To what? It's more noticeable and looks a bit cheap now because theres no big wheel there to block your view straight to the ground. The mesh was sprayed body color. Besides, I was thinking about using the mesh to help secure some micro cameras to the car. I figured I can get some crazy cool angles and good shots(of the losers ) from those locations.

Thats the true nature of the color.

Check out the 2nd picture, the Diablo is as wide as the Smart car parked behind it is long!

you could take a peices of metal drill holes in it in a pattern and put it ther instead of the mesh and it would look completted instead of looking like an after thought.

Nice, didnt realize it was a lambo color. Still a great color choice and i'm sure the pictures cant even begin to do it any justice, especially if its anywhere as smooth as it wants to look in the pics.

I dunno man. A piece of metal with holes drilled in it seems like more of an afterthought to me. Probably wouldn't flow well either. I had thought of a putting in a metal insert that was 4 thin verticle slats, but never got a chance to try to make something of it. At some point I'll try something different. But for now I wanna see how the mesh works out.

You can get sheets of stainless steel with 1/4" holes punched in an offset grid pattern that will flow a lot of air and look nice, plus it will never rust.

I like the idea of the slats, the mesh looks like it will do for now though.

Ran into a minor roadblock with the hood struts I got from a GB here: http://forum.teamfc3s.org/showthread.php?t=56554

My body guy did everything he could to try to make these fit. But with the different fenders and different hood it would just not work. My body guy actually got quite frustrated with them and had to walk away from my car the other day cause he trimmed a bit of the finished inner fender lip under the edge of hood to try to make these fit, now he has to fix that and it was for nothin. These struts are nice, but the design makes them far from compatible with some after market hoods. I probably need a set like the Tein FD set that bolts to the hinges. Eventually I will probably just drive out to Redline Tuning in Michican and have them make me a custom set for me.

The new gas cap has been installed, and they were working on mounting the gas door cover. I don't have pics of that but I will when its all done.

Got the new sideskirt hardware installed. MMMmmm flush hex bolts...

They will be popped back out and the heads will be squirted with some body color. The center of the head where the wrench slides in will not be painted of course.

Both tow hooks fully installed after paint:

d1 canceled, nopi nonexistent, bugatti vert, skylines legally in the US, umbrella girls now have babies(hope'n non are mine), Ferrari chief designer dead (Andrea Pininfarina) and bernie mac hit the dirt,i mean WTFBBQ sauce covered bananas in the bunny mansion maaaaan

i have $5 that says the Olympics are going to over b4 this is finished....

...and i hope this 7 ends up either as a dyno queen or something, cuz id hate to see what would happen if this hits a wall...

If you're ever up here let me know. I'll take you for a ride... or walk if the car still isn't done yet!!

UPS delivered some goodies today!!

Tommorow I will stop by the shop again. The car was rolled back into the booth today to fix some stuff. I can't wait to show you guys the finished gas door setup. You guys will either love or hate it, but I think most will like it. Dunno if that will be ready to show off tomorrow though...

LoL! Well, my goal was 7stock. But I don't think I'll be making that, so I'm pretty sure that eliminates the Olympics... Next year though, for sure I will be there.

I'm just waiting for the body shop to tie up all the loose ends. Then its immediately to the interior\top shop. When I say immediately I mean it too. As soon as the body shop tells me they are done I will have a flatbed tow truck there within an hour to pick it up and drop it off at the interior\top shop. I can probably get in and out of the interior\top shop in a couple weeks. Then its on to the mechanical stuff which I have a couple friends that are going to be helping me through to speed up the process. I'm probably going to miss 7stock by a couple weeks.
