Legally sanctioned racing section?
let people who want to race do it. natural selection is all it is. people **** with me all day long when i drive my car, but that doesnt mean ill bite back. just today i had some jackass in an RS+ pass me on the shoulder of the road because i was going the speed limit and wouldnt race him. too bad he missed the phone pole too. there was also some kid in a grand prix trying to get me to race him cause he heard my BOV. if it wasnt RAINING i would have showed his stupid *** up (on a highway mind you), but i have some bit of respect for the people around me.
all im saying is stop the fighting and let it be. arguing WILL NOT GET YOU ANYWHERE, it just adds to the already massive amount of stress most people have. just chill. smoke a ******* joint if you need to. im sick of all these threads turning into stupid fights.

I currently represent a person here in Canada charged with Criminal Negligence causing Death. I can’t say much about it other than that there were 3 cars traveling down a 2 lane road 3 wide where a pedestrian was hit and flung 20 feet from the roadway. The alleged driver probably did not expect a person to be walking on the hard shoulder of the highway. It only takes a split second for lives to change irreversibly. This person now has to deal with fact that someone has already lost their life and he/she could spend a significant portion of theirs in prison. Driving recklessly on the street is for immature morons that still think they are invincible.

Thank you. At least somebody knows where we are coming from.
That's a crying *** shame. All for the "thrill" of it all. Well, I hope you are "thrilled" when you meet Bubba in a 8x8 prison cell.
Kills section will stay like it is, or eventually it will be deleted completely. You can keep going on and on and on and on, you can make this thread 3billion posts, it won't change the matter at hand.
Thanks.

My question is why are you soooo concerned about your perception that we are wasting our time here? Are you just tired of reading all of it?
However, now I have a measurable goal for this thread. 3 billion posts, here we come!

LOL, wow Merlin I am truly ******* amazed that you went through the trouble of looking through my myspace
did you at least like it?
Once again I have and will continue to street race in the future, I have absolutely no problem with it. I used to go to the drag races all the time when I lived in VA every weekend and it was a blast, especially when people wrecked
I love highway racing and racing on twisty back roads, as stupid as it may be. Young and dumb right? I have yet to feel the excitement I get out of running my favorite twisty (3mi+) road or cornering at 110mph+ on highways at a driving event. I don't, however enjoy sharing my experiences with anyone other than my friends. I don't recall saying anything about drifting either
Initial D and Gone in 60 seconds are both badass movies, gone in 60 seconds shows fast street driving with exotics and Initial D shows the mountain racing scene in Japan. FNF is neither, its a horrible attempt by Americans to show what street racing with imports is all about.
And wolf_9782 you have pointed out the most basic of facts. I think I learned that within a few weeks of learning how to drive an automobile, but thanks. Looks like you didn't catch the sarcasm, that its useless to have a fast car to go to work unless you live in the boonies and have flat open roads with no lights or twisties, whichever you prefer. It was directed against the "I didn't build my FD to drive 30mph" comments since some people actually build fast cars only to drive them hard at legal driving events and street racing doesn't even cross their mind.

however if your going to use that logic
i suggest getting rid of, or heavly moderating the single turbo section, rotary performance, all the ems subforums, parts sections etc etc for anyone buying, selling, giving or trying to recivive information on non factory emmssions equipment that we are all using in our cars which ranges from a basic fix it ticket to fedral offences
all thoes ems's we use, illegal, non factory emmissoins, ported engines, new turbo's et cetc etc etc are defff not legal

+1 to speedoflife, some people should NEVER get behind the wheel of any kind of vehicle even if its a lousy moped.
its not just streetracing that is the cause of death on the highways of america. its also the civilians who have absolutely no business getting into a car, or got their driver's license from a crash test center. regular drivers kill people, streetracers kill people but its just that streetracing gets more attention since its an obvious infraction of traffic laws.
civie accidents revolve around beaters smashing into eachother because sometimes people dont know what red lights mean. they also dont know what a stop sign is. hell ive seen them drive straight with their blinkers on for 30 miles almost killing people leaving establishments or waitin at a stop in an intersection. if it aint that its a moron who enters a highway going 10mph about a car's length away from you because he automatically assumes "its ok this guy goin 60mph will stop for me...if not then ill just sue his *** for rear ending me!"
you could almost swear people cause accidents on purpose just to get their crack fix for the week with the amount of idiocy i see everyday. in our country there are a lot of lawsuit happy civilians just lookin for a way to make an extra buck and this includes regular traffic accidents. streetracing is illegal sure, but with the attitudes of other regular drivers it should be illegal for them to be given a set of car keys. i wouldnt even trust them with a BB gun much less a 50,000lb gas chugging monster SUV thats equipped for arctic tundra even tho it never snows down here.
with that said if there is to be no kills section due to its illegal nature and cause of DEATH (which is the main reason you guys changed the section)...then there should be no talk or condonement of any kind of driving in this forum because even driving legally will get you killed. if its not your fault, then its the drunk driver next to you or a guy who decides to drive stoned, or the next winner of natural selection.
it might even be a road rager who you managed to **** off just because you honked at him for cutting you off dangerously. a guy got shot full of holes by a road rager on a highway down here couple years ago for that reason, true story! guy just slowed down got into the other lane, rolled his window down and let fly with his 9mm killing the other driver for being honked at.
you do not want this forum to condone streetracing due to it being illegal and fatally dangerous which is understandable. however death does not adhere to the law. it comes for you whether you drive legally or you dont, thats how it is and thats how its going to be. but since streetracing is illegal that makes it completely alright to ban it from being spoken about even tho obeying the law can still lead to the same gruesome conclusion of one's life.

No. Highway 18 is a 4-lane road in the area Dave crashed. Its 4 lanes several miles up, and all the way into San Bernardino. There was a slow & fast lane, he wasn't crossing a double yellow to pass anyone.
The true irony of this is that on the way home from Dave's memorial cruise a few months back, one of my friends with a orange FD was going just a tad over the speed limit and had the rear end slide out on him during a sweeper almost at the bottom of the hill as we were leaving the spot where Dave passed away. He was able to get the car under control, but it really illustrated to me how easy it would be to get into a situation that Dave was in. He did like to drive "spirited" but I firmly believe that what happened to him in January was a simple unexpected oversteer. It wasn't a race, it wasn't Dave trying to push the envelope. This is why Dave's accident shouldn't be used as an example to show people the dangers of "street racing", FWIW.

everyone just change their stories, to happen on the track.
..." so we pulled up to the light...err, staging area..........gave each other a nod, and when the light.....uhhhh....."tree" turned green, we took off."
....lol, what a joke

.
And to the people that are offended by my comments about Dave. There are quite a few stories about what happened to Dave that night. If my perception is incorrect, I am sorry, but it would be off of posts made here in the thread about his death and the original accident report on it. Sorry if my idea of memorializing Dave was not acceptable to some of you.
And based off of the positive comments in this thread about the change, from responsible members of the forum here, I think we have made the correct choice in this change.

Wtf, this doesn't make any sense at all. So it's ok as long as we screw up the story enough by making vague references to the track, but you can't just put a dislaimer up saying the board doesn't condone street racing?
Which frankly I am rather surprised by... I thought we had a lot more kids on this forum.

I didn't even know there was a poll. But do you get what I'm saying? If it's all for show, why not just put up a disclaimer? If you don't want a lot of stupid posts, it doesn't make sense to force everyone to change their stories in some dumb way so that it references a track. And it's hypocritical to suddenly crack down on this when you have a rash of other posts about illegal activities on the rest of the board.

I wouldn't say it's hypocritical, we have to pick and choose which issues to tackle based on the resources we have available.
To make it even more subjective, threads will be closed based on content judged by the mod staff. If you have a problem with that well......I'm not sure what you would do.

So just for clarification. What if WE put a disclaimer at the top of every story saying "The following was conducted on a closed course. Street racing is illegal and the RX7Club does not condone it." Would that fly? Would we need to put that in our videos as well for the audio/video section?
It depends on the mods of the LSR kill forum......if they feel that enough responsibility was taken to make sure that risk to everyone was minimalized, it may slide. For example, I may feel that enough responsibility was exercised but if a fellow mod does not, then you guys are out of luck.
Obviously, random highway pulls do not count, nor do prospective races.
BTW, if you've read through every single of of the kill threads, they get boring quite quickly......
