I think we still need some drawings, if you guys know anybody that can get us some decent pics down on paper we should be on our way to get a new body kit.
I can't draw but I have talked to a few of my friends that are design majors and I'm going to see what they come up with.
Come on guys/girls lets not let this idea got to $4it just because were all too lazy to get some drawings. I assume the more we have to show the producer the more they're going to be intersted in our cause, right Dave?

~waiting on whatever develops from this kit before he plops $2500 on the kightsport kit (those integrated driving lights/FTP lenses are badass

VaughanC if u are out there listening, where did you find this PICTURE!!!
that is an australian body kit, same thing as the Erebuni kit, that is the same thing as an erebuni mold on wing and a erebuni body kit, but i think the front bumper on that kit looks better than a erebuni, just a bit ill find the website for it in a bit so you can go look at it.
well the guy took that particular website down, he might have put it somewhere else.

Here's what an hour with the GIMP and a few photos of what my (well, soon to be mine) RX-7 would look like with my "ideal" bodykit.
It's subtle, and is more an extension of the already-existing pieces. Nothing flashy. IMnsHO, it looks really good, and doesn't scream "BODYKIT", it just "fills out" the bottom half of the car.
Attached is my front bumper idea. It's not too good (heck, this stuff's hard!), as it was my first, but you'll get the idea. Think "Mazdaspeed GT-C for the FC3S" and you'll know what I was shooting for. That's the piece I really want - a GT-C-like front for the FC. *drool drool drool*

Here's what the "side view" would look like.
The front is drooped (tried to get a "side view" of my previous image - not too good).
The side skirts are elongated, and I tried to accenuate the ridge that runs the length of the bottom of the skirt.
I also "created" a rear valence - pay special attention to the uber-cool ridges. If you think that's really nice, it could (potentially) be used as a "theme" for the rest of the body kit. Think of Gulf Coast waves, and you'll get how I want 'em to look...
The final touch is the spoiler. I think I did a wonderful job on it - it'd be bigger than stock, and have a similar profile, but be bigger and slightly more aggressive. Think of a cross between the Porsche "whale tail" and an MkI MR-2 spoiler with a dash of RX-7, and you've got it.

This kit is subtle :-) So subtle that it's easy to miss. In order to prove just how much cooler your RX-7 would look with this kit, see the next image...

P.S. Dave; what sort of compensation would the designer recieve were you to "select" one of his/her kits for production? You see, I'm poor and want a bodykit...

Im busy drawing but need a little imput. I am trying to make a veilsidish looking nose and Im either coming up really radical or really conservative. Im also trying to incorperate existing plastic for lenses (either stock 2nd gen or easy aftermarket) into it. I also dont personally care for full length side skirts so I just came up with some little ones that replace the stock rubber things I have in front of my rear wheels. AND finnaly the wing, I think I came up with a cool low profile wing that hangs off the back and doesnt obscure rear vision but still looks really aggressive, but could easily be toned down if popular opinion wanted.
I will try to get them scanned either tonight or tomorrow
Thanks for any imput. And Ive drawn these out like 100 times already too

Actually, it's not too bad, but i think it looks a little too open.Awesome work for a Rookie at the program though :1party:

Oh, and when my g/f saw it she said basically the same thing - "isn't the front end a little low?" so... FWIW...I spoiler... well, I was shooting for (like I said) more of a cross 'twix the MK1 MR-2 and a Porsche whale-tail. I don't want something that hangs (too far) off the back of the car, and it seems to fit the lines

What'd everyone think of the rear valence? As I was driving y'day, I realized it kind of looks like a Pontiac Grand-Am's skirt... *shrug*

Okay, I dug up my pic of the GT-C kit. It's attached. If you guys could imagine an FC analog, I think you'd all agree it'd look really cool. I love how the lines of the nose continues into the nose of the car (esp. the fog lights)...
Dave, I know you don't want to do the copy thing, but something "inspired" by this Mazdaspeed nose would be cool for everyone - it's very agressive, but not flashy, and wouldn't disturb the flowing lines of the FC.
What do ya'll think?

i think the front air dam should be just that: an air dam. the lower half of your air dam is to angular. it needs to just drop straight down from the belt line of the car (where the moulding is mounted) and it also needs to have a HUGE air inlet opening between where the stock foglights are. no fins or bars going across the opening either, like on stock bumpers. that way, for those of us who want to run Big FMIC's, it will have the best air flow possible.
whatever you do, try not to make it so complicated, that the kit would take days to install, and cost thosands to purchase. i like to keep it simple. id actually like to have Urethane body parts, that can mount with 3M sticky tape, and then use sheet metal screws to mount inside the fender lips.
we need some user-friendly body kits that wont eat up speed bumps either, and show damage like a sore thumb. id prefer urethane over 'Glas cuz its more forgiving, just incase you forget that parking block is infront of your car.
you should think Mk II MR2 spoiler. i like those better than the MkI, or mustang spoiler. anything that Ford dreamed up for the mustang, should be considered sub-standard for our classy cars. know what i mean?
