Here's the deal, the Tein suspension will give you more clearance on the inside, and the 20mm overfender will give you more clearance on the outside. You could try the +18 offset like mine. I'll try diggin up a picture of my wheels.

The difference between a 285/40R17 and 2745/40R17 is 1/3" (8mm), not that big a deal. My car is still on stock suspension, so no it's not very low. But it doesn't make much of a difference, bottoming out stock suspension or lowered stiffer springs have the same effect. I've had to bang it out and pull it out with a baseball bat a few times after finding different places that were rubbing.

when i cut out my fenders, i cut all the way down to the moulding, and grinded a little bit of hte material off along the back edge of the moulding area. probably not a measurable amount, but you can kinda tell in the pics that theres a curve to the back edge now where some metal is missing.
i run 315/35/17 kumho v710's, which are the exact same height as 275/40/17's (and therefore 8mm shorter than a 285). as you can sorta see, i have rubber all along the back edge of the moulding area. the tire eats through the zip tie every couple of autox's.
FWIW i have spherical control arm bearings, so its not just from old-bushing flex.
PS, ignore the gay wheels lol. thems drift spares for this weekend.
i might be getting some 17x12.5 i dunno what the offset is but with how wide they are what offset could i get away with? that is without rubbing on suspension. (ground control sleeve overs)
Ah, this is good news. I may not end up with the 18x8 +45's, the seller's being dumb. However I found some 17x9 +20's. I think I'd be happier with those.

Got my wheels on today. 17x8 +35 front and 17x9 +43 rear. They fit perfectly with no fender roll and no rubbing. The rears are a little close to lower control arm, maybe 1/8th to 1/4 inch but I do not think it is anything to worry about. Tires are 235/40/17 front 255/40/17 rear. I'll post pics tomorow or somethin'
So I'm a little confused on what will and won't fit with this car so I figured I would go ahead and ask..been searching and I'm still a little confused..

17x8 +25 front and 17x9 +17 rear should clear the suspension and work with the stock body fine or would some rolling be required? Going to be dropping the car on stance coilovers soon..not sure how low I'll actually be going yet though.

From my experience you will need to roll fenders. Unless you are going with 215 fronts and 235 rears, it might work. I think 17x8 +35 is perfect for the front and 17x9 +35 is perfect for the rear with no roll or pull. I have 17x8 +35 f and 17x9 +43 rear and it is perfect but the rears could come out a little safely.
Thanx. So far so good. only about an 1/8th inch clearance in many different places but I think thats fine. Every one told me the rears would not fit but they did, apparently. lol

Yes it should work with minor fender work. It will be very close to the stock suspension though... A 10" wheel with +18 offset will work better, as the tire will fit the wheel better, maybe giving a better contact patch...

Maybe I missed it, but I can't find out what tires this guys runnin when he rolls his fenders again. Just wondering what size rears he's running if anybody knows? His names Martin and his FC has the nicest roll I've ever seen on the rear quarters.
