well todays meet was a good one. something like 14 cars! it was nice to see more then 1 or 2 FD's (4 to be exact!)

Dave, hope you get that pretty engine up and running. sorry to see that happen. you missed a good trip down. we really got to open it up on the way down!

Dave that sucks about your motor, I know what that's like. That canyon run was fun, saw someone spin out in a RX-8.

hey i got the motor torn down. chipped the corner of one of the seals in the rear rotor. not terrible, but i wanna build it back up with the 9:1 rotors i have.

anyone got a set of 3mm corner seals i can pick up like RIGHT NOW??? i wanna have the car running by sun-up!

if you have the 3mm corner seals, gimme a call 909-953-3447. i'll come n get them and give you money + ******* or whatever.

decembers meet is going to be changed to the first weekend in december...this is only gonna happen once (to avoid confusion)...... but for everyones benefit, we think this a good idea.......mainly due to the solo racing event that is on the day our meet is supposed to happen....and we would lose alot of people to it!

so....next monthly meet is on saturday, december 3rd....... please keep posting the new date so everyone knows! thanx

 

there are TWO reasons for the change. we did the same thing last year.... sorta.

Last year due to the christmas holiday, we thought it would be better for everyones scedual to just not have a meet in Dec. but that really sucked! it made it so that it was 2 months between meets! thisi s way to long. so this time we are just going to push it forward a week.

SO ONCE AGAIN...... DUE TO CHRISTMAS AND THE SOLO2 EVENT, WE WILL BE PUSHING THE DECEMBER MEET UP A WEEK, IT WILL NOW BE ON DEC 3RD! THIS IS A ONE MONTH ONY THING.

so this gives me an idea. i've done 1-day rebuilds before. i've done mobile rebuilds before. how about a 1-day, mobile rebuild service?? we come to you, tear your **** down, put it back together in your driveway or garage!

well casey there was a grey 8 there and did 15.1s of course me with crappy tires that r cracking and low tire pressure still spun the tires all threw 1 to 4 th gear and almost hit 5th just to get it to hook up but still had somewhat fun. i need to take my other se in the backyard and get the rearend and talk to my friend about those slicks i see on his car to let me borrow them.

 

yeah slicks make a big differance. 15.1 from the 8? i see he was having the same hook up problem i was having. although it seems he got a ltitle better traction then i had. I think (know) i was launching just to high. all well, i just cant wait to get the seven on the track!

 

You are the man, I might need your express service sometime. When you are ready Dave lets try that mountain run again. It's always nice to have another FD to run with. You went with 9:1 rotors?

 

Casey, would you guys like to make a meet event for the drags? I'll bring my Weekend Warrior trailer, BBQ. Its real nice to have RV there so you can chill in it between races. I use to do it all the time (last year). We use to have about 12-15 cars in our group(SRT-4, Evo, STI, RX-7, Camero). Bad thing is you only get in maybe 3 runs for an all day event that sucks. But its nice to hang there and watch others run. What do you guys think??

 

yea. i'm going to that speedventures thing next friday and i wanna rape on the car. i'm glad it popped yesterday--instead of at the track. cool thing is it still fired up, held idle, and even pulled 20+" of vacuum on decel. minimal damage internally, but the rotor housing got a small score in the exact wrong place. i used some other housings i had laying around. the exhaust ports are a tad larger anyway.

i'll go back to 9:1 for now, just because that's what i'm used to, but i'll definately do another high-compression turbo motor in the future (although that one will probably run on race gas). i'm not scrapping the idea, but it's a pretty steep learning curve.

i'm not 100% sure why it overboosted because the boost was solid at my house... about the only thing i can think of besides component failure or a stuck wastegate is maybe the altitude had something to do with it.. (we were at a lower elevation than where i live)

and ****! i took a break but fell asleep around 4 or 5 in the morning. so a 4-hour recharge and back to it with me. it's on the hoist ready to drop in. i'll try to get it fired up today, although i'm not in as big of a hurry as i was yesterday.

 

Dave, make sure you keep us updated. nice to see you got her up and running so fast. (well, it will be upi and running)

Ryan, I think that would be a lot of fun! although racing the 8 is not a whole hell of a lot of fun, it would still be fun to get together as a group and all race against each other!

 

it was the blue 7 not the drag car you no chases old car. and he did use the traction control i talked to him and said it helped

 

motor is in the car bolted to the tranny. i might take a nap because i'm having trouble standing. so whenever it gets done....whatever. i'm too tired to care right now.
