well this is how my car came............

its a "N/A" with a ******* TII hood, and big *** spoiler, alumin rims , and to top it off it's a ******* auto
u be the judge if i am a ricer r not...... cause i don't give a **** i like the way my car looks i know a lot of cars could smoke me. i don't wanna drop in a T2 motor i don't care that much about performance , sure i might do i little bit of mods to it but no big investment
i don't see what the big deal is if u want to make your 12 year old car look nice, i don't go around town reving up my engine at every red light trying to show off, r race every car i see
i just like my ride to look diffrent and nice.......
this is what a ricer is to me.......
RICER= someone who talks a lota **** and can't back it up (car wise)

flame me i don't give a **** cause i know my 12 year old ride still looks fly

(and for all you people who will flame me you r probly ricers yourselves)

All of this over a TII Hood on an N/A? Who gives a ****! It ain't rice! When mazda has manufactured a hood that fits an N/A perfectly, is light, and looks awesome, am I crazy to dish out $300 for an aftermarket peice of ****? Of course not... I go down to my local junkyard and find a TII hood, with a smile on my face and $250 in my bank account.

:s
Peace,
Nima

The N/A-T2 hood thing seems kinda marginal. I like the T2 hood, but I don't want someone else assuming things about my N/A. Besides, at least it's not like the old days when guys would punch a hole in their muffler with a screwdriver to get that drag-racey sound! What about buying an something that is supposed to look like it goes off-road, but can't?

WHo the F cares if it cant...how will u know...Its for looks. The other person doesent need to know and will never see u again.. So who cares.. Just like if I had a turbo hood I dont go trying to race every person that looks at it with a face like (oh its a turbo) because they dont even know what one is anywayz. Pluss nowone cars and if they assume anything than STILL WHO THE **** CARES...

You are right Von. As I said, it's a marginal debate. But, the question was asked, so someone does care. Whether or not something is "rice", "ghetto", or "hoosier", is in the attitude of the owner of the car. Usually. There are too many people out there that want to look like they have more than they do. And that goes way beyond just cars.

Wow... So much animosity...

I was going to put TII brakes and Rims on my SE N/A but now I just don't know....

Am I trying to look turbo or just maybe... better braking, but wait I am using the TII rims! Of course I am using them because they are cheap and will give me more rubber on the ground then my stock 14" Phone dials....

I put an aluminum hood on my car also... Not a TII, but if I had found the deal on a TII before I found this one then it would prolly be a TII hood... Of course I was trying to lighten my car... I managed to get my hood in the proper color for $90.... I was going for weight reduction, now I am glad I found the hood I have... I don't wanna be a ricer for saving weight at the cheapest cost available...

I can't believe all the folks here pissing and moaning about a damn hood....

Some of us here are on limited budgets... I would love a Carbon Fiber hood... but I can't find one for under $100

I bought my Mindtrain header used... $150
I bought my HKS Intake for $70 new
I bought my resonator to replace the main cat used $50
My shortshifter was $150 used....

I am into mods that D.I.Y. for cheap.... Not to please others....

Some of the mods people do here I don't care for, BUT they like them for their car!!! So Ce La Vie It doesn't effect me!!!

How about this-
Has anyone tried to turn the scoop on aT2 hood into a fresh air intake for an N/A? I don't know how much air flows thru the scoop on the turbo, so, I don't know if enough air can get thru that opening to feed a motor. Who knows, maybe a little ram effect? Anyone know anything/

Yeah, it's rice. But I suppose it's okay if you equip it with the ultraslick stick-on hood pins.

I'll take my NA aluminum hood all day long.

I don't think its ricey! If you want your RX-7 to look nice then why not get a TII hood? But when it comes to putting TURBOII stickers on an N/A.... now that's what you call rice!

In the case of feeding an airbox for a carb setup, that is different, as it is a functional performance enhancement. Although I would have serious reservations if the car was going to see ANY rain at all.

Where is the performance advantage on an injected NA? Other than the weight difference, there isn't one. And for those claiming the weight is the issue, maybe taking that 300# in stereo equipment out of the hatch might help!

Wait, wait , wait. . .I'm an ANTI-Ricer! I must be, since I'm planning on putting an NA hood on my 88 TURBO!!

I must be a ricer because I'm making my car look like something it's not. . .Soon I'll look like I have NO turbo! But it's not just looks. . .I'm going to an aluminium NA hood, thereby saving bout .5 pounds. That keeps me from being ricey, doesn't it?

Crap, people. . .do what you like as long as YOU like it. Unless it's Altezza's on a 7. Then we ALL get to kick the crap out of you. Just kidding.

OOHHH OOHHH!! I jsut remembered. I'm obviously trying to pretend that my car is Nissan, because I've added 300 ZX rims to my car. They aren't light, but:

A) I like the way they look, and
B) They provide me with 8.5" in front and 9.5" in the back. Wow, I'm a ricer to the nth degree.

if u think its soo rice then why do u think it is? i think its fine.. where it becomes rice is where you put "TurboII" stickers on the side... that is rice a lightweight hood, a hood that makes it look better and could be functional to let hot air outta the engine bay is not rice.. im looking right now for one...

This again, man this thread or the original never dies
T2 hood on an NA is RICE.
The aluminum hood on an NA is lighter, and the T2 hood raises the temp under the hood on an NA by reducing the flow of air over the rad.
The only reason for putting it on is to make your NA look like a T2, which is RICE.
If you want a T2 go and buy one instead of pretending.

I plan on getting an N/A FC ad putting a T2 hood on it, why? cause I like the look that's it, call me rice which I don't see why, I don't give a ****!

Do you T2 guys think your car is so much better then N/A's? wow a turbo. unreliable. I want the performance of a T2 but the reliabitly of a N/A. What's more important for a daily driver huh?

When i put the T2 hood on I'm still going to keep my GTX stickers, putting the Turbo II sticker when N/A then that's a poser not rice.

Rice = altezza, fart can, lowered to extreme, all show no go.

If they pretend to be something there not there called a poser not rice idiot.

I truely believe you T2 guys that are calling n/a's rice you guys think your bad ***. Is it me but i have read a little quotes I feel a little bit a selfishness and jealously LMAO! oh no you t2 guys, you guys are not going to be unique. lol

I'm doing it for looks cause I like how aggressive it looks, when some ask me if it's turbo I'll say "no" proudly.
