Just Talked to Joe at Chaser Aero today. He said he has 50-60mm front fenders for FCs.

decided to put my $60 in LSx ignition coil clips to good use, and got a set of LSx coils.
maybe upgrade to MSD coils, with a 6al box soon but for now these will be on!

really need some advice regarding my vmount and what size core radiator i should use.

seems like my 4 core is just too much water for the water pump to move. my car is running so hot. i've done everything possible that i always do, and now it's just insane. goes right to 190 after about 10mins of idling/driving.

i have a $450 Derale fan that pulls like 4800-5400 cfm, flushed the system out, 160* thermostat. (runs way too hot without one still, and 180* tstat doesnt change anything either)

im sure my oil temps are high too but the only sketchy thing is my radiator. i got it used, knowing it was pulled from a car because it would run hot. me being stupid i grabbed it and assumed my setup was better and it did work cool for awhile but now its leaking, and seems plugged up. the fins/tubes inside are all smashed up looking from the heat so im sure its junk.

i wish i could get my defi oil temp gauge to work so i could see what the oil temps are...

Mine is just a koyo with modified inlet/outlet and a badass fan shroud. It works awesome, but vegas heat is even more intense than FL heat so IDK.

At Charlotte xdc it was like 95 degrees out and dudes would be spraying their **** down after the first run and I would cruise up to the line and wait on em like a dick head haha.

I also have 2 huge oil coolers and my oil temp stays real cool.

hahaha **** yea! i want that!
what cfm does your fan put out? i paid out my *** for a Derale 4800, or maybe 5400 cfm fan (i cant remember. think it was 5k+cfm) and it was awesome but now i think my radiator is just shitt.

i do need to get on mounting my oil coolers up front... are you running fans on either of them? i was thinking of running my one 30row with a fan, but idk if ill have to get my alternator rewrapped or not. i'm pulling hella current with my fan as it is... :/ plus strobess, and stereo kill.... lol

**** maybe i should just man up and make a quick shroud and see if it helps at all. i know i need one pretty bad.

honestly throwing on my oil cooler, and making a shroud might make it awesome again.

i swear ever since i hooked the turbo water line back up my car ******* boils....

I think it's only like a 2500cfm fan, but the shroud and good ducting made all the difference. Before the shroud I was having some issues. Yeah the water line to the turbo definitely makes a difference in cooling. Dan's turbo isn't water cooled, and my car always has higher water temps, but lower oil temps.

yea mine was always awesome before when i had the water feed blocked off. like it ran hot but i could atleast drift it and let it cool after a few runs... now it just raises like my tach everytime i do a pull...

im getting another radiator today. getting aluminum to make a shroud, and hopefully that helps if not then im going to have to pull my intakes back off, and reseal the water passage under the LIM... :/ **** not looking forward to that again..

Id say invest in a GOOD V-mount setup with a thick radiator and big fan with a large oil cooler and fan and of course a big alternator. I saw a 120amp one on the forum for sale....

Also make sure all the ducting is good and sealed off so all the air goes through the coolers. Try getting the ducting correct for more airflow when sideways... Try putting like 2 bottles of Water Wetter in the coolant too. That stuff is amazing... honestly will help...

lol have you seen my vmount setup? 4 core radiator, awesome ducting. i removed the top cooling panel to take photos, and the intercooler is vented out the hood vents by aluminum ducting.
my stock oil cooler is behind everything though just getting cooked. i know thats not helping, but inside the radiator all the tubes are smashed shut it looks like from the heat/use over the years i guess.

the water wetter thing i've done, but everyone always says "it helps drop temps" when really it doesn't it just raises the boiling point. ive never noticed any temp drops with any of that add in treatment stuff.

last year i was going through this too during the summer, and i bought a $60 gallon of some crazy nascar crap that "was supposed to drops the temps 15*" but long story short i ended up blowing my motor and draining it all out the same day hahaa

Weird cause ive always had good luck with that stuff..

Id say get a new radiator then. Maybe your water pump is shot. And get that oil cooler out of there! Thats killing the engine temps.

Ive seen em not leak with shot bearings. Ive seen the impeller on a brand new one slip on the shaft. Maybe you have a blockage in your system. Heater core? BAC water lines? Turbo water lines? ect...

if the radiator was ******* up on another car its probably the radiator. check for cool(er) spots on the radiator when its up to temp. sometimes this will let you know if there is a blockage in the core. Also i didnt see what you mentioned you were running for coolant. Straight water? 50/50 with anti freeze, water wetter and water? The desert heat is brutal, where i live i see similar temps. I run a Koyo and a stock fan with stock shroud, 50/50 coolant and sometimes i get warm but not too warm.

stock fan + shroud = <333. i miss my old stock setup like crazy.
i'm running distilled water with 3 quarts of "below zero" water additive it's some kind of $60 Nascar crap that i picked up from the circle track race shop out here.

it doesnt help. lol **** still boils as normal.
