sorry to **** you off there, but I'm just pointing out that we've had alot of ideas put up here, and then it just stagnated and got pushed back farther and farther. The fact that you replied so quickly shows that you've at least been reading the posts and most likely collecting ideas, and I'll give you alot of credit on that. But it still comes down to me not trusting anyone to do something if I can't see the progress. Sorry, but I don't like to just take people's words for something. On the other hand, I think it would be awesome if we could get a kit together and I realize that it's not an instantaneous thing. Didn't mean to hurt your confidence, but I just wanted to say that I (and probably others) would like to hear something new.

How about you shut your mouth? You really need to realize your place... Dave doesn't owe you ****. He can choose to give you updates when he wants, because he is doing US a favor by having this done. Do you think we care whether you trust or not? Nope! I don't fully trust this to happen either, but at least I will give him the benefit of the doubt because from what I can see he is an honorable person, with kickass website designed to HELP us! These things take time, and it just shows what kind of a person you are when you whine like little girl about things not being completed as quickly as you'd like. I'm guessing you have no first hand experience in the public production of a body kit, so shut your mouth!

If I come across too strongly I'm sorry, I think Dave deserves more respect than to hear your futile demands. For Dave: Thanks for putting up with bullshit like this, you are an awesome guy!

Calm down, that was unnecessary. No more.

It's really cool that Dave and a friend are trying to get a body kit put together and into production. I hope they're successful, and from what it sounds, they have everything they need to get it done.

However, can you blame someone for being a tad skeptical about it? It is true, there have been many ideas that have been brought up like this, that went nowhere.

Sorry...

Sorry for being so pissed at his comment. No I can't blame him for being skeptical, notice: "I don't fully trust this to happen either...". I think it's very disrespectful to demand constant updates on something that Dave is doing to help out FC owners, and is obviously going to take alot of time organize. Let's all just keep badgering Dave so he scraps the whole thing, and you all can keep dreaming about those Japanese kits... sound good? I dunno, I guess I just get the impression that Dave is a pretty straightforward guy, and if something of this project were to go wrong he would let us know. There is no use badgering him for updates and bitting our finger nails in anticipation....

Anyways sorry for the rude comments

It's all good.

I'm sure Dave realizes that if he doesn't want to come here, he doesn't have to. I think the original point of this post was to guage interest in such a product, and see what you all would buy.

I'm not buying a body kit for my car, so none of this is really a big deal to me. The only thing I'd like is the headlight kit, just because I'm sure it tosses out more useable light than what I've got.

Just let Dave defend hisself. If somebody goes a bit too far with the insults or slander, let me know and I'll take care of it.

dave,

keep up the good work and ignore all the complaints!!! i'm new to the board, but from what i can see, i think that it is so cool of you to put together something like this. time is never a problem when quality is an issue. take as long as you need, as long as the outcome looks awesome. count me in if the project is a success.

Does this mean we can all be friends now

By the way anybody know where a good t56 can be had cheap? Preferably N.Texas
I just picked up a V10 from a 3/4 ton Ram (and no its not going in my NA) I am going to get a V6 5speed 92-96 Dakota to put it in. lower it a bit and turn it into a tow vehicle for after my NA becomes a Viper eating monster

Now can you give us a rough estimate as to when he will be able to start working on the kit again? I personally am not in any real rush for one.

Thanks for the updates.

Thanks for the votes of confidence and support. I am only doing this for the FC community. i am making no profit from this, and I am gaining nothing other than getting a better kit for a cheaper price on the market. I do this on my own time, and with my own resources. If you are skeptical, that is your right. I just think that if you want to just post how it isn't going to happen, and how you trust no one, then you should rethink posting it to a thread of people who want this to happen and are looking forward to it happening. I have no hard feelings, because I have done more to get this going than any of the "non believers". We will prevail

I cant believe there are those that wanna be all skeptical... while it is all good that you have the right to ur opinion, it aint wise to post so where there r 99% of those who have the exact opposite of it. I mean, that kid is right about not badgerin dave to keep givin us updates every now and then, **** i would be happy even if he updated us only once a month... at least he gives us updates more often than not. And a project like this does take awhile so who knows, cant wait to see whether it gets done or not... hopefully it does Dont want to see it not work out.

I have faith in this still. I know that these things take time just by the progress of other kit manufacturers. Think how long it took Bomex to make the new kit. And Erebuni wanted to make a shogun kit and was requesting a test vehicle to borrow for 3 months. These are major companies people. If it took them that long then I think this guy is incredible if he gets a prototype done before the end of the year. Like said before, he has other commitments. Not like he has a team of people to assign to this project.

PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!!!!!!!!

ok... just to clear up a couple things for the people who don't like "the kid" posting his ideas...

I understand that this is not something that is gonna happen suddenly, and I am definately grateful that someone finally is doing something about getting some attention for the FC. My comment was just that I'd like to see what's going on, and I hadn't heard much for a while. Sorry for the commotion, but at least it shows that alot of people are still supporting the kit.

I'll just sit back and let you all flame away now. Go ahead boys, enjoy...

I'd like to clarify something here. Being almost 19 years old I'd like to think of myself as more of a "large child" than a "kid", thank you very much!

I think we're all on the right page now

Oi... all these teenagers here. Makes me feel old now. Thanks a lot... I'll say this for the record: I'm extremely curious and extremely excited about what kind of designs Dave and his friend are going to come out with. I feel saddened that someone would even THINK about commenting on the commitment Dave is putting into this. Oh well that's their perogative.

Peace,
AJ ^_^

It's no big deal to me really. I am 28 so I am too old to carry a grudge, usually.

I did hear some potentially cool news. Someone wrote to me from my website saying that they got the link fro the recent issue of SCC (Sport Compact Car) I know it isn't the Oct one because I have that one. I dont' have the Nov one yet, but if anyone has it can you look that up and let me know if it is true or not? If it is, then I have this feeling that I am going to be referring alot of peoples questions here and answering alot of emails myself. Did you guys/gals see that FC that was in SCC a few months back? The one with the damn Neuspeed decal across the side??!!??!!

Anyway, again more info to come. Be patient and I swear it will pay off.

anyway here are my thoughts.

aggressive is good. but it has to be in a way that captures the look of the car. there's no denying it, the FC has a certain look, and I feel that getting rid of that look shouldn't be done with a kit. I'm talking about the shape of the car. the aerodynamics and the style of the car. I hope you know what I'm talking about. heh... I think a kit should increase the aggressiveness of the car, but as well, accentuate the key unique elements the car has. namely the basic shape of the car. I think somethings should change to keep it with the times, but when you drastically change the look or shape of the car, what's the point in having that car? what I think should happen? front bumper is a must. sideskirts. widebody or flares would be ok, but nothing too drastic. nice spoiler (if it looked good and fit well on both the hatch and convertable, that would be a major plus). rear skirt? sure, but people do different things with exhaust so it'd be best to make it so you cut it or something like that. Skirts that go behind the back wheel and end basically where the back of the car is is good. I do like the erubundi or whatever it was. But the main thing is to keep it concurrent with the stylings of the FC and maybe throw in some of the FD. I don't think that adding Supra taillights or Skyline style tailights is a good idea. keep within the RX7. But over all. make it origonal. Don't make the kit look like a supra from the back. or an S14 from the side. make it so that if someone saw it, they'd either say "what is that?" or "that's one cool FC." not "hey, that looks like a supra, but it couldn't be!" or "Skyline? nah..." That's the most important thing in my sights.

A lot of good ideas here though. oh yeah. a nice functional hood. and use something that wont likely crack or snap or shadder or anything. don't want to end up breaking the thing in like a week.

hey

I havnt made any suggestions yet but thought of something important. You should NOT have any unnecessary desings. Like huge curves that serve nothing. I think this is what cheesy means to. Look at the hood on the new firebird. Ugliest piece i have ever seen. Its super curvy and totally unnecsessary. LOoks like some kid with a wild imagination thought it up. Keeping the original desing but extending it to make it look lower or something. I think the front bump would look good if it didnt curve inward but went streight down still keeping the same fog light layout. Pan speed wing would kick but would need a rear bumper to match. I will put up picks soon.

that's pretty much exactly what I meant. and the firebird is a good example.

heh... I just finished reading all of the posts in here. whoa... 3:30 am... must sleep but ...finish post....

I thought of a few things. Is this kit going to fit up to the 86-88 bumper? or 89-91? The reason I say this is because no one's really brought it up and I think that a really awesome kit would be ruined if it didn't match up with trim (or get around it while maintaining looks). 2 versions would be good, but I completely understand how it wouldn't work at first. I guess the there are two possibilities. try and find some way around the differences in trim between the two styles of FCs.... or try to figure out which one would sell better and go with that one (and maybe later make minor changes to make the trim match for the other model). Right now I have an 86 but soon I will be buying an 91ish. I like most of the examples that people have been giving, and most of the FC kit styles. I prefer pop ups (the half way round light ones are very nice) but that doesn't matter. I'm very confident that this kit will turn out durable, affordable (as quality kits go), very stylish, and most everything else positive. But I still feel that a trim discrepency would ruin the kit for the other 'trimmed' FC. I'd like to hear if you've thought about this.

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRR

With the spoiler, since it would be my only car, and I do have heavy things to move (synthesizers, amps, equiptment mostly) a broken spoiler would not be too happy.

Ok time for bed now. hopefully... I'm just excited about how this will turn out. heh... this one's worthy of my sig.
