I can guarantee you that Leonard will NOT copy anyone elses work. If you want Mariah's hood, ask them to make you one. I think that their hood that they did for the 20B 10TH AE was probably one of the best hoods keeping the stock appearance yet making it look much more aggressive. Quite frankly, if you like someone elses body kit or pieces, then buy them and support the makers. This kit will by no means replace every kit out there. It isn't meant to do that either. It is just meant to be another thing availible to the FC community, and maybe, just maybe other vendors or even current ones will pick up on the fact that some total stranger to the RX-7 community is getting into the scene. That, is my goal

I do not make body pieces. Nor does Leonard make things cheaply(quality wise). Sorry. Try Wings West

No new updates, but I must admit I haven't even had a chance to talk to him due to my moving into the new place. I will try to talk with him this week and see if we can't proceed with the kits yet or if he is still overwhelmed with his previous kits. I'll let you know as soon as I get some more details

On the comments above about everyone getting the kit. I agree in theory, but in reality, I would say that maybe 1/3 - 1/4 of the people who have said "I can't wait to buy it" will probably buy it. Alot of people will wait to see what it looks like, and then will be mad when they see it and they realize they could have theirs already but now have to wait Like I said before as well, if this kit sells well, there isn't anything saying that he wont do other things like the hoods and fenders and other kits like a widebody etc.

well even considerin that everyone on here gets a body kit for their car, think about how many people have posted up on here.... there's been alottta post to this thread, but then think about how many 2nd gens there are out there in the u.s..... and canada, and worldwide... that one person is right that it will still be unique. BTW what did ya'll think of my lil paint attempt at makin a body kit for the car?

THIS ONE IS DEFINITELY THE BEST

This is definitely the best body kit I've seen. I'd make something similar. I'll definitely buy one like it if it is made for a decent price.

Depends on 2 things if I buy it:

1. How far into speed mods I am
2. How it looks

No worries. It is Leonard's fault that this is taking so long He should stop making those american body kits and just focus on FC ones hehe. I will email him and ask for an update.

Well, I have laid it out on the table. So if I get burned with this maker, I will approach another maker. Either way, I will get us a damn new body kit! I will NOT QUIT!!!

and take it to sevreal shops that look like they know what there
doing and look like they make quality stuff
and discuss with them initial pricing
bulk pricing
lenth of time in making body panels
etc and see who gives the best price and performance

Can you say "C-west" ?

That kit is the best I have seen (non-widebody) - The wing on the back makes it look like such a complete package - I love it.

Another thing I love about it is the way that it doesn't make the car look too long like the Re-amemiya kit does.

And the kit was never produced so there is no harm in using it for "inspiration ".

As for the lights I am happy to keep them stock
the bonnet is fine as is
new tailights would be cool though

Can't wait for the next progress report!

Funny you mention that. I happen to have a meeting with one of the best body kit makers for FC's in the history of the car tomorrow. I will try to bring it up with them and see what their reply is. I wrte Leonard last night basicly letting him know that he has made me look like an *** to the forum, so I am now commiting to look elsewhere. I should have stuck to people who are already into the scene. I have learned my leason

I would not say he has made you look like an "***" to the forum. Everyone here knows you are really trying to get this project off of the ground. And we know you are waiting for him so you can update us, so this does not reflect on you negatively. If he is as good as you say he is maybe you should still try and deal with him. As long as you know he won't jerk us around when the kits are produced. Good luck with your meeting tomorrow.

Well, I appreciate that, but I feel like an *** regardless. I said I would come through with something, and he is preventing that. We will see, but I am looking elsewhere for results.

Well all I have to say about this Dave is that, in my mind at least, you do not look like an *** at all. If anyone looks like an *** I think its leonard. There are a good number of us on the list just dying to get our hands (details being ignored) on this kit in the making. Business wise if he makes a good product he has basically an easy sell. I still feel what you are doing is awesome for the RX-7 community and it makes me proud to be a part of it. It shows that the love for this car will never die down or fade away. Even now that it is almost a decade and a half since these cars rolled out look how much we appreciate them! Still all I have to say to you is thank you. You have proven yourself an asset to the RX-7 community and I wish you luck on the project! I have only been a part of the community for a few monthes and am glad to be a part of it! Thanks Dave and everyone who cares!

Actually there is no real reason I couldn't approach C-West with the idea. Anyone got any contact information on them?
