RHD 7 yes or no
i know someone is gonna flame me for this thread, but i decided to post any ways.
my question is, is it worth it to buy a RHD 7, with roughly 20k kilometers on the chassis, with about the same on the engine..would i need to change out parts to ensure the reliability of the car, or since the mileage is small compared to most FDs out there i should be ok? if someone is wondering, the price of the car is roughly close to 15k. all this info is taken with trust in the other party.
I AM A NOOB, so flame all you want... i need to learn sometime... also, i do have a mechanic/tuner close by my house.... actually 2 blocks away... that could help with the car

heh good luck registering your FD in the US if thats where you live.. Could be used for a track only car but for 15k not worth it.. Also let me tell you this before people begin to rip this thread apart, use the 'Search button' you'll answer just about any question you come up with and more..

about the whole registering part... from the other party, an importer, im taking there word for it that the car will be registered under my name after purchase, and will be completely street legal for me to drive daily.... also they say i can sell it and the next owner can register it too.
it is a 94/95 i forget, but the importer assures me that the mileage on the car is correct and true... even to me it seems too good to be true, this is why i need opinions

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
If it was easy and cheap to bring RHD FD's into the US, plenty of people would be doing it. As it is, it isn't easy or cheap, and in many cases it flat-out is probably not possible. I seriously doubt you could actually register the car and legally drive it on the streets with a license plate, insurance, etc.
Spend your money on a nice, quality US FD. For $15,000 you can get one in really nice shape.

A list of approved importers is available here:
http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/...t02012005.html
If your company is not on this list, they are not legally able to do what they are claiming and you may end up with a very expensive lawn ornament.

Just to let you all know of a very RECENT incident of someone getting screwed.
http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthre...b=5&o=&fpart=1
Coincidentally enough...an individual from said company (Evolution Imports)...was on here selling RHD RX-7s. Forum name was: evolution_imports. (Seems we may have deleted his user name, but I distinctly remember calling this individual).
This proves that we did indeed have an "evolutions_imports" on this forum.

I do have to give the kid credit because he knew he was going to be flamed unlike the idiot in the last thread. Next time, I will not be so kind. Expect to get five slaps right across the eyes.

how about this question. i've heard that if your car doesn't pass the manditory inspections in Japan, you can't get the Japanese Compulsionary (SP? sorry, not an english major) Insurance, which from what i've read is alot like registration over here. also, i've heard that it's damn near impossible to get JCI once you've failed inspection once, so instead of going through all the hassle, people just send their cars to the scrap heap and buy a new one, and this is our source for front clips. i was wondering if it'd be worth while to go to japan, buy 3 or 4 FD's, have them imported to the US as parts cars so you don't have to have them pass crash tests or emissions, and part out everything that is compatible with USDM FD's? (just a hypothetical situation, i'm not even sure if what i've said makes any sense, this is just what i've heard about why we have alot of front clips imported, maybe not FD or Cosmo clips, but like ITR/CTR, some Skyline clips, etc.)
