Yes it does, I went to the dealership to order it. It said it came with the gasket, but that was not in the box, so now I wait for another week ?

you can make your own gasket, and you can use RTV sealant, Indian Head Shellac Gasket Maker, and products than you can shake a stick at. Just keep that **** out of the bolt holes

The big deal/important thing here is you definitely need a jiggle hole in the t-stat. You can make your own by punching a hole in the flat spot. Or you can do it the right way, and get a t-stat that has the jiggle hole.

Without that hole, air gets trapped below the t-stat, so the t-stat never senses the hot coolant, and therefore won't open.

but it was nice to see all the new Mazdas that I can't afford!<---CKforker {you got it all wrong, you can afford to keep you old rx-7 because you have the mechanical acumen that others don't have and they can't afford to keep an old car}}

I bet that gold color is really brass.

The guy that painted the car for the previous owner didn't do a good job masking, so I used some alcohol and PlastX to clean up the license light lenses.

One of the license bulbs was burnt out, the 89 bulb that was specified in all the catalogs for a 1985 was too big. I found the Cec bulb 6253 on Amazon was the right size, voltage/wattage and works fine.

Those little bulbs are too dim and expensive...... I changed the sockets to use 194 LEDs.......

if you haven’t made one of these boards to hold a diff while making final carrier preload adjustments, I can’t recommend it more 👍
Merry Christmas!

You're definitely doing it wrong unless there's beer involved!

Victory v12 was my go to for years. Andechs Doppelbock Dunkel is great if you can get it too.

There’s soft jaws in there for the center, I’ll try that next time. Got .0040, .0038, .0035 and .0040 around that ring for lash. With an L spread of 7.3033”

Even with the caps fully torqued to spec. The adjuster rings spun easily with a 12” tool and when using the archived “as tight as reasonable with a 12” tool” I initially over spread the caps by .050” and could have gone further. Just an fyi, it doesn’t take much to over do the carrier bearing preload.

One bottle bavarian beer Andechs Doppelbock will bring you in a bad position to do such things. A half bottle will be enough🤣😂

sense and sensibility!

believe me you can feel it. Test backward and forward when you check the contact pattern. Think about the contact pattern picture will change the position under full load a little. Hope you understand my german english. Sorry

Miata 10 year jubilee diff Torsen 2 and bearing swap Rx7 S3 will working good and very quiet with:

I had ordered a GRacing short shifter and it already arrived, from Florida in a week!

Super high quality product and fit well, shifting feel is great, can't wait to drive the car.... in May.

I enlarged the diameter of the OEM upper rubber boot to fit around the new shifter, seals well.

Short shifter means the travel pattern on the shifter....not how tall or short is the shaft.....

Painted the rear view mirrors in satin black.

But I've been debating if I leave them like that or paint them matte black to match the trim........

They look great! But I understand the conundrum. If you hope to repaint the trim eventually I'd just leave them. They look nice.

And nice fabric boots on the shifter and P-brake. My first FB had a ratty stock shift boot and I made matching shift/brake boots out of an old chair I had that matched the cars interior color perfectly. Good looking interior Raven.

The problem with the trim is that I went a little crazy with it and the emblems.......

If you look closely....my trim and all the emblems i want them to be different....so they are coated in truck bed coating ......

That is why I'm thinking of matte black....

I hear you.......I got a almost new condition factory shift boot but I've been thinking to get a shift boot and e brake cover in black suede.... My new steering wheel is black suede. And I also plan to flock my dash pad and console.....

If we are going that random….

Thanks carl for the oil cooler! Collecting parts now for powder coat. Got the diff put back together, dropped right into the tube and everything feels smooth and right.

btw, I’m planning on matte black trim and na miata mirrors. Mock ups lock promising.

Edit: these are just the ones I’ve opened recently and from childhood. Lots more still in their packages, contact me if you have any older rotary stuff you want to trade 🙂 collection includes pretty much anything jdm interesting.

Don't make me show you all the little RX-7s I have...
For one thing, I'd have to dust them before taking a picture. It's embarrassing.

New boot floor to replace spare wheel well. This makes room for the bigger propane gas tank. Floor is bead rolled for strength and to match the factory bead rolling in the boot sheet metal.

Custom adjustable panhard rod is also fabbed up and ready for paint.
