Will that thing actually move on it's own, much less with you on it?

Hey, with an untuned, undersized carbie, I got it to 25mph :P

I cant even fit my pinky finger into the carb entry hole.

It'll go over 30 downhill!

I just need to remove the intake restrictions and tune the carb, it should do 35 flat.

I could fab up an exhaust and pop a larger carb on there, and it would go 45 flat, still getting over 100mpg :P

Apparently the law for how old the vehicle has to be to get those took effect today. Any car over 20 years old is eligable. A lot of the offices don't know about it yet though, I had to talk to the supervisor of the office I was at (Beltsville) and he had to call the main office to confirm.

its 20 years if they dont make the car anymore. 25 if they still do. RX-7 i could see getting it as ther isnt a real RX-7 made anymore...but the corolla....

Jason: get the scooter back together so we can race them. you get the scooter and i'll take the moped since i can get it started easier than you

the rules changed as of the 1st. it's 20 years no matter what now. the old rule was if the /make/ wasn't made anymore, so in order to get a rx-7 plates at 20 years mazda would have to go out of business. I like the new rule better

Hey guys. Wow, I havent been on this thread in a very long while.

I think I forgot I even owned an FD. I just realized it this week thanks to all the work ive been doing on my single conversion!

I am very close to finnishing the car up. Whats funny is the harness I had in the car was already moded from a previous Power FC install...it was really easy for me to fit mine in.

I hope to have the engine in the car this weekend and start putting all the bits and pieces back on and wiring the thing up. Im trying to get the car up and tuned. The rebuild broke in and ready for a few events this year. I plan on doing alot of circuit work this year.

Speaking of which im getting ready to rent Summit Point raceway either in May or August...whose interested in a Time Attack/Drift Day.

I'm converting the scooter to propane

And I can start that moped just fine, since I bent the pedals back to where they should be (Yay propane torch)

You sure you had correct pressure in the tires?

about 35 PSI. i hit a dirt patch taking the turn and slid...then hit nonmoving road with cold tires. they gripped but car over extended and pulled the tire from the rim. still had to drive another 100 feet to park so the tire bead is completely off and i need to get it remounted.

told you the propane torch would work.

I'll take the tow truck out. I think I'd flip the pickup and none of my RX-7's run. I haven't even changed the oil in any of my OWN vehicles since the middle of summer.

god damn i got expensive sized tires

$150 bucks plus tax for a single tire. my old one DID pop because of 3 nails that embeded almost in the sidewall durring my skid. then being compressed due to being flat for 10 hours showed off that the tire is starting to dryrot. so i spent 2 HOURS just to get a single tire replaced (and it wasnt even on the car) so now i got a really nice pirelli four season tire on ONE drive wheel and another ready-to-go tire on the other.

I don't like kumhos and 245s are both too big and too small.

Details? I'm not interested in drifting my Vette but I wouldn't mind putting it through some laps. I haven't been there since my last track day with my bike in 05.
