Got the car pretty much ready for its first coat of primer

Little view of the wheel fitment with no wide fender, haha.

Shot of the titanium aircraft nutserts installed that will hold the fenders.

Dougingraham,

I recently resealed both of my tail lights. chipped out all of the 30 year old glue and used black silicone to seal it up. clamped the lenses to the housings for approx. 5 or 6 hours and then placed them back on the car. Worked very well

What rx7's were meant to do. And I do need to put in the stiffer springs.

The other day, I got her ready for a move. Put the heat shield back on and then swapped my Bride racing bucket back in. Bought a house in a neighboring city, so she's going to have a bigger space at the end of the month.

Is the whole family moving, or just that beautiful car?

All of us. House will probably will take away from my car time but I'll figure out how to get more quality time with her.

That's awesome! Loved watching it. I found myself leaning as I watched you entering turns, and my foot pressing down on an imaginary brake pedal!!

Was that a bit of brake squeal and what was bottoming out in the corners? Exhaust?

Yes, a little brake squeal, the bottoming crunch is the plastic tabs of the fender liners on the tires. It sounds horrible, but isn't too bad really.
That said, it's time to retire the stock springs. I've had a set of new lowering springs on the shelf for 3 years, now I have motivation.

I saw the first 5 seconds and stopped...something about crossing the double yellow lines just annoys me.

I try not to preach at anyone because we have all done it at some point in the past but as an avid motorcycle rider, I felt the same way as you.

Car has been getting progressively more difficult to start. Wondered if my battery just wasn't up to to the task, but swapping it for a known good full-sized battery yielded slow cranking. I need to get the car out of the garage and to the new place this week. Troubleshooting the car was not something I was planning to do.

After fussing with the switches in the dash, I figured out my ground wasn't sufficient. I guess when I did the battery relocation, I didn't hook the ground up to the starter (that wiring is now gone). It was OK with fresh battery cables and battery...started fine. But the negative battery cable now has verdigris (copper corrosion) on it and it's not providing a sufficient ground. I ran an 8-gauge wire from the battery to the block and now the starter cranks like nobody's business.

I could have punted and burned a AAA free tow, but that's not the entrance I envisioned the car making to it's new digs.

Woo hoo! I passed California smog! Road-legal for another two more years until California makes more stupid laws that further hinder us from keeping our rotaries on the road...

I had to buy a new 50-state legal catalytic converter and toss away my perfectly working Bonez unit because that one is not 50-state legal... even though it was passing the sniffer test. Dropped 350 on a new cat with flanges so I can remove it if I want. Just barely got away with visual test because of the confusion with PC-2 (2-cat system) label on the CARB EO table and then in another manual it says the car should have one cat. Also the emissions sticker under the hood says only one cat, even though the car originally came with two and a half cats.. pre-collector, primary cat, and then the big-*** main cat. So effing confusing, but I got through it. Thanks for making pointless laws Cali... even though the car was around way before these laws even went into effect. /rant

I don't envy what you guys have to do in CA. I'm mad enough that I can't get a header-back exhaust living here in CO, but the again my bone-stock car passed emissions easily. I'm not pro-pollution by any means, but the emissions laws are completely ridiculous. These cars are all 30+ years old now. There are so few cars this age on the road anymore, who cares? Meanwhile diesel trucks are constantly blowing out black smoke here. I totally hear you man, I'm just glad I don't have to deal with it in CO.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who didn't "permanently" mount the rear flares.

Never understood why race cars had molded fenders...a bump and that would crack...the way we have it installed, simply pop the fender off and install the new one.
