the closer we are to my house the more beer time I get
