About safety, maybe.

...I don't really speed, at least not like street racers do. I have a hard time believing a street race happens at 70 mph in a 65, but that's just me.

Actually, it was brought up by myself, and a few of the other mods agreed, that actually race LEGALLY agreed it should either be deleted completely or the section renamed and given a different approach.

So in other words, if you don't like the new direction of the kills forum, you can either send me a PM or you can just not worry about it and go on with your life.

or whatever...

I do like the train of thought someone mentioned how if people go out and build unsafe driving practices, but then aren't allowed to post about it here, they may never reflect constructively on their mistakes (which were often brought to light in the kills section).

What if both guys next to each other at a stop light happen to want to do some independent road testing and just so happen to leave at the same time, and one of them ends up ahead. That would be a kill, a test kill, but not a race, right?

By the way, the rules don't actually state that you can't post non-legally sanctioned races. I should post up my two kills I had today. Two Hondas; all in good, clean fun.

well, i personaly didnt really ever view the kills section unless someone linked to it for some reason

however if your going to use that logic

i suggest getting rid of, or heavly moderating the single turbo section, rotary performance, all the ems subforums, parts sections etc etc for anyone buying, selling, giving or trying to recivive information on non factory emmssions equipment that we are all using in our cars which ranges from a basic fix it ticket to fedral offences

all thoes ems's we use, illegal, non factory emmissoins, ported engines, new turbo's et cetc etc etc are defff not legal

I'd hazard a guess and say that the entire 3rd gen section, most of the 2nd gen, and even some of the 1st have gone well beyond the legal speed limit. You can't say you've never gone more than 10mph over the speed limit. You own an RX-7, it's physically impossible. That being said, you don't do it through the middle of a residential area do you? Of course not. Do dumbass teenagers? More than we'd imagine, I'd wager. So when they do stupid things like that, who's going to berate them? If there isn't anybody around to witness it, like a cop who writes a ticket or somebody who knows the kids parents, who's going to correct that behavior? Nobody, until that same kid comes and posts about it on these boards, like Naimodo, who then gets flamed for acting like a moron. You say you don't want posts like that, well guess what, he's never come back to the board and I'd be willing to bet that he's never done anything stupid like that again.

You have to also look into county/city regulations as far as emissions go. So it's not very "illegal" now, is it?

We are'nt here to baby sit little moronic street racing punks. If somebody does something wrong, I would consider it natural selection when it comes to street racing. The dumbest thing you could possibly do.

And, now that I think about it, I never once took my RX7 over the speed limits when I had it. So thanks for the stereotype.

Sure everyone street races but the majority of the people that do are idiots and come to the kills section posting about how they killed "this fagget integra" or how they want to race their friend but are too afraid to do it so they want opinions on who'd win first. This means the sections usually full of BS and makes everyone look retarded.

I'm happy for the new kills section, I think its a great idea. I wouldn't mind if the "kills" section was removed altogether actually. Its more geared towards highway or stop light racing since those are the real "kills". I'm not going to brag about the lotus elise I ran faster than at my last autocross or a random car I passed at an HPDE. People with big egos feel better about themselves though when they run into another sports car at a red light and beat them, even though the person might not have been racing, have experience in drag racing, or his car might not be running 100%.

That's a pretty stupid way to look at it. If you could influence someone so that they didn't drift into a carload of kids, wouldn't you want that chance?

Yeah, I'm sure you've never broken the speed limit. If you really haven't, maybe you should consider owning a different vehicle, like a Camry or an Accord.

So you don't enjoy doing it or reading about it, there are still a lot that do. Not to mention there's more than streetlight racing posted in that section. I don't like the 2nd gen section, most of it's geared towards stuff I'm not interested in. Would I vote to have it abolished? Certainly not, there are plenty of other people who are interested in it and want to read about it.

I DD a Wrangler, and I have not had a running rotary for 4 years.

I think you misunderstood my post. The members of THIS forum should not have to tell somebody they are doing something wrong. Life is about learning lessons. If you kill somebody in the process, LESSON LEARNED!

Debate is pretty much done now, we are running in circles here. Section is staying the way it is, deal with it.

So what's next? You gonna censor anybody in california who talks about illegal equipment? How about the underage drinking and drug posts? Better yet, what about banning the guy that goes to Colombia to sleep with children? The section got changed because apparently YOU don't agree with it/like it and can't come up with any argument better than "it's illegal" or "I think it's dumb."

You don't have to break the speed limit if you own an RX-7, not even close. Most people have just taken up LEGAL forms of racing and usually commute in everyday cars. Its MUCH less of a hassle and it feels good to never have to worry about getting tickets or losing your license, and/or going to jail. As for highway or top speed racing, as exciting and as much fun as it is it has its price, one of them just happens to be not being able to share experiences in public message boards. I'm sure if you go to your local area's message board and attend meets you could find out where the street racing goes on and post on their private message boards instead. Thats how it was in VA, anyway. Hell, your local forum probably has a street racing section.

Don't get me wrong I love doing it (well, not on straight roads), I wouldn't have gotten into road racing or autocrossing had I never gotten into street racing. Testing alignment changes or suspension adjustments before a driving event involves "breaking the law". My point is just that most people that post about it are idiots and it makes it hard to navigate through the section. I just don't get the excitement behind telling others that you beat a certain car, share your modifications and enjoy the "nice kill" comments...Just goes back to my comment about people's ego's...

I guess I don't see what's wrong with being able to tell people about racing a Porsche and winning. That seems like something of an accomplishment. After my car gets tuned, I had fully planned to borrow a camcorder to tape my race against the local Lamborghini so I could share the kill/loss on here. I like hearing about racing stories, when written well, and I also like seeing the kill videos. Which leads me to another question, will the audio/video section also be censored so that the posting of videos involving street racing will be prohibited?

Racing a Porsche and winning is cool and all, if it's on a track. On a road, it's a hazard.

So not allowing me to post about it on the board is going to stop that?
