ACTUALLY i'm hoping it's urethane covered fiberglass,
i'm not a fan of pure fiberglass, it's too brittle, and if you hit a bump or anything going just a bit to fast, or if the car's just a bit too low, there goes the bottom of your front bumper!

Yes fiberglass itself is brittle, but there are ways to make it strong. I used to work with motorcycles quite a bit while I had one, and many people came into my friend's shop for body work. OEM parts were generally too expensive, so fiberglass was the material of choice. Granted fiberglass IS weaker than urethane, but when you think about fitment, and overall 'workability', fiberglass wins hands down. IMO, I'd rather have a nice looking body kit and don't lower my car too much so I don't have to worry about bottoming out *like you stated your concerns earlier* than to have a 'gappy' body kit and paint flaking off of it.

Peace,
AJ ^_^

OK, alot of these concerns are covered in this now rather long thread The kit material is still not known to me as I have had rather limited time to discuss it with the builder. Mark my words that I have a whole list of things on this thread to ask, and will reply with answers as soon as I get them. The kits this man makes are not flimsy jobs. He is regarded highly among his peers, including other body kit manufacturers.

On the fitment issue, again as stated in previous posts to this thread, he will be molding a FC that has NEVER had body damage so as to ensure perfect fit on every kit. These are going to be bolt on kits. No modifications will be needed. They will also be completely functional in their design.

And I will urge him to include the light conversion in the kit due to its large popularity (including me!)

I think I better put this down on the forum before I forget. I have the KnightSports flip up light kit. Yes the one that runs like 800USD. This is the one reason I like the KnightSports front end because it allows me to keep that and also I like it's not-so-aggressive look. In any case, I'd love to have a kit that doesn't make me have to take apart the light assembly and then get a whole new one. Ok, it's down on the forum! Thanks for listening to my 2 cents!

Peace,
AJ ^_^

Would you like a picture of the KnightSporst front end I'm talking about? or would you like a picture of the flip up lights?

That's a good question. I'll make sure to ask him, but I would think that most people would want to get them painted to match their cars color exactly to make it look better. There is no real way for him to match the color of your car due to things like fading, weather etc. I'll find out though.

For the Knightsports front end I REALLY REALLY like. It's the post by ESHAFT on Page 6 of this post.

For the picture of my lights, hold on, i'm still trying to figure out my stupid digital camera.

Peace,
AJ ^_^

I realize that. But you can see why I want to keep the headlights right? I love the flip up headlights and especially now with the 4 light conversion kit I slapped on there. That's all.

Peace,
AJ ^_^

4 head light conversion? I have been looking for one of those. I was contemplating making one out of the half height square lights and stacking them in the existing housing. But round ones would be much cooler.

Where did you find it at jizzajuice?

I really really really like that kit. If a kit was made available that looked exactly like that, but with a reasonable price, I'd buy it. I love my popups, and I want to keep them, but that just looks so good.

Here's a pic of a similar kit on a Miata. They're the BSP low profile headlights (as it says on www.flyinmiata.com ), they go for $335, way less than the Knightsports for the same damn thing.

Actually, after looking at it again it looks like it's the exact same kit, perhaps modified slightly.

Well, some things I noticed while installing the kit. It was extremely easy to install just uninstall the original brackets, and put the new ones on then wire it up to the original harnesses and you're good to go. The biggest pricetag on the thing was the dang shipping. It cost like around 150USD to ship the dang things over. Ridiculous. If you guys want, I can take some closer shots of it for you guys to take a look at. Granted the picture I took was kind of far away.

Peace,
AJ ^_^

Ps: If only companies made cosmetic parts for the 2nd gen rx7 like they do for the miatas....

As for where I got them:
http://www.rxecret7.com/knight-sports.html

At the time, they had a sale going on so it was cheaper.

is it just me, or does it seem like there's been enough of a slow down in posts that this will end up another body kit that was thought of and not made? Just my ideas...

Think what you must, but I do not start things that I cannot finish. The owner/designer has prior commitments to attend to and due to recent events, his plans have been pushed back. He is attending auto shows, meetings with automotive manufacturers, and other things of that nature. This kit WILL be done. These things just don't come out overnight. Until he gets back from his trips, I cannot do anything but collect further information and organize it so that it can be presented to him. How many people here have started to have a body kit made? How many people know what it takes to have one made? Thanks for the vote of confidence...

Again, I will post new news when I have some.
