The kind of class where you can see a 3200lb car with 400hp run low 10's with no power adder, on a 10 inch wide tire. The whole point is to be able to tune your suspension to make it do what you want it to do. Bumper dragging makes good video but going up wastes time that should be spent going forward.

There's nothing stupid about tuning your suspension properly to make it do what you want it to do.

Look at a Buick Grand National GNX... I believe that had some sort of setup to make the rear push down under hard acceleration.

You use the twist of the axle/driveshaft to compress the rear end as well as a stiff as hell rear suspension, I'd think.

Well, Ryan's car has 10-way adjustable coil-overs on the front of his car. If you set it on 10, the car would probably land on the trunk. To keep the front end down (meaning only going 1-2 ft in the air) I think he sets them on 1 or 2.

There is also the rear coil-overs to deal with, tire pressure, running with or without tubes depending on the track, the length of the burnout, launch RPM (somewhere around 7500k rpm on a two step and dumping the clutch)... stuff like that.

The rear actually goes up when these cars launch, so it plants the tires pretty well. If the rear were to squat (like an IRS car) it wouldn't plant as well. I believe Ryan's 60' time for the pass in the video was around 1.45 with the REAR tires breaking the beam. My car with the previous owner has gone 1.35 keeping the front down. I don't plan on abusing my rear bumper any time soon

OPS dog... Outlaw pro street. heh finally figured that one out.

Check out the latest episode of muscle car on horsepower tv They explain the geometry and mechanics of back halfing and adding a 4-link to a car (mustang actually) to reduce the chances of the car going up in the front

http://horsepowertv.com/sites/muscle...&ep_m=November

I heard their episodes are on their website now, but I can't find it.

Anyone who needs cars moved anywhere, the Mazda pickup is tuckered out. I will no longer be towing with it, as it wasn't all that safe to do anyhow. (Though I've only had it jackknife on me once...) The trailer is going byebye soon.

In other news, if anyone sees a Ford Ambulance in Crazy Rays, let me know. I need some parts.

What would I do with that Ford engine? I already have a bigger one that doesn't need gasoline.

Trailer sale pending to BigPimpin' via PM.

Anyone local have an extra S5 NA pressure sensor?

I went to all 3 crazy rays locations today and there are currently no FCs.
The Jessup location has 3 FBs though, all the way in the back right corner.

anybody want my Vonage account? i Dont need it anymore so I got the box and an account already set up available to anyone who wants it. I can transfer the account over to you. currently its $18.77 a month for Residential Basic plan of 500 outgoing minutes a month.

The box is a D-Link standalone box. Just needs DHCP that links it to the internet and its good
to go. no configuration on the box.

So I just got back from the Mt.Airy Crazy Rays, off of Rt70 near Frederick.

I found 4 FCs there, 3 series4 and 1 series5. I also spotted one FB but didn't get a close look at it.

The red S5 vert still has the engine and manifolds, but no injectors, alternator and the radiator is cracked. The front end is also damaged and the bumper is half missing. I got the pressure sensor from this. The manifolds are on the drivers seat, the throttle body is rusty. It's an automatic.

The red S4 vert is in great shape. The top is torn on the passenger side, the interior is mostly intact and very clean. The front end is perfect, 3 of the 4 vert wheels are on it, in very good shape. I didn't see the 4th, it may have been near it, under it or not there. The aluminum hood is gone (in my garage).

There's also a silver S4 GXL with a bent hood and no seats. But it has an NA limited slip differential under it. I crawled under there to verify, it even still has the LSD oil only tag.

I think the engines are all still there, some are just missing alternators. It looks like the red S4 vert has a brand new water pump housing, still shiny. There's also a few sets of 5-lug and 4-pot brake conversion parts there. All of the FCs are near the back, within the last 10 rows. It looks like the Megasquirt guys already found a few of them, ECU parts laying in the passenger floor.

Negative. We don't usually go to the Mt. Airy location.
