Finally back on the road again! Exhaust is done, Banzai Racing really came through with the double alternator pulley! Those folks are outstanding! Most everything else I order these days is delayed, back ordered blah, blah, blah. Covid is the go to answer, nice to see a business that doesn't make excuses.
No more squealing from the water pump. I'm really looking forward to just driving it for awhile.
the OEM wheels polished really nice, parts were oxidized to the point of being black since 1990 when I bought the car. So I thought the new water pump would polish up too.

Mine where really bad.....I refinished them....took a lot of elbow grease....a lot of sanding.....but at the end I decided to paint them instead of polishing them....
that paint looks better , conservative , understated , sophisticated, expensive.......then again the OEM wheels are from the flashy disco early 80's
Hahaha.....not expensive......like $12.00 the can of Duplicor paint, $10.00 the VHT Hi Heat satin clear coat and about $10.00 for a 1/4 of semi gloss metal oil based black paint........ That is all I used ....spray painted the gunmetal gray and brushed in the black with a small brush and a steady hand ...
Today I fixed my passenger headlight motor. No more sleepy eye!
When I first got the car the issue was intermittent but then it seemed to fix itself. With the recent turbo work and engine rebuild the car hasn't seen much driving, and upon completion of everything the motor once again stopped working, and this time completely. Did a bunch of probing around and eventually decided to tear it apart. Turns out there are some diodes hiding behind the positioning wipers that, in my case, died of corrosion. After replacing them with some new diodes I had on hand we're all back to working again, woohoo!
I wasn't able to find anything documenting this process so I'll do a little write-up here pretty soon. Perhaps if you have some "bad" headlight motors this could be the problem.

Used my 7 to pick up some groceries after washing it, the kid collecting shopping carts comes up to me and starts gushing over it and says he's never seen one before.
I feel like I've come full circle because the first time I saw a first gen I was pushing carts for the same grocery chain.
That made up for the 2 morons who tried to cause a crash on the way to and from the car wash.
Changing lanes in front of me and hitting the brakes even though no one is in front seems to be a trend here.

don't worry, just a matter of time before hose 2 morons run into 2 other morons just like them, and they will oft themselves, leaving with 4 less morons out there.

Back in the 80s I lived in Austin and there were morons who did this on purpose to collect insurance when they got rear ended. Good to see it still goes on! Not!
Ever since I installed the header, it takes forever to get the engine up to operating temperature. Also, self inflicted, I closed the intake coolant ports. I never want to take off the carb again.
I made this prototype to try and get some warmer air when it’s cold. If it works, I’ll make something prettier. I really hope it works. The engine never gets warm before I get where I’m going and it’s not even cold yet.
Sounds crazy, but I drive about 10 miles each way and it's all highway. Never gets to OT. I installed it yesterday and 5 minutes into my drive, the choke popped in. I'm very happy with the results.
I'm gonna drive it for a couple weeks and then make a permanent one. It needs some trimming in places and more metal in others.
Does anyone have a substitute for the hose? I need to trim it for my final piece and don't want to ruin the original in case the next owner wants to put everything back to stock.
