Legally sanctioned racing section?

So the kills section has been changed? No more illegal street racing posts?

I'd like to see more drag racing and road racing threads.

There's enough people doing it.

Well, I'm sure it makes the board look responsible, which should make the new owners happy...but you've basically killed that section. Some of the most entertaining threads were in the kills section. Maybe give a sub-section for "less-than-legal" racing, too? I know it's a bit taboo, but to think that nobody on here or any other car forum races on the street at least once in a while is kind of naive.

Those that do it aren't going to quit doing it, now they just won't get to post about it. Why? So that the board can look responsible? Who, other than car enthusiasts, come to this board? It's not like there's some sort of message board governing body that's going to swing by and say, "Oh look, they talk about street racing, they don't get a gold star." And now, instead of dumbass kids like naimodo coming and posting stupid stories about racing and drifing, but then getting flamed to hell and back for being so stupid, they get nothing. There's no guidance or ridicule that makes them think, "Hey, maybe that WAS pretty stupid."

If you say we shouldn't make posts about it because it's simply not safe, neither is backing out your driveway, driving down the freeway, or changing a tire on the side of the road. But obviously if you look before backing out, pay attention to where you're going, and park a good ways away from the road, the chances of something happening are slim to none. The same goes for street racing, if you take the precautions, the chances of something going wrong are next to nothing. Could something still happen? Well yes, but that applies to nearly any situation involving any sort of action. But it's just plain illegal! So we should censor any post that has to deal with something illegal simply because it is? Hope you guys don't ever speed in your sports cars.

Explain why the board should support illegal activities such as unsanctioned street racing?

Pretty much, yeah.

Street racing is stupid, we all know that. By having that section we are agreeing to an illegal activity.

Nobody ever said that speeding was wrong, as long as you can control it. Speeding is illegal, yes. However, street racing, yeah. I would consider that much more dangerous and well, rather pathetic.

Keep racing on a track. Where you have emergency services available to you, and barriers setup for safety.

Its gonna happen.. its been happening since the invention of automobiles.. hell you can even go farther back to chariot races.. im sure there we a few "unsanctioned" street races even then.. its just a place to tell the stories. if you want we can go into the lounge and talk about the "dream" we had last nite about racing

you can always do like they do with the late night infomercial.. "the views and opinion expressed in this section in no way reflect the views and opinions of Internet Brands or Rx7club.com"

I wish it was that easy, all the tracks around here are pretty far from me and are very expensive to get onto, even the dragstrip requires us to get a bunch of safety equipment installed at our expense to even run.

Explain why having a section for it automatically means the forum supports it.

"Welcome to the Rx7club...where underage drinking, drugs, and pedophelia are accepted...but at least we don't street race!"

I'm not condoning the action, but it's going to happen whether or not the Rx7club has a section for it.

But if you want to run, you have to pay the price.

And holy jesus, let's not compare a section on a automotive forum to racing in the 60's and 70's.

Yeah, like a helmet.... Unless you're in the 10s, then you need a cage and 'chute.

As far as road courses, the nearest one to me is nearly three hours away. I make the trek regularly.

They aren't taking away the free speech you don't have.

They are simply showing that they don't condone it.

And don't make excuses.

is not freedom of speech when you sign to their user agreement.. they are a private buisness open to the public, they have the right to refuse any patrons or conversations they want.. same thing works in restaurants if they dont like the way you look or act, they dont have to serve you..

They aren't punishing you, are they? Is a secret police force knocking down your door because of it? No.

They just don't condone it, so they have changed the title.

Street racers are a stupid bunch that come up with a hundred excuses. Bottom line, you don't give a ****.

What are you talking about??? Don't give a **** about what??? So it's perfectly fine to break the speed limit by yourself, but if you do it next to another car you're a moron? Please explain the genius behind that logic.
