I am so excited for the borgwarner!! I think it will produce the nicest curves on teh dyno, and by that I mean it seems like it will have the most useful powerband

Awesome thread

Got the 3574 at the min. Looking at going bigger. Love the modular manifold system. Wish my setup did that !

no doubt you are as antsy as i am to get this project on the rollers. if it was as simple as just fixturing the turbos we would have been there.

i made my switch to a T56 6 speed gearbox and it has been the principle delay. i had expected being running 3/31!

from my perspective it was worth the time invested. i needed it for road racing and for my 200 mph deal at the Texas Mile. that now is going to be April 2011 due to me being behind schedule.

first on the list is the dyno project.

here's a few pics of where i am:

getting close(r) to rolling down the road..

i just had to have a Hurst shifter. that is a GTO transmission shifter assembly bolted onto the top of my 99 F body (Camaro) trans. F body has the best ratios for road racing. hat optional. my daughter is a professional antique book restorer and works alot w leather. she is making me a custom leather shifter boot. oh, i am running a Lou's Short Stick (google it). it is a bit shorter and has a better angle. seems perfect. i also did not have to touch the stock hole in the tunnel. sharp eyes will note the sandwich plate for my rear trans brace.

Beyond Redline really tuned up my exhaust system to fit the Samberg rear diff subframe and around the trans while keeping it pretty straight..

here's how they dealt w the missing exhaust mount that attached to the missing PPF

close up

the main event. i modded the stock tunnel brace and added a bracket so i can run the stock Mazda pan under the trans. i am really big on nothing hanging down under the car..

bellhousing, thank you Mazda, and IronMdnX

the auto starter is slick and does not get in the way of anything

new for this year are non stock trail coils. i have run the blue lead coils for a few years. each (lead) is backed up by a Jacobs FC3000 amp located in the bin behind the driver's seat.

BOV located in the right place. i still need to relocate my intake air temp sensor to the pipe between the IC and the elbow.

the magic of methanol delivered at pulse width... 2000 CCs. (i have to move the breather tank rearward a tad.)

soon.

hc

Is that a steel adapter plate between the bell-housing and t56?

It will be cooler and dryer in April than October down here.
Thus you will make more power!

i have made alot of progress during the last few days... the major worry in the back of my mind was the hydraulic clutch release bearing that was sized by Quartermaster. if it was not spot on an awful lot of install work would have had to been revisited along w the removal of the Tremec 6 speed trans. i am relieved to say all went well and i have a clutch. my to do list is winding down and the dyno session is getting closer.

parties that have followed the thread realise that there has been alot more than just the fixturing of the engine for the 4 turbos. i won't bore you w the details but when the car is back down on the ground it will be ready for the dyno project and a trip to Blackhawk Farms road course to evaluate a couple of sets of Pettit Trak Pro coil overs and my RacingBrakes.

i am leaving for Jackson Hole Sep 10 and return on the 16th. i expect the dyno session to start very shortly after my return.

G'day from Australia

really interested in making the change to a T-56 in an FC! and i already have a friend looking at going the same direction in an FD

would you be able to post more details about the adapter plate plate that you have?

is the input shaft length ok to sit in the spigot or did it require modification? then did you use the standard flywheel and clutch with a resplined disc?

i read that you had quatermaster change the hydraulic clutch, was the just the length at which it disengages the clutch?

sorry for all the questions, nobody over here has ever made the conversion as far as i can tell and im not quite sure where to start
