FAR TOO LAZY

hey, im too lazy to read through all of that so i have 2 questions:

1- So whats the story on the headlights, do you know if your friend is going to leave the flip-ups on his kit?

2- what about the spoiler, do you know if it'll be veilside style?

-thx, Flave

$500 aint too bad for a whole front bumper replacement
but it better not be on of those mazdabeat lloking ones

This Kit is what I would like
it retains stock lense assembly which keeps cost down
except I would like a stock looking TII/GTU wing but bigger

FC3S.org can you PM me and fill me in on what it is that seems to be the potentials and biggest priorities for fabrication. I am extremely interested and actually have a tripoint widebody in Gardena that I need to have glass work done on to look more modern. It's got the 18,13 Kinesis wheels on it. You've probably seen it around.

I just bought it and would be more than happy to bring the car to him if he needs to use it to produce stuff for widebody versions. I'll pay him too. What is his schedule like?

I would be so appreciative.
Company's name is Automotive R & D. We would be more than happy to help in the distribution and demonstration of the kits as well.

Thanks, Rishie

I've been keeping up with the thread but it's so long now. I can bulk order, but will fly down and check out his work.

THIS IS REALLY GOOD OF YOU TO DO. Thanks a lot.

I know this has been said a few times but i just felt compelled to write and say this myself. I just want to say thank you for all the work and effort that you are putting into this project. Whether or not I can afford it or whether or not its MY style of kit I think isn't all that important. The more parts available though the better for the whole rx-7 community. regardless of when its done. So once again thank you fc3s.org! The rx-7 community is lucky to have people like you!

Thanks for the kind words. I think that most of if not all of the things you have asked in this post need to be addressed by Leonard himself. I don't want to even take a venture into that stuff. I am acting purely as an advisor to him on these kits. I am just the voice of the people I will indeed let him know of your questions though and have him contact you accordingly.

Thanks again iluvrx7z for the compliments. I only want other vendors and manufacturers to see that we are still around, and there are quite a few of us that still drive these cars and love them as if they were new cars! Hell I just spend $450 on a new HID conversion kit! How many Honda owners do that? Not near as many as the ones that just put in the blue headlights. Anyway, thanks. I have more things to come after this is done...

I was thinking about the hood scoop that could come with the kit and what about a ferrari style scoop... nice and rounded and has that built into the hood look... check these pics out...

Dave, I'd like to see how that looks! Does it reflect in different ways like the other HID lights (they have mirrors, etc)? HID lights are expensive rice!

Edit: Just saw your post..... looks awesome!

Is this guy still taking ideas for what the body will look like? If so then he should make a pair of headlight covers with little scoops in them - And for cheaper than $120 each.

Just a little thought

Well I was thinking of keeping my TII looking stock for more of the sleeper approach but DAMN these kits look bad ***. Considering I am going to get my car painted and need a new fender anyways If it looks good I will get it.
Also I like the hood scoop. It looks different than other cars and is actually functional unlike the new mustangs, new celica, etc.
I think that function should be a BIG part of the kit. Like said above. The wider body should be able to make larger tires a reality.
I dont like how high the pop up lights go. If the kit had flush lights thats fine or if it it had pop ups I like these. THey are for a miata.

Also cost is a BIG factor for me too. That is why I got my car. TII's are a grerat deal for performance.
A rear undertray is a great idea. No more spare tire bump in the back.
Keep the duals design.
Well thats all I can think of right now.

Heres a list for ya. i didnt read the 9 pages between the first page, and this one. so if these are repeats, then itll just reinforce the desire for such items.

1. rear diffuser/undertray like the the white car pictured(Subaru impreza) only w/o the license plate cut out.

2. make bolt on chin spoiler for 86-88 RX7, similar to mazdaspeed

3. make Flared front fenders similar to Mariah, only smooth out the harsh lateral creases, and sell for cheaper. and make the transition from front bumper to door seam more smooth, and less obvious. possibly integrate functional Heat extractors.

4. agressive side skirts, apply w/ double sided 3M tape, used 3-5 sheetmetal screws (countersunk) at end caps to secure ends of skirts. possibly integrate Camaro Z28/IrocZ rear brake cooling ducts.

5. make complete front bumper cover which has cut-outs inplace of the FTP lenses, so you can retain your pop up headlight assembly, any simply leave the retractor fuse out to operate lights w/o pop up function. top of bumper would look like this:
_____ ___________ _____
/| | | |\
/ |____ | |____ | \

similar to the Knightsport kit, only w/o the huge price tag, or the need to convert to the equally expensive knightsport headlight kit. also, incorporate openings for OE 89-92 fog lights which are brake cooling ducts (circa 86-88) when no fog lights are used. also, use large front opening for those of us using Large FMIC's.

6. Replacement Fiberglass and CarbonFiber hoods with features such as:

-Reverse scoop (heat extractor) behind radiator, OR
-Functional cowl to extract heat. (like LS6 chevelle) about 1.5" high
-Central mounted Intake scoop at leading edge of hood to utilize factory intake piping.

7. make REamemyia convertible wing to fit HB, bolt on. not Mold-on. but, not the REamemyia PRICE. hehe

8. fabricate pedestal mounts which will mount to back edge of car, and give a mounting base for the universal aluminum 'fighter' style wings.

9. manufacture Cold air headlight cover, similar to this, only w/ 50% larger opening.

good luck,
chris

I'd like widebody ALWAYS WIDEBODY lol, and a larger version of the tII wing. Nothing ricey. Just more agressive.
I dont necessarily like the headlight scoops but if you could make them look better who knows. Just looks dumb to me even if it is functional. and yaeh I like that inverted hood scoop.

20B hood?

Can this guy make a hood just like the Mariah Motorsports one for the 20B car...and not the plain one that they sell. There is a special one that they made for the white car that I have to have this winter. If he can do by January, I'll definitely get it.

my only beef with this kit is that it seems like everyone on the forum is gonna get it. Then we will all just have the same kit.

That's true....that could be a down side, or you could look at it like this: Say 200 people from all over the USA get the same kit....rx7's will just look that much more impressive. Consider rims, spoilers, maybe different front spoilers, lowering, etc. Every car will still be unique.
