What did you do to your FB today?
Just yesterday I changed the gear oil in the transmission with Lucas 80/90 and ATF. No change so far in the 3rd gear grind. I hope it at least improves somewhat. In a week or so I'll probably change to a 75/25 mix of Lucas & ATF.

Started her today and let her warm up. She's out of commission at the moment due to me not wanting her to be my DD so she's sitting. Will be putting non-oxy gas in the tank with some fuel stabilizer and getting ready to store her for the winter. Looking forward to the issues that will get fixed, but want to take her out for a long cruise first. Fricken MN winters..
I don't think it peels off clean after so long.. plus don't they make clear Plasti Dip? That would have been the best option. Plus the front end of the SA is so small when it comes to the area where you get bugs and rock chips that I wouldn't even worry about it. Now my mom's Veloster? That thing eats bugs like crazy and needs a bra lol.

SA's that get a lot of highway time get rock-beat mainly on the panels to either side of the grille, the face of the front bumper, the leading edges of the front valance, hood and headlight covers, and on the windshield trim.
Yeah but at least it's not a flat faced car, there's a lot of angle to most of it. We have a ton of bugs here from time to time and I don't have near as many problems with them as I have with my other cars.
I did nothing with mine today.. just looked at her.. might go for a ride later if the rain holds off.

took calipers off to give a touch up of paint. found out that one of the banjo bolts was stripped. so I ordered a new set of FD calipers. They wanted $75 for one FC caliper and I got two FD calipers for $95. I consider that a deal. they are much much more sexi in person too.
As far as work, I buckled my fender and it was bent in half, it cracked and split my ronin flare, and it completely ripped the air damn off. this is from a left hand turn.
the picture shows the fender after I unbent it and sanded the ronin flares so they wont scream "Im broken" to everyone. I also have a flat so please ignore it.
the other picture is the engine bay as it sits now which is done

car.

Peels right off with no harm done under it. I just got tired of the old one whenever
I washed the car and it flapping at speed sometimes. In my case I use a bra to cover
the damage that years of road use has wrought. Someday if I get the car repainted
I'll look into the 3M clear covering instead.
Also the sloped faces of the front of our cars allow for easier chipping because the
air is less turbulent as it goes up and over so things can hit the paint much easier.
With a boxy front end, your pushing a wall of air in front of the vehicle and that acts
partially as a cushion to slow down the damaging particles and helps lift them further
away from the front edge.
drove it as usual, only today some ******* in a raised truck pulled out doing an illegal u-turn from walmart and i slid right into him.........FML.
cars relatively ok, it worked out him being so high up and my car being so low, kind of slid under him only hit his wheel. and caught the nose on his bumper.
this is why my RX2 wont be street legal for a while, people drive like ****.

Yours, however, looks great! Now you've got me considering extending it to the sides and over the bumper like you did. Very nice work.

.
The Plasti-dip bra will make it more difficult for the cop's "lasers" to bounce back! they will probably have to choose something else more reflective on your car. Hint: black out your turn signals a bit.

I "winterized" my car. I.e. cleaned the battery terminals. So all you super mechanics, is there any way to protect the battery terminals from corrosion other than dielectric grease, or vasoline, or that crummy battery spray protectant that is less effective than the grease????.
There has to be some application developed after all these years that will last more than 6 fricken months!!

ut oh now they'll be guys all cover covering their cars in plasti-dip and blackening out their lens lol
Maybe DD can go over to the Lockheed folks and get me some of that stealth paint they use in the fighters.
