Almost the same deal for me.

I was almost 16 and I saw that this guy on my street was selling an RX7. I had no idea what kind of car it was at first, I just knew that it looked cool. Then one day a friend was driving by and said it was an RX7 and that his brother had one (a third gen). I went home and asked my dad. He said we didn't have the money for a car right now - waited 'til Christmas and it ended up in my driveway.

The rest is history.

Cheers,
Cody

I wanted an FC since I was like 15 or 16. I always thought the FD was pretty snazzy, and never really payed attention to the Rx-7 brand. Then I laid eyes on an 89 FC for sale where I used to live and fell in love instantly. I wasn't able to get one because my insurance company wouldn't insure it, said it was a "high performance vehicle." When I was 20, we switched insurance companies and I sold my Integra and bought an 88 vert. That was 4 years ago, and now I have a turbo swapped vert sitting in the shop unable to pass emissions! DAMN!

In high school I saw them and to be honest likes that they had dual exhaust hahaha. Then started shopping around and test drove an 87 NA Sport and loved it. Bought it for 1,500 in 1998 and it blew up one week later. Was able to claim lemon law on it and got 1300 of my money back. 5 months later I bought another 87 NA with a fresh rebuild from an old lady. Took it to where she got the rebuild and they confirmed that they had just rebuilt it but couldnt believe she was selling it to me for 2,500 since it cost her more than that a couple weeks before when she picked it up.

Used that car for a year until my younger brother got a 69 camarro and beat me in a drag race (duh!). That day went back to the shop that did the rebuild on it and was offered a TII shell that they would build a ported turbo motor for and install it all. $3,500 I had a TII with RB full exhst, fcd, RB susp, and streetported turbo motor. Scared the hell out of myself for about 2 weeks and probably pissed off a lot of people since I was only 18 at the time and stupid.

The NA FC's are cool but I could not believe the turbo FC was even in the same insurance category as well as named the same as the NA FC.

I would put the number of FC`s I have owned since then at about 12.

Well it was either do what I want to my civic for 1500 bux or get an rx-7. Took me about .1 milliseconds to choose. I loved them since I saw my first fb and always wanted an RX-7 because I like to be different lol with the rotary engine its definitely got that down. Plus the car was only 600 bux but 600 miles away in Delaware. Was in near mint condition since it was sitting since 1998 in a garage and is only a 1990. There are only 2 fc's that I have seen in my area a black s4 turbo and a white I believe S5 vert. A few fb's that my dad worked on but havnt seen them on the road. Although there are also all the one's that the owner of Banzai has but I have only ever seen them parked. Just love my 7 plan to keep it till I die.

IT WAS FREE !!!!!!

a buddy of mine had it and flooded it but didnt know how to fix it (neither did i at the time) but he was going to Korea for a year and said if I wanted it to come get it. It was an 87 Sport primer gray with t2 seats. I got a set of t2 wheels from rx7_ragtop a former moderator on here and was slowly getting it fixed up with a single N1 exhaust and a cold air intake. I loved the way it handled and rode. Just needed more power.

That was till a minivan rear ended me and pushed me out into the path of an on coming focus.

now I've got the bug again and slowly looking for another one.

Bought it as a project car. I was thinking of getting a 240sx, MR2 or a AE86 but I decided to go with a rotary since I haven't work on one before, just know the basic fundemental of it. Besides the FB looked ugly to me and the FD are just too expensive.

I got my FC because I was an Initial D fanboy @15 (well it got me looking) actually researching the car, proved that it was no pushover. When I saw a TII for sale with 97,000 miles, I jumped on it. Now I've had it for 2 years come February and it's my first car (got it a month after my 16th birthday). I think it just fits who I am. I've used literally every feature that car has, all the switches and *****, and I've never felt like I needed more. that car just fits like a glove, and all of my friends are jealous .

"why did you buy a 2nd gen rx7? "

I bought mine for $900 at the junkyard. (complete car) I figured I could part it out and make a few bucks. I grew to like it so I kept it..... $10k later and I love it.

I have owned Nissans, Had a N/a 300zx (1990), sold it and got a TT 300zx (1992), sold that and got a (1990)240sx swapped in a sr20det ( prior to the JDM Driftoo craze) sold that and built an all out drag TSI AWD talon (605Whp and broke every other day) sold that, while the talon was being built i also began restoring a 260z (1970something) sold the z about half way through cause someone offered me double than what i had in it. and thought to my self i have owned the most unreliable Imports ever created the only one i am missing is an RX-7, so i found a turbo II and i love it. Up until it blew up.
