Pulled the trans out of the parts car. We had been having too much fun driving it around and managed to snap the shaft at the reverse gear.

Then I suggest you not nickname it 'A Pale Horse.' She might Google the reference and take offense!

Drilling 24 holes in a perfect paint job made me queasy, but the outcome was pretty sweet!

well considering it's been 2 1/2 years'ish ... and it had an engine, exhaust and etc installed and has been running for all but the first 2 weeks of that 2 1/2 years when she was finally able to drive it I told her it must be the 7th sign

Installed my new drilled and slotted rotors, and changed out an axle shaft and bearing.

Was tired of my phone charger, gps, or etc charging cord always being in the way. Since the cigarette lighter wasn't designed back then to be a charging port.
I made one with a regular 12 volt plug in, and a USB charging port, its wired to constant hot with an on/off rocker switch.

Also made a fiberglass electric fan shroud. I was gonna paint it, but decided to spray it with a thin coat of bedliner.

A parts yard not too far from my house. Nice find, from a somewhat clean GSL with 174k miles on it. Will be rebuilt and done up perfectly before being installed with all new bushings. Pretty stoked

Ordered the manifold for the Camden, got the wideband bung in, the dual EGT came in a few days ago. Got some wiring and plumbing ahead of me, should be a productive week.

Over the weekend I continued to work on the left front wheel on my 85 GSL-SE. The spring had collapsed before I bought the car and the shock was shockingly bad. I bought oem springs for the front and oem replacement cylinders. This was a much more difficult task that I expected. I dont have an impact wrench so to get the locknut off the end of the shock I ended up using hacksaw disassembly techniques. Then grinding flats on the strut shaft so I could grip it in a vise and finally wrench off the locknut. The 52mm cap on the original strut was also stuck in place. The original shocks were rebuildable so getting rid of the oily guts of the original was somewhat messy. Anyway, the new cylinder is installed, just have to put it all back together on the car and then do the other side. It would probably be advantageous to replace the rubber bits in the front suspension while I have it apart.

Cool to hear you got it off. Definitely redo the "rubber bits" while it's off - you'd regret it if you didn't. Welcome, by the way

I'm starting seriously researching my suspension upgrades, liking what I see

Thanks! They're a copy of a set of ZG flares that are made for old Datsun 240z/280z models.
