Matt, sorry about not getting over there to take the compression BUT it looks like it came out to be the worst case we discussed. Man, I hate that feeling! Sorry to hear. Trial by fire baby with this car.

And the reason rear rotors go out in the 13bt besides the abuse from fuel cut is the rear rotor runs slightly leaner due to the intake runner design. Mazda improved the S5 UIM by raising the two rear runners silghtly higher for increases air flow(compare a S5 TII UIM to a S4, you will see the difference) but it still posed a problem. The FD's LIM has some refinement that is pretty obvious since the UIM is uniform but the problem is fixed due to engine port design and runner length .

Any luck finding a DD?

Let me know if you need to get over here and order a rebuild kit. I have that whole list of NECESSARY parts that make the order about 850.00

I leave for Iraq on March 1st and will be back April 27th. I will be starting my rebuild then. Maybe we can do a double rebuild. I will be taking about two weeks of leave so I will have the time.

All I have left on my car before the rebuild is to weld in the flex pipe to the pre siliencer. Fuel system is done and I don't know what to think. I used JEGs push loc hose with AN fittings. Looks decent(the blue lines are bright in color and look a little ricey) but I regret not doing SS lines. Will probably look better with everything finshed and painted. Modding the intercooler piping was a bitch but clears the hood now. I sill want to get my RB springs on before I leave but time will tell.

How is everybody else. Oh and **** this weather!

Shouldn't be an issue, I'm looking at using a Haltech system. Also a different turbo w/external wastegate. Most if not all the stock harness will be gone.

I was thinking about rebuilding mine. But I was also thinking about goin the Mazda Reman way too. Benefit of rebuilding it myself is that i can make a "copy" of your port design and run off that. Its also "cheaper" than most of the alternatives. And the benifit of goin the reman way is that everything is on mazda specs and all in "tolerence" to the minimum specs and rebuilt professionally with all correct torqs and all new needed parts. I dont know yet. Havent even started to pull the motor yet. Though it would only take like a day to have it pulled. The thing is that i dont know if the motor is even usable depending on what the rotors and housings look like. It could just be a cracked apex seal. But I know if i want to go with the reman and i dissamble the core they wont take it as a core. So im not sure yet. I know I already miss the beast. But should be done around this summer. Oh for a DD im getting a first gen from Ransom. I know it may not be the best thing to do but its a 12A ha ha, pretty tuff things. Not gonna be rodding it, its just gonna be a DD. And spend money fixing the Sport T. Another car will help me save money for my project. Well just have to get the other car out of the garage and clean the garage out then start tearing down and building back up. Well whenever anyone is doin sumthin tell me and everyone else. Talk to you guys later.

Wisdom teephs are out. Socket Grafted. Not in anywhere near as much pain as everyone made it out I would be. Guess we will see what tommorow brings.

That Radiator come In today Matt? I am most likely going to work tomorrow so If you want we can get that **** done after I get off around 5. We need hardware from ACE Motor oil and a lil peice o gasket material for the OMP blockoff. Oh and maybe a lil chunk o hose for the lower rad to heater core.

I just got a better offer on the car too. Someone offered me a Crx si and $400 bucks for it just a couple minutes ago haha. I told them to late its gone. Thing needs a headjob and a few other things anyway. Would have to put more into the CRX then i would of had to put into the FB

Well the radiator comes in tomorrow. So when you get off you can give me a call. And we can get that car goin. And I finally got a price on the reman. $2650 and the core alone was and extra $1000 on top of that, so it would have been around $3650 without core. Almost thinkin about rebuilding it myself ha ha. I'm pretty sure I capable of doing it. But anyways just give me a call when your ready. I'm off tomorrow.

You guys got a shot load of money to blow eh?

Remans are nice and give a warm fuzzy feeling but rebuilding yourself will cost MUCH MUCH less! It is NOT hard to rebuild a motor, you just need patience and percision tools for clearences. Plus think of the things you could buy with that extra cash you will save.

I always try to tell my self that my car will not contribute to debt. It is a horrible feeling when that pretty big $ for a car blows up(subjective of course) and is one of the most expensive paper wieghts you have ever owned.

Matt, if you are feeling apprehensive about doing the rebuild call me, I have something for ya that will help build your rotary confidence. These ******* engines are like stacking legos: mechanically inclined ages 16 and up.

It is your choice dude, just my 2 cents.

Cool about the FB. I giggled when I saw your post. If a daily driver is compared to a circle peg board, your FC was a square block and your new FB is the triangle block. They both have a hard time being DDs. Luckily for you there are only a couple more months of winter left. Cant wait to see how nice you will clean it up.

So, I also justed ordered some Summit 3 inch flex pipe for my exhaust. Got it in the mail yesterday and I don't know why the hell they call it flex pipe. **** is as stiff as an old man's pecker on viagra. Really does me no good now since I need some free movement for DP clearence issues. Looks like bending is now the new option. Full single turbo upgrade sucks ***...it is official. It better be worth it.

Kyle, what you been up to? What is in store for the future of your FC?

Ransom, I hope you are feeling well after the surgery. How you been bro? I hope the wife is good. What are you plans too for your FC?

Reason I ask about the rides is I might have a hook up from a guy in Japan right now that is in my shop at malmstrom that would be willing to pick parts from FC's in slavage yards and sell them dirt cheap to me(so to you guys aswell). Shipping will take about 6 weeks but will be worth it. Let me know if you have anything in mind you want.

Plans are Haltech with new coils etc. I am done with stock electronics and I am not going to go out and buy more used ***** to replace it. Other then that all I can really think of I am going to do this year to the car is Tires/Wheels. Maybe some larger secondaries and a Front Mount but for now just the Haltech.

The wife is great. I am doing just fine after muh teefs although I am still bleeding a lot 12 some odd hours later.

You take care over there Sean.

I really dont have any plans right now. I just want it to get nice out so that I can drive it again. I have been putting all of my efforts in to the corolla....trying to work out some of the bugs so that I have a very reliable DD. As for parts from japan I have always wanted to put infini seats or seat in my car but they are just so damn expensive!!!!

Yeah those seats are the **** and unfortunately our US drivers side are always gone. There are always plenty of Japan spec driver seats avaiable but they don't fit due to the different angled seat rail because of a slight bump in the floor board caused by the tranny bell housing.

I will tell him to keep his eye out though man. The seat won't be expensive but the shipping will.

Good to hear the stock EMS is finally pissing you off. I am going the Power FC way but am gonna replace quit a bit of the sensors just for security. My harness is OK but I am going to investigate a little deeper when it warms up.

Thank you for the good wishes bro, I will be fine over there. I think of it as a short trip to a giant sandbox.

Haha yeah maybe we should do a group buy on the haltech comes with everything you need even 4 wire o2 sensor. I will call them sometime if you haven't purchased the PFC yet. It's 1,564 or so for one so maybe I can get them to do 2 for a bit cheaper.

Just so I can try to get it apart so acess the damage if any serous. And I can go from there. And if I need a core for a reman or sumthin I bet I can find one if needed. But I just need to know where i stand with the block i have now. Alright, well let me know if you can get me those videos sometime soon Sean. And like always everyone keep us updated on what you been doin doenst really matter about what.
