ok i didnt read all the posts but im a going to put my .02 in

rice=non-performnce upgrade or enhnacement to imply that your car is something it is not

eg- all the honda guys with dx motors that put dohc vtec stickers...that motor is a sohc 1.5l 8v non vtec...that is a poser....err loser

also scoops that let air in but do not feed a ram air or intercooler would have a negative effect if any.....the object is to get all that air out of the engine bay and therefore help cool it down....

SOOOOO those of you with tII hoods on n/as are hurting your performance for the sole purpose of looks b/c there are lightwieght na hoods and there is also a thing called fiberglass for those of you claiming that your trying to drop wieght...why drop wight if your just going to increase air pressure and temp than it cancels each other out and makes the whole mod pointless.......

so to recap:stock stickers, emblems, unique/defining body pieces, etc that are designed to make people think that your car is better than it really is and that do not enhance performance are rice

motor swaps, rear end swaps, susp swaps, brake swaps, etc are performance enhancers and are not rice

Well rice all depends on the person's personality and their reason for putting it on. If they put it on for "show" then it's not rice, but if they claim that it's for performance when it's clearly impeeding performance. Then that my friend is rice. Now if it's a reverse scoop hood then it wouldn't be impeeding performance.

this theard is nutz.. you all have the same concept of rice yet your still arguing... But the arguement is nutz too... your sole arguement is that anything that makes your car look like something it's not is Rice.. so using an N/A aluminum hood on a TII to be a sleeper is Acctually Rice? cuz you want people to think your TII is N/A? explain this to me. personally i wouldn't put a TII hood on my N/A i'd rather wait to find a N/A alum.

i cant really see the T2 hood on an N/A as rice. it gives the car a mean look that the smooth hood doesnt. i know if i had an N/A, even a vert, id scrounge a T2 hood up and slap it on the car. it just plain makes the car looks better. somethin tells me that RarestRX is a diehard N/A fan and he doesnt like to see his beloved N/A cars burdened with the hoods from those nasty T2s

Yo,

It's not that, it's just that you said it yourself: T2 Hood. Which hood? A T2 Hood. Do all these NA's that have T2 hoods on them...are they T2's? Nope. They're NA. Why pretend to be something you're not? Especially when it's a faster model you're trying to copy.

I still think it's weaksauce.

i cant believe this dried up old argument is still going. who gives a **** about rice anymore, if a car looks good it looks good, no matter what is on it. if you think the TII hood looks good, you are right, and most people would agree. so shut the hell up, i get tired of seeing this thread

i think some people just think its a good looking hood. regardless of what car it came on, people like the hood. most probably arent trying to copy the T2 or trying to be something they arent. they just want to make their car look better, at least in their eyes. and the T2 hood is a very good looking hood.

Thumbs down

Personally I don't like the look of that hood, neither in a TII. If I had a TII I will change the intercooler to the front so I could change the hood to a NA. THe NA hood looks more smooth...

I own a 88TII and if I see any of you n/a's with a TII hood I will stop and remind you how gay you are. There are a lot of cool looking hoods you can get for your car. **** if you want to make your car look cool get a hood no one else has and don't pretend to be something your not.

it IS a stock hood.. like it isnt made by APC or something and it looks nice. Thats like saying if you wanted 91 rear lights on your 88.. who cares. Be glad TII's came from the factory like this and they exist or you will have people putting those Stick on hoodscoops.

Yo,

I just want to know how this thread keeps coming back from the dead. It's not like you can see it on any of the current pages. Maybe the "Search" button at work?!

It'll never die!

Yes he knows this is a poll and that is why he is spouting his opinion. I would not put a t2 hood on an n/a because it would make the car look like something it is not. Rice is making your car look like it is fast, can handle any corner, and stop a show, but has no engine bay mods or chasse or frame stiffening work. Don't get mad people are just ssaying what they think, grow up.

I will be putting a weber carb setup on my 87 n/a along with a TII hood. I already have the mariahsports headlight air duct. I do not like the efi setup up. I ran weber downdarfys on my 78 while I was in japan. Much better in my opinion. With the weber setup more are is good.

I am going to put one on my rex before ipaint it, and its an na, but I love the look of them, and my opinion is that anyone can do whatever they think to their cars. Besides, by that time it won't be an na

If it looks good on the car, then why not.
