Personally, never was a fan of those hatches. Those are obviously very polarizing so you will shortly receive the exact opposite opinion. Do whatever you think looks best!

I like the mariah hatch on that widebody. Not sure it actually helps on the areo, I suspect it
distrurbs the air flow over the roof and creates vacuum or swirl behind the glass.
I've always kind of liked em but wished they didn't cover the back side windows and just did
the straight rear window that can be opened. Not sure if anyone has done that.

Drove it home. I haven't driven the car for close to a year. (No 9" in it yet, I bought another Kia pumpkin so I could plug in my two remaining axles, which are heinously twisted, just so I could have a car to drive since my Volvo is in bodyshop "suck credit dry" mode)
Deliberately drove at neutral throttle a lot on the highway for brap action. Also did a lot of accelerating in too high of a gear in city traffic just for the ITB intake bwuuuuuuh. I don't think I went over 2000rpm once after I got off the highway
Definitely more enjoyable sounds than the Volvo's whistle and occasional muted pushhhh as the turbo's internal bypass wastes all the boost that I built up.
The VW, with its Russian Tank grade turbo (KKK K26!) is going to run 20-22lb boost and will have no such effeminete girly-car things like bypass or blowoff valves. It will have manly turbo chattle and compressor surge giggle.

Thanks. It's been a long time coming to get it running. Between money, school, work and life, it had been too long since I heard that beautiful brap. Need to get an exhaust system, it's open headers now and the neighborhood is not appreciating the brap as much as I do.
