I loved the fb and when the fc came out, I loved them too. I love the way they look and handle. I love they smell and sound also.
I was poor and in 1988 I bought an 86 GXL. After I wore that one out I got a 1990 in white. Great car but I sold it for a vett. stupid. Then I got an fd. awesome. Then an AE, Then a vert, then the gtus. I love these cars.

Add to all the above...just four pieces of glass. No little vent windows or inserts. It's a design thing to me, just a very clean build. (And just a bit less opportunity for thieves that love vent windows.)

Oh, and at the time no possibility of me hot-rodding a rotary, which kept me out from under the hood much. Now I'm eyeballing the 26b projects. Woe is me.

I bought my rx7 fc as a stepping stone to learn more about the rotary engine, and rx7's in general. Didn't want to spend a good amount of money on a FD and then ruin it with my limited knowledge of the cars.

I remember the different feel of the car when my friend gave me a ride in his S4 FC back in 2000. I finally bought an S5 GXL in 2004. The guys was asking for 1400 and I wound up leaving with the FC and an extra full set of Epsilon wheels for 700. I couldn't possibly turn that down. Come to find out it had a blown coolant seal but I somehow managed to drive it for a whole year which in my opinion paid for itself.

the rotary engine fascinated me. the well thought out suspension layout is a work of art. wrapped up in a pretty dang sexy package i'd say. it's a very well rounded car. they say you get what you pay for. but with these cars, you get much more. best bang for your buck.
another thing i like is that they really demand your attention. unlike a lot of other cars that you can just drive into the ground. i like that it requires me to have a level of knowledge for it. it's a hobbyists car for sure.

and yes, as mentioned, the fd is just a bit too exotic for me. by that i mean expensive. i like that i can find parts at the wreckers for this car. but even these are becoming very scarce

My dream car was always an rx-7, my first street driven car ever was going to be an rx7. i was looking at a couple fds for sale, then coming home from seeing one, i noticed a 10thae sitting on a trailer with a for sale sign. Sadly it was sold already. but it grabbed my attention and i started looking at t2s as well. Found an 88 t2 black with a fresh rebuild. One test drive down the street, spinned thru most of 1st and 2nd, i was hooked, it was sold! 3 years and a whole bunch of time and money invested. Car has been rebuilt from the ground up, resprayed jet black, s5 conversion and most importantly, converted to rhd.

Always thought the cars were cool, but you can't really appreciate one till you own it. I was lucky enough to find with with super low miles (38k original) on my 91 vert - got it from the original owner as well. You just don't see these on the road that much and allot of people have never seen one before. I enjoy been a little different than the pack.

I agree zoom. I love driving these cars and I hardly ever see other rx7s. I do see more fcs compared to fbs and fds. I daily drive my gslse most of the summer but when I'm not, I'm driving my gtus. I'm 58 and these cars make me feel like I'm 18 again. It's a beautiful thing. I will never buy any other car but the Rx-7. Although I do like the way the new mx5 looks. Might get one before I die.

I bought my rx7 a few years ago. I like how simple the car is. No fancy gadgets, just a well balanced car. I have a thing for the second gen because it looks very 80s. The fd looks very modern and still looks relevant today, but the fc is almost retro at this point. It's fun driving an old car that you don't see anymore. Here in Seattle I rarely see an fc, specially in good shape. Most of the people that care about rx cars tend to go for the fd.

It is a good chassis with a lot of solid parts. I felt like getting into AutoX stuff. The cost to make either of my boosted Mustangs handle as well as an FC would have been significanly more than I paid for my current FC. I also had a lot of money into making my Mustangs look nice, would have been a shame to hit a cone.

My current RX7 was more than likely on its way to the junk yard, so it was a perfect candidate for an Autox car. So out with the Mustangs and in with the RX7 it was.

My wife is still kind of upset with me over that choice.

I buy and sell cars for a living. I had a 240sx, 300zx, supra mk3 turbo and many others. and I have to say, rx7 is a complete package. It's got the looks, performance, coolness factor and the fact that it's rotary makes it that much special. I'm on my second fc, and I have a feeling there is going to be much more in the future. Maybe 20b Cosmo? :P

I was a kid and wanted a FD. Couldn't afford a FD so I planned on building my way up to one. Learn N/A and how to work on it and Turbo and how to work and maintain it then eventually get the FD.
