Not for now. I plan on building it as a spare after test fitting is finished!
Ordered large hunk of aluminum today. Cost $700. 15" diameter and 8" long.

if by solid you mean using rod ends vs. bushings, that's going to depend on how much street use this'll see and how much maintenance work you to do. the rod ends will need a lot more upkeep, so it depends on how much wear and tear they'll get and how often you want to replace them. if you want a smoother ride w/ less maintenance go w/ bushings, if you want a racier suspension go w/ rod ends.
Yo...Auto Illusions, I am interested in one of your SS 3 rotor exhaust flanges.. Can you please email a pic of it to me and the specs on it? I know you have explained everything about it in this thread but its too long for me to search thru. I want to see pics of it and want to know which type of ss it is made of...304?? 321?? Also is it a CNC , Laser cut, water jet??? How thick is it??? What is the total price shipped with tracking to 90250?? Do you accept a Confirmed shipping address paypal payment?? Well, finally working on the car again. Planning on having it running in 3-4 months!
The new subframe is in, motor, custom trans spacer, Tremec tko liberty trans and 8.8 ford diff are all mounted up and fitting nice. I ordered stainless for new header and exhaust, a carbon fiber drive shaft (ouch), driveshaft shop axles and a tilton carbon carbon twin disc clutch. Next is the Motec m800, radiator, oil coolers and air to water intercooler setup to finish the purchasing part of the project!
I am working on mounting up the steering rack tonight.
I really wish i could post some new pictures i have. My web designer is a smuck and left me high and dry with my password no longer working to access my picture storage from my web space and can't post pics right now. (any help would be appreciated!)

Here is a picture of the transmission with custom input shaft to keep the shifter in the stock location and to allow room for the twin disc clutch and hydraulic style throw out bearing.

what kinda 1/4 time you looking for? you car wont e able to qaulify for any class, but maye run the back half cars... Nice car tho looks great, im going to be building a 20b fd for pro street tires. minus the rear you have...lol beefy im going to keep stock...

I worked on mounting the steering rack to my custom subrame last night.
The rack mounts in perfectly but the photos don't do much justice.
Check out the rectangle tubes with welded in recess for steering rack bushings and 5/8" tubing inserted and welded in to keep the tubing from crushing when tightening!
The entire subframe and plate is all made up of chromoly and tig welded!
You will also notice the front tube in the subframe houses a hollow tube sway bar. WAY COOL and i am sure this is an original idea that has not been done yet but will probably be copied.
It solves the weak sway bar mount problem and stiffens up the whole subframe by picking up an extra mounting point.
I will be working on the bump steer issue, i have a chasis builder friend that has a bumpsteer tool of some sort. I havn't seen it yet but they use them on race cars when mounting steering racks and suspension components from scratch!

Had the pleasure of visiting the car in person for the first time in a few months. The pictures in these posts do not demonstrate the quality of Rich's fabrication skills. This project should be an inspiration to everyone on the forum -- a do it yourself project taken to the highest level. I'm ready to trade in my wrenches and have Rich build my next car.... for those who know me, that's a heavy comment! Keep the updates coming with lots of pictures!

Did you engineer the sway bar as an integraded part of the custom fabed sub-frame or does the sway bar pass through it (like a hollow tube)?
