You noticed creep or spike? Bigger wastegates solve creep, better boost controllers solve spike.

^^You will always have to adjust the boost controller when the weather changes, doesn't matter if its a manual or electronic.

Its just alot easier to do with a EBC...once you learn how to program it.

You should not have to adjust an electronic boost controller. If you set it at 14psi, it should be regulating boost to 14psi no matter what temperature it is outside. A colder 14psi will make the car more peppy for sure, but that doesn't mean you should adjust the boost controller. The ECU should be handling the difference in air temperature, that's why there is an air intake temperature sensor.

I believe this to be correct. The EVC has a reference sensor. Based on this reference it calculates the corrected set gain and offset by the user. This allows consistent boost no matter the ambient temperature.

Some ebc's may be a simple electronic adjusted valve. In that case I can see that a lack of reference would create a situation of needing to be adjusted
with temperature changes.

I find with the profec b I use, I have to adjust the gain a little between a 90 degree day and a 40 degree night, with the temp change you normally get a lage change in Barometric pressure( same reason you have to adjust a MBC). Talking minor adjustments maybe 2-3 percent on the gain, but it will change. I have had a 35r with a EBC on my car since 2005, its what I noticed in the last 65,000 miles I put on my FD... Maybe the hks is a little smarter.

Generally an exteral EBC is not getting a signal from the air intake sensor so thats kinda a moot point.

Nice side mirrors man. Beautiful car.

What pulleys did you use? I'm thinking about going resonated midpipe and I still have my stock twins, but I do believe I need to remove my airpump also.

^Thanks buddy. Absolutely can't wait to get this thing painted! I was at the Chris Carlisi BBQ this past weekend and saw a lot of really nice cars. Though one thing I didn't see, were Ganador mirrors.

Agreed on the EBC. After dialing in the HKS, it's just like the profec. A little tweaking in weather is likely required. The sensor is utilized for the warning feature. It does control very well with no surprises. My T3 35R hits so fast, I have to back off my Overboost below 19psi. I can pretty much run 0 offset and response and it holds it right a 23.5psi. On a cool day, I can see it spiking a little. I've been utilizing the 2nd second setting for experimentation.

Overall, I'm very pleased with it.

Operation Detail

As the winter approaches, I have some big plans for the FD. Paint will be happening this coming Spring with the addition of my new body pieces. With this, I am going to finally finish my engine bay. The list will likely grow, but I have a relative idea of what needs to happen before the exterior is painted.

- Engine bay being painted
- Full wire tuck with Ryewire
- More Ceramichrome!
- Complete engine bay detail work. (painting, polishing, tucking, and cleaning EVERYTHING)
- 35R getting inspected and possible new CHRA
- Full ducting for my Vmount
- Quality security system
- Oled Commander
- All white lit LED gauges including OEM cluster.
- Getting my EGT probe in the manifold where it belongs.... duh.
- Datalogit so I can start fine tuning and DATALOGGING!

Thanks all!

The wife just signed off on paint before it gets cold, so she's going to the shop in a few weeks. Time to start pulling everything off the engine walls for paint. WOOT!

Should have no problem making DGRR 2013 with new BLING!!

I'd like to paint before winter as well, that way it can sit all winter without any damage to the paint.

I think its funny when people waste their time and make a thread and then delete their photos from their photo host. Then the thread becomes useless.

Thanks for the thoughtful and friendly reminder.

I was organizing my photobucket a few days ago and forgot about my thread links. I'll get those fixed.

UPDATE:

Started pulling the engine bay apart today. It should be ready to head to the paint shop by next week. Pulling everything off the bay walls and firewall for fresh paint.

Very excited to see my new body pieces installed with a proper base coat clear coat!!

As far as the bay goes, as mentioned I will be changing things up a bit. Not only am I trying to make everything as clean as possible, but more functional. With this, the intercooler is getting positioned for a more filter friendly setup.
