Mike: you had the kumho Supra tires which are more for dry weather only.

I just bought full set of Kumho Ecsta ASX for my car which should be here next week. then i'll have some MOVING tires for anyone with FD size rims.

yeah, I know, but they weren't all to great in the dry either... they might have just been really worm by the time I bought the car, so I don't know.

I'm getting some falken azenis, I've heard nothing but good things about them.

im seeing that they have shorter tread life than most cars in exchange for good grip (typical ultra-performance tire problem). also able to handle drastic problems like sidewall blowout at 80 without making you lose control. some people complaining how theyre noisier than most tires and have a spongy/floaty feeling durring "spirited" drives. wet grip seems to be really good with not a single complaint on that

have to let us know how good or bad they really are.

my brother has them on both his cars and loves them. but yeah, don't expect much mileage out of them lol, that's not really what they're designed for. they're actually not horrible in the rain though.

as for all the other crap, I've never heard of any of it. *shrug*

Well ive been talking with Summit point since early fall and I know what I need for a day rental and am thinking of a friday day which means some people, if you wanted to show would have to take off to take advantage of the entire day.

We would open the gates the night before so people could bring vehicles in...I honestly dont expect anyone to do that so I was planning on a little late night drift session. The gates would open at 9 AM Friday morning. Try and get everyone teched as soon as they come in and have a drivers meeting at about 9:45. For all the people who come whenever they come I would like to do a drivers meeting every hour, 15 minutes before the hour.

We will have EMS, wrecker and corner workers to direct everyone.

Im looking to do this at the Jefferson Circuit. Whatever money we collect over whats neccesary to rent the track I would take to the local wallmart and pick up hot dogs and hambergers and sodas, water and what not for folks.

The idea is to get some people on track and have them just take there cars around the track. I would like to have a few instructors available (dont know how that would get done) to ride along to give pointers to people. Give them a couple laps at a time with timming equipment so they can keep track of there lap times.

Classes would be broken down into 3 catagories. 4 classes per catagory. The catagories are Street, Street Modified, and Modified. Street is for bone stock vehicles, Street modified will allow small upgrades like wheels and tires, intakes and exhaust. We arent final on what we will allow in Street Modified or require to be in Modified. Modified are for well modified vehicles. Anything with cages, aftermarket turbo kits, full suspention mods etc. Within those catagories the classes are simply FF, AWD, MR and RR.

Im actually looking to keep the crowd small so that we can have ALOT of track time. So 25 spots is what im thinking of restricting it too as far as drivers. That would leave about 3.5 hours of track time split between the drivers before lunch.

Lunch time...drift what you brung. If it techs and you want it sideways have at it for an hour.

After lunch which should also be used to make adjustments to whatever you would like to adjust or check on your vehicle, were back to time attacking. Once thats done I want one more brake to allow more adjustments or cooling down cars or fixing whatevers broken for everyones last runs. I want to allow drifting during that time as well.

One last session of time attack before having everyone head home. We havent been able to tie down anything for prizes yet so we cant offer anything other than the ability to hone your skills and bragging rites.

If that interests you you can get some more info from me personally. e-Mail me at DaGoatCorollaGTS@yahoo.com. I can start taking information and deposits.

Why Jefferson and not the Shenandoah? The Jefferson was designed as a training course for high speed maneuvering. I think the Shenandoah is a more technical course.

I'm certainly in, what sort of prices are we looking at, where can we find the tech sheets? And which month are you looking to do this in? I know summit allows camping on the infield at some events, is it allowed for this one or do we need to look into a hotel?

Quite simply the Shenandoah [SIC] was ALOT more expensive and required more corner workers to pay. As a first time event hoster working with the track the Jefferson was also easier to secure as far as their schedual is concerned. That and a friend of mine holds the track record for the Jefferson and I want to see how close I can come in a street car to bustin his *****.

Because Im concerned with getting as much track time for drivers as possible I have to keep the number of drivers down. Spreading the cost over a smaller number of people means average cost is going to be higher. I havent decided if im going to ask for $200 or $250. Again anything over what covers the cost of rentals and workers will go to some food and beverages for everyone. Im really not concerned with pocketing money right now. The attention and good times are far more valuable to me and my company than anything.

Yes camping and electricity is available for anyone who needs it. I think this option though is an additional 20 dollars which is paid directly to the track, not me. Again I do plan on asking for overnight security so that we can have the gates open the evening before. Ive camped out at Summit Point before and it was an absolute blast. I would never suggest anyone to get a hotel.

Im working on a website for the event right now. It will have the tech sheets on them or if you want I can have registration emailed to you.

Just email me at the info in my sig below...

It'll die as soon as I stop revving it though. I have a thread in the 2nd gen forum questioning about my vacuum lines. I'm really happy with having gotten this far though. I have to thank Jason for 80-90% of the knowledge that I needed to do this.

Thank you.

Prod...I've seen you post before. It's weird because your profile says Penn State/Somd.

I was at State College and now I'm in SoMD. Wish I was back at State College...
