1000 HP 20B Street Car Project
Very nice work...
I am curious what measures you took to ensure proper driveshaft operation angle?
When fabricating the subframe, did you opt to keep the pinion as close to inline or exactly in line with the output shaft of the transmission?
What about centerline alignment of the output of the differential to the hub? Did you keep this at factory location? Make sense?
Also what style Differential did you use? Mark Williams sells two different kinds, and to me, they look the same, except there is about a $300 price difference between the two posi units. Did you also have to machine anything down to get those billet main caps to fit?

I centered the trans and the motor in the car. Again, as long as the offset angle is the same at each end, a little offset will not hurt.
I am using the Thunder bird housing (same as cobra mustang but cast iron as apposed to aluminum) - using mark williams billet yoke, bearing caps, drive shaft and universals.
A little gringing needed to fit the bearing caps was needed but not too bad.
Has this project died?
It has been like 3 years from the beginning and also the links of www.Auto-Illusions.com don't work anymore.

Any way, i had to pick another domain name since i could not find out how to get that one back for now. Check out our new (un-finished web site) if you need to get ahold of me.

I haven't worked on the car much. Still trying to get the intake manifold machined. Turning out to be pretty much impossible as of now but currently working on a promising place. Well see!
The provider for my web site went out of business (joker.com or something like that)

naw, i was just kidding.
pretty old thread. I started my 20b project last October and finished it in june 2007. And i moved the motor back 9 inches to boot. I can't believe how it takes so long for most people to finish , except c moniker, his car i understand.

i met this guy about 18 months ago at this shop in pittsburgh. Super nice guy and the car was mega mega clean. He runs what seems to be a very successful stereo shop. As far along as the car was when i saw it, i would doubt he would abandon the project, especially considering how much money he had tied up the motec alone.
well, i don't even remember what this project looks like, but it would be nice to see how close it is to being completed given the time it began.
that FD crash (a few posts up) story sounds interesting, too.
