It sounds like to me that your dumbass friend's car was impounded for an engine swap and he didn't have the cash to get it out and pay the fines. I highly doubt the judge actually destroyed the car as punishment for the engine swap. If your friend removed all the smog equipment like the catayltic converter, then the fine could of been more than the car was actually worth. I guess if you show me the court papers that your friend has, I'll believe you. Until then it reeks of **** and I have NEVER heard of it happening in the 10 years of being in the import scene. Not to mention, me being a cop.

If you didn't realize, law enforcement agencies have different assignments for their officers. Some are responsible for responding to 911 calls and patrolling the streets. Their jobs is to issue tickets and pull people over. Not to run investigations on rapes or robbery cases. That is the job of the investigation unit. Please do not comment on an officer's job if you have no ******* clue and are just assuming because of what you see on T.V.

 

It doesnt matter if it was cause he didnt want to pay the fines or not.. I think crushing the car is the only option if the fines are around 30K for having almost no emissions on an illegal swap. It doesnt matter. All I stated was that they can & will do that. I didnt say they would crush it for no reason. I also had a friend whose R33 skyline almost got crushed for illegally driving it on the streets. But it didnt cause he paid the fines & got it registered correctly

I think what he meant was more cops should be assigned to catch people committing real crimes. And less cops assigned to give bullshit traffic tickets.

 

Those "bullshit" tickets are there to give the departments some kind of revenue to keep your taxes lower. I guess if you wanted, they can write less tickets and raise the taxes to help pay for our below average salaries. How does that sound? Then everybody would get punished not just the people that have a heavy foot and can't obey the rules.

Yes, I would rather pay a little more taxes and cut out all the bullshit tickets, and for that matter the highway patrol almost altogather. If there wasn't so many cops on duty everyday looking to giveout BS tickets we wouldn't need so much revenue.

 

Traffic officers only issue tickets maybe 10% of their shift. They are responding to 911 calls and accidents for the other 90%. You still want to slim down the force?
