i learn that it is the SAME car i drove at the dealership some 7 years ago. i replaced the engine and many interior parts and am trying to restore this car, as it is my favorite 7 that i own. once i secured my 10AE i now was on a quest to buy another brilliant black 88TII. i end up buying one in similar condition to the one i previously had. i went to KY to buy the car and i now have the collection that i have always wanted! other than owning 4 FB's and 1 SA on top of the TII's.
How many of you guys get offended when someone calls your car
"Rice rocket piece of ****" or so
I ******* hate that
GERMAN POWER with the research and development of japanese x]
It's like, yes my car is made in japan, yes im proud of my car. It aint no rice rocket its a rare, different, automobile that less then 25% of the world knows about.
win!

My buddy called me up sayin he found an RX-7 for 1000 bux and i needed a car... I NEEDED a 5spd cuz I hate autos and as soon as I found out it was RWD I was sold... Didn't even have the 1000 right away but I gave him 200 on the spot cuz I fell in love... I've put 1300 into the sound system and around 800 for exhaust and I've driven it for a year without a problem... all I had to do was replace the battery, the plugs, and all the oils... I just wish I had the money to do what I want to it....

I have always loved Japanese cars. I love the way they handle, the way they look and how much potential they (usually) have. I bought my 1991 240sx in the summer of 05. I loved that car, until I finally noticed that it was turning into the new civic. It was time for something different. I sold my 240 (but had to pay my dad back for the money I still owed him, I was only 17 at the time and worked all summer to save up enough that my dad would lend me the rest). I worked all of last summer and did my research. I was either going to get a mkiii supra or an fc. My dad kept telling me that the Supra was the way to go. He said the engine would last forever, it was reliable and it was still relatively quick. I test drove both (including the turbo versions). I test drove the supras first. They seemed heavy and sluggish, even the turbo versions seemed to lack the power I was looking for (the boost didnt kick in until around 3.5-4 and it redlined at 6). Then I test drove a tii that was advertised for 800. It was bone stock. An old man was selling it because he said his nephew lost interest after it got broken into and the stereo was stolen. It had its problems, it smoked at startup. But it purred. The windows where bashed out and the interior was in a horrible condition. I still smiled. It wouldn't turn over until he jumped it. My dad was skeptical, he gave me a "are you sure this is what you want" look. I was sure, but I needed to drive it first. The boost seemed to start picking up at around 2.5 and didn't drop off until it redlined. I was in heaven! My dad actually said "did you just orgasm?" after he saw my reaction to taking it all the way. When I returned, I wanted to pay for it right away but it was around 100 miles from my house and my dad said it wasnt worth risking the drive (he does not trust the rotary engines...) I listened to him and told the owner we would return later that week to buy the car. When I called him up and told him that I would bring a trailer over to buy the car, he told me that the person that test drove it after me "messed up the engine" and it had no compression to one of the rotors now. He said he sold it for 300 as a parts car. I should have bought it on the spot and risked the drive home...it was a stupid idea to listen to my dad. I kept looking on craigslist, but all the tiis where going for 5000-6000. I only had 3000. I found the car that was going to be mine on a late August day. The owner just moved into his house. He was building rotary powered planes in his garage. He showed me a disassembled engine, all of the parts and how it worked. He said the engine in the FC was recently rebuilt. It was mint condition, almost flawless. He started it up and it turned over the first try. It purred away at idle. The engine bay looked clean. I drove it and didnt expect much out of the engine (it was an N/A). It wasnt that bad, I was addicted to the sound it made, especially at high rpms. He told me about some twisty back roads by his house. I drove on them and it handled like a dream. I talked him down from 3500 to 3000 and drove it home that day. My dad is still skeptical about the rotary engine. I havent had any engine related problems since I bought it. I had to replace the starter, thermostat, tiers, and am just now getting to the breaks and fixing the "loose shifter" problem. I am planning on swapping the tii engine in this summer and putting the 13b into an FB (I might buy a roller down the road).

This is my first car. my bro recommended it to me so i did some research and got one from a guy in forth worth, tx. the thing i love about it is the way it revs. it just keeps revving infinity and beyond. also it has alot of xtra features like lsd and four pot brakes.
so far radiator, water sensor is all that went wrong.
no a/c and interior electricity is't working, but looking to fix
I've had this 4 5 months so far and i love it

went to highschool with one of the guys on the forum and decided, "thats a sick car, man, i would love that car eventuall". well, a little while later i see his friend driving a blacked out third gen. the time comes for me to get a car, and sure enough, he had a car sitting around. i ended up not being able to buy it cause he decided to trade it with a friend for a truck. i was like "uh, ok, thats cool" saved me like 1500$, saw a poor molested riced out 7 on craigslist, talked to the guy, told him ill be there in a jiffy. he said "i want it gone today, hows 1g sound?" "sold"
thats it, fixed it up, unmolested it, unriced it, (still need different wheels).
grand total, car-1g, mods-5g, time-lost track, friends involved-all.
i love this car, ****, my fiance loves my car.
peace

My dad was a engineer for Ford from 1961-1972 (he volunteered for Vietnam) and went back to work with them from 82-88 its was some time here he decided to take Fords Mazda program and obtained a 87 TII when he opened his own shop it sat between his 302 boss and his 427 Shelby, with 500 miles on it
my oldest brother got it and i ended up working on it some how then eventually owned it till it was totaled ever since I've liked rotaries,
they make a interesting sound and can be fast from the get go, thats if some dumb kid doesn't get ahold of it
and my new TII ( i got for 800$) sits next to my Falcon waiting its street ported motor
and my pops still says he loves them rotaries

Cause I like drive fast
Always loved the sound of them compared to pistons.
The community. Who would've thought as soon as I bought the car, other 7's came out of the wood works. One 7 owner came to my job and offered to sell me his Pacesetter headers, and I was lucky enough to get chased down by highly cute girl in a twin turbo 3rd Gen. I thought it was an Eclipse chasing me so I floored it and was shocked at how this damn car kept staying on my ***.....then I noticed it was a green 3rd Gen.....and "she" stepped out of it.
Oh and last, my friend hates workin on it cause he's a "Piston Head."
It was an auto N/A....I know I know, this was during my rebelling of driving a stick...Since I'm in the military and was SOOOOO close to getting Japan, I'm trotting for it again. This time it'll prolly be a 3rd Gen or the Nissan: Line of Sky(skyline). If I don't get japan, then well.....Honda S2000.
I miss a 7 so bad.

My friends got me into drifting and i didn't want to be like everyone else and get a 240. I was either thinking of a 86 corolla or a FC but I found a the FC first Just wish it was a turbo.

got mine because
1) i love rx-7's
2) i couldn't afford an FD
3) because i am ryosuki takahashi (lol..j/k)
4) because it was goign to waste at the back of a friend's garage
5) because i needed a cheap (ish) car to go racing with.
in retrospect, i impulse bought the car overpaid a bit..but the cash went to a friend so who cares.

we all know Ryousuke>Keisuke lol
I think everyone has their story about the fc. whether you couldn't afford the fd, didn't want the fd, love rotaries, love fcs, had previous influences, or just needed a car, the owners that spent the couples minutes to reply to this thread has mad love for their car. If you have a story of your own please share it with us. its nostalgic and entertaining haha

Lots of rotors
iTrader: (33)
I got mine because it was cheap and I thought it was sweet when I was 14 . My uncle owned it and sold it to me for a grand. After saving and what not, he brought it up. When I first got it and he told me it was rotary, I thought it meant like those old phones... lol. Anyays, I've still got it after almost 3 years... that's me
