TUR-BO!! TUR-BO!! I'm in favor of the turbo idea, you already have the TII drivetrain, a motor, and jesse has almost everything else.....YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Speaking of turbos, Jesse, what are you planning on doing with that blown turbo motor at KC's dads house?

I think most of your problems can be solved by tuning with a wideband O2 sensor. If you can wait until July, that's when I plan to experiment with Megasquirt tuning. There's a subsection for MS now: https://www.rx7club.com/megasquirt-forum-153/

That said, turbochargers work well with drag cars, and there are lots of guys making big power with Turbo-II setups.

I am as lost as you are man! I just dont understand how i can have so many problems. I mean it's not like this car is dificult to work on, i mean come on, it has a carb, and an ignition system. no fancy computers, no fancy sensors. I SHOULD just be able to slap a carb on it and call it a day. it's really not that hard. grrrrrrr. i hate this car!

Wide Band! http://www.widebandcommander.com/ kinda expensive for something that would not be used much on a carburated car. but it sure would tell me what is going on with that engine wouldnt it?...... then again, so would a stand alone right?

This one is a better unit, you can find them used if you look around.

As mentioned on their site, you can use the WB O2 sensor to check the effects of your carburator's jet settings. At the very least, you'll pick up HP from tuning to the proper Air/Fuel ratio. On a slightly scary note, you'll know if your car is running dangerously lean, so you can avoid detonating and ruining the motor.

Just to let everybody know I took my kar to this shop to see what was going on and my compression is 70/50 so i need a new motor. I do want to go turbo but if anybody knows of a cheap 13b i will also take that. So if anybody knows of any or has one PM me I got the kar at my house so I'll have to drop it in over here. If I kan get anybodys help with the swap I would greatly appreciate it.

I have a motor that I could sell you, I'd just need some help pulling it out. I'd sell it to yo fairly cheap, it had good compression. I think both rotor's were like 80-85, when my car WAS running, it ran really strong. I also got a stage 3 clutch if your interested.(since you would have the motor out) PM if your still interested any of it.

Zero, i would imagine your engine had a little more compression then that. your engine ran pretty good. also you might want to mention that your stage 3 clutch is made my cluth masters, and is fairly new.

The next practice is the day after Thanksgiving (11-25-05). The details haven't been announced yet, so you'll need to keep checking the website to find out where to send money. http://www.solo2.com/eventpage.asp?eid={11F342CF-C658-439F-A712-EFCDAEA45E9B}

There's a championship that Sunday (11-27-05), too. You don't get as much track time, but you know what they say about a bad day at the races...

Yea, I guess it would have better compression. I don't think I did it right when I checked the compression. I guess more like 90-95 then.

And yes my clutch is very new. I think I put like 75 miles on it. I bought it from Casey, it was on his drag car and he never got a chance to beat on this clutch. And if any of you other guys are interested in the clutch just PM me.
