I have been very dissapointed in the RX-8s featured in RX Tuner, I even wrote Ryan about getting featured but no response. I think we should do a write up of some of our events like GRR 05 and our cars and send them in.

I have a feeling that RX7 is like a good ol' boys mag. if they don't know you, you don't get in. Just a feeling, but why else would they have those ragged rides in there?

It's not quite fixed yet, I've just finally got the money together to get it done. I talked to my bud the body man, and it seems that he actually won't be able to fix it until spring. Bummer. On a more positive note though, he would do it for about $400.

The estimates I got from others were between $750-1600. I think I can wait a couple more months, and shift my focus back to the GSL-SE for a little while before then.

i got my car yesterday. finally... it cleaned up well. lil unflooding got it started up but she's got a bad case of the floods... i think leaky injectors but we'll see. few vacuum lines to go over/replace and some brake work and i can probably drive it. have to put about half of the interior back together too. sounds pretty sweet with no mufflers and a greddy type s on it.... im shooting for less than 7.7 in the 1/8 for a family grudge match. i gotta sell the AE86 and then the mods will flow, i hope. just have to wait and see what happends with this 90K mile TII.

Well, I now have most of my parts in for my FC, I got my HKS SSQV and got my custom made HKS Intercooler yesterday. Today I should get my turbo timer and Boost controler plus HKS downpipe. I got the rest of the stuff on Friday. Now I just have to wait on my Turbo, wastegate, and manifolds from rotorsports, then it will all come together. At least in the engine department.

I think for RX Tuner that you have to take the pictures and do the write up and send everything in. They read it if they like it, they'll use it. I'm like a lot of y'all I really can't determine the criteria they use to select the cars they feature unless it is something unique about the mods or a good story about how the car was acquired, or its history. While rice is frowned upon in RX circles it is still fairly prevalent if you read the some of the discussions on this site and must still appeal to some of the RX Tuner readers.

But I think that we have some very nice cars that are very competitive with what has been featured so far, we need to figure out what approach to take and how to do the write up that emphasizes something unique about the car or what has been done to it.

I personally think that my hot tub mod to my car will be a unique story and mod that will get some magazine editors excited and set a whole new trend in RX7 mods. Can't wait for the Corksport hot tub, or the Greddy water pump and recirculating heater and exhaust system, or how about the Tien rear suspension kit for hot tub 7s.

Well, my RX-8 is unique in many ways, ie. 1 of 3 in the US with this body kit, 1 of 2 with nitrous, etc. and I would love to get it featured.

I have lowering springs on the way. I need new shocks though but I had to put that project aside to get the nitrous, so suspension may happen this summer if i can get a good job. I'm still waiting for the kit... and the guy hasn't responded to my emails yet. I really hope I don't get screwed over on this thing.

I opened up my HKS intercooler lastnight. That thing is SMALL. The pipes are small, and they are steel, not aluminum (sp?). The pipeing connectors don't look great so I will probally replace them. Funnything is the intercooler had a Toyo Intercooler logo on the bottom of it. My manifgold should be ready within the next few days, so it will all be coming together soon. I will start installing my new radiator and my intercooler tonight, I am also going to remove the AC condensor and heatercore.

I haven't done one, I have got a car show Sunday at the Greensboro Coliseum, I'll take some photos there and do a write up and send it in. Burlington is going to have a crazy weekend. Drop Jaw Magazine is stopping here for its Winter Cruise bringing with it a good 300 cars or more on Saturday and then the show is on Sunday in Greensboro.

On campus today I met a guy with the cleanest SA I've ever seen personally. He is the original owner of a brown 1979 with 180k on the body and 30k on the engine which he actually bought back in 79 for $7k. It appears to be stock except for a new headunit and some aftermarket wheels. For a car that old the paint was very nice and the body looked really sharp. He said he keeps it in the garage and only drives it on nice days. I talked to him for a couple minutes and told him about the driveins and rx7club.com . Hopefully he will sign up and start posting here.

Rotorsports does do cryo treatment along with ceramic coatings, $449 and another $200 for coatings.
Anybody think they will be at the show in Greensboro on Sunday? Started puting in my HKS front mount Intercooler last night. I got the front bumper off, all the stuff out of the way. Tonight I am going to finish removing the AC condensor and finish mounting the Intercooler and my new radiator. I'd like to say that niether the HAynes manual, Factory Mazda manual, or HKS instructions were very helpful at all. I should be gewtting my intake manifolds back from Rotorsports within today or tomorrow and will be able to start putting everything back on to the engine.
