Question

I just ordered 5zigen fn01r-c wheels. 17x8, 5x114.3+25mm for front and 17x9, 5x114.3+35mm in rear. I have Tein s-tec lowering springs 1" all around. What kind of tires should I run with this? I don't want it to look obnoxious. I want it to look good! Did I pic the right offsets for my FC?

There's a table and formulae on page 185 with more information, however:

fronts are fine as is. you can run 235 nicely.

rears might need a 5mm spacer - depends on the tires. Rears will handle 245 or 255, maybe 265 - but that's a push.

Cheers

Don't know why you wouldn't go 17's all round, but that's just me - and it depends on what you're going to use the car for of course.

All the best regardless

I'm currently running 18x9 +15 all around on stance coilovers with no rubbing issues in the front on the coilovers. I'm wondering if I switch to a 18x9.5 +20 if I will run into issues with the wheel rubbing the coilover in the front? Wheel calculator says 11mm less clearance about .43 inches on the inside.

How about 17's for the front and two sets of rears? One for street, one for drag. Micky's have heaps of options for 15's and 16's - not to mention the many choices for street legal semi slicks. You might pick up some cheaper ford rims for the drag set(?) Just a thought =) All the best

Can't help re ther fronts, but will fit on the back - though a +25 offset on a 9.5" would be better.
Cheers

I'm pretty sure i'll have to run a 5mm spacer up front. Ohh well time to bust the fender roller back out.

You'll need about a 17mm offset or lower to use 17x9.5 wheels without rubbing the coils. It's gonna be a tight fit, make sure your wheel bearings have ZERO slop

i have no problem going 17" but the hard problem i have is finding a lightweight wheel that i also like how it looks, i am a simple and basic fan

I haven't sifted through the nearly 200 pages of this, so I'm sorry if this is a repost.

http://www.rimsntires.com/rt_specs.jsp

I'm sure it's probably not perfect, but should give a decent idea at least.

Oye Nick, just run some 17x8 +30ish, 17x9 + 30ish on your car. You can get some 245s up front and some 265s in back. Just gotta roll your fenders, which is no big deal.

My Mazdaspeed wheels are 17x8+34, 17x9+35 and I can run 245s and 255s easy. Just hammered on the oversized exhaust heat shields a little. My fenders aren't even rolled.

Oh and simple, yet fairly light and not super expensive, run some Enkei RPF01s. I actually want some now

I cringe at some of the offsets listed in this thread.

Fixing to be running:

17x9.5 +9 Front

17x9.5 -10 rear.

No overs. Stock metal. Slammed.

17x9+30? Jesus christ....

Yes +30. Flush = lame as **** if you can't fit any rubber down there. Maxing out your camber and stretching the **** outta your tires is not only gay, it's unsafe too. Plain and simple. I bought a performance car to perform and grip the road so I can go through courses as fast as possible. Lowest offset I've seen in the back for some serious rubber was Karack. I think he was in the +20's and had 285s in the back with stock fenders.

17x9 +30 is only 15mm closer to the suspension than stock wheels.

My 17 x 10 +18's fit 275's in the back with a slight roll, and I could still get away with a bit higher offset. On stock suspension. (and if you can't calculate offsets, a 17 x 10 +18 has the same backspacing as 17 x 9 +30

edit: Maybe this thread should be separated into drifter offsets and the rest of the automotive community?
