I drove her around the cul-de-sac with her just to warm her up. Hadn't been driven in over a month - felt amazing compared to my DD now.
Found these in the salvage yard - pleasant surprise when I wasn't even expecting any to be there! I will be taking the LSD from the 84 to swap into my GS after a rebuild. And I found out that this salvage yard charges about $160 before tax for an engine block... will probably go around tax return season and get myself a complete 12a from front cover to the other end of the engine for a possible rebuild and swap into my car for next season. Pretty stoked about this winter so far
1984 GSL - fully complete, will be taking the entire rear axle for mine!

1983 - Had a nice interior with options - cool car.

Here's some better comparison shots of the "VacMet" finish versus the original, and also some side-by-sides of how I changed the interior thickness.
Left side original chromed part; right side repro with VacMet coating

Nice job DD looks factory, I drove mine to town after that trip realized I may need to tweek the carb a bit smooth until I go to kick open the secondaries and she pulled but, popped alot. . . was an ok drive though great road manners at 85mph.
today I have been trying to figure out if I could/should make a hood out of this huge piece of plexiglass I got. It is big enough an dis 3/8" thick. I could possibly paint over it in the future if I don't like it and it would be a hella lot easier than making a fiberglass one from scratch. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

As cool as it would look, it probably wouldn't last too long and it might make one hell of a mess when it goes.

After my drive I mulled over the issue with my Pops (high rpm cut out) and his suggestion was try the new cap and rotor from my backup dizzy since the issue seemed like a miss-fire or cross fire and the coils, wires, and plugs were new and it wasn't doing this before, he nailed it, the contacts inside the cap were just toasted and corroded BADDLY. Installed the new set and BAM ran perfect, guess that's what I get for not just using the new cap and rotor to start with. lesson learned haha.
thanks for the advice. I will find another purpose to use that sheet for.
Today I drove the seven through rush hour traffic to get to workl. I am leaving early to finish the exhaust. gonna be fun./

Replacement springs came in for the 85-SE and I started the process to pull the strut assembly off the car on the front left.
On the 85-EV (its a GSL converted to a plug in electric) I got the washers spraying again sort of.

^^dream, that is a sick looking sa, i love how you incorporated the retro looking decals into your plans!
as for me, i just put more of the magic golden liquid that my magical doritos crave oh so much. 14.5 mpg ftw. will also be coming up on my first oil change this weekend. going from buena park to irvine and back 5 days a week racks up the miles, just ticked over 130,000 not too long ago. i also realized that i have no idea how to operate the rear wiper.....

Filled the transmission and rearend, put the axles back in, brakes back on, checked the torque on lots of bolts, changed the oil filter, ordered all of the final little things I need to get it going.
On the new $600 FB, it wouldn't idle and ran really bad under 2000rpm. My friend removed the smog pump and acv stuff. He made a block off plate for the acv, we capped off some vacuum ports, adjusted the tps a little and the thing idles and runs just fine. We bought this one with the PO saying it had bad apex seals, we haven't done a compression check, but for being NA, it's pretty quick and runs just fine.
