What? are you crazy? You think we'd have a drive-in in 60 degree weather? If it ain't snowing, sleeting, or a hurricane is approaching then where's the challenge? Next weekend it'll be snowing and freezing rain again, then we can schedule a meet up.

Whats up guys

I don't have much progress to report, I ordered new intake gaskets, but they didn't come in, so Im still in pieces. I haven't talked (bothered) my painter this week I hope to be pleasntly suprised .

I will talk to the tee shirt guy again this week, I won't be at this weeks meet as my Mom and Dad have been married 50 Years and have a party to attend.
Can you believe 50 years? I may make 50 times but not 50 years Hahaha.

Since i'm rambling how come we haven't heard from Ashraf lately? I kinda (not really) miss the old guy. I know he would have something to say about my and josh's project, and T.O and Ray he'd have a field day, 700 hp and Nitrous. HA.

Have to mention Bert wouldn't want to hurt your feelings. There have been a few people selling short shifters Id go this route rather than replacing bushings.

Red Blast 12 a in the 1st gen section some one let her know,
Johny

I talked to Ashraf yesterday. I talked to him about my project and he came to the same conclusion as me a 74mm turbo is WAYYYYYY to big to be functional on a street driven FD. He told me to go watercooled, or to install a HUGE oil cooler; something I hadn't thought about.

Congrats to your Mom and Dad!

Get to work on the project! One of us has to finish. Mine has bogged down. I hope to get some work accomplished today, but it is my little bro's b-day. So, I am still just crossing my fingers for the end of the month

Don't forget your brake fluid Josh! Your brake fluid is not supposed to match the color of your car, just for your information.....

Could it be a place on Germantown Road?, near Kenny Hawkins Automotive bodyshop, I worked there last summer. I think they are mainly mustang and ford dudes but I think they have a chassis dyno? Carl

I like going to a place in downtown Durham, they have an in floor mustang dyno. Thats where i got my car tuned. The guy dosn't really know anything about 7's, so he just lel me tune it. All he did was run the machine. He charges $120 an hour. I will get you his # later on.

The place Josh was speaking of is Eurospeed. I was there when Ray and Rick got there cars dyno'd, i was unimpressed to say the least. I would never take my car there. Most of there work is done on Honda's anyways.

Hey Y'all, I'm working this weekend but thought I'd say hello. Johny you telling us that you can't make the next drive-in? Speaking of the GRR shirts, do you have a list of the guys that ordered and paid already and their sizes? I still have the sign up sheets from the GRR I can give you a run down and PM you if you need that info. We are going to get them in time for the Deals Gap event? It would be nice to have them up there and also for the down east meeting with the NC eastern rotary owners. Let me know if I can do anything to help. I did hear that you were gonna let everyone stay at your place for VIR's Mazda Drivers event, is that still good?

Are you gonna have that TII back together for the next drive-in you make?

Andy, you're still around, you're gonna have to make it out to the drive-ins soon, we've all forgotten what an FD looks like. Everybody except Rick has theirs down for rebuilding or major mods and all we have show up are the FCs. Glad to know you're still out there, is the FD doing OK?

Hey guys, I know its just a consideration at this point BUT... I was thinking, what if I don't put another 12A in Lucy, and I put a TII in her. I was thinking if I sell Ricky, my other 7, that might be enough to help fund a TII swap. What do you guys think? Its quite possible that I'm being irrational about this because I really want Lucy to run, I don't know. I was hoping that you guys that are more experienced and knowledged with TIIs and 2nd gens could give me some advice. Thanks

Haha thanks Josh. Do you think its a logical decision though? I don't know how much a swap like this usually ends up costing.

Hi Bert,

Yes, I am still around and doing well. It's indeed been a while since I stop by the drive in.
My FD is doing well. I've been gather parts since last July to give it an extreme make over inside and out and all parts are finally here so work shall begin soon. It will be covert into single turbo along with all other necessary upgrade to adapt this major change. Brake, suspesions, wheels, body kit and electronics will all change too. I estimate it will take about 3-4 months before it is complete so if everything goes smoothly, I will make sure to stop by one of the meeting after everything is done.
Look forward to see you guys soon.

Andy

Josh,

Eurospeed does suck. I kinda regret sending my car there. It was overpriced. The tuning was fine but their numbers are way off and I didn't like the owner. When I get my car dyno tuned again with the nitrous and new injectors I'll go to the place Steve recommends most likely. There is also a place off E. Chatham Street in Cary, maybe five minutes from Eurospeed, called Haywood's. Jeremy brought his car there and he liked the people much more.

I should have known they would suck when Phantasm recommended them to me one time when Jeremy and I stopped by there...

Oh and Lauren, I think a T2 swap would be pretty hot. The parts would be easy to find. Steve may have some of the stuff lying around and you could get the rest used off the board. Would you be building the motor yourself? You could try to buy a Jspec one off someone. You'd have a pretty crazy power-to-weight-ratio if you did a T2 swap. The question is, can you endure such a long project?

Thought I should ask this now since my car will probably be on the road again within the month. Any of you guys with a PFC, mine is just sitting on the floor on the passenger side. What would you recommend to get it off the ground and make it look good as it looks pretty bad just sitting there and all the wires exposed.

Well, I've been doing a lot of research on doing a TII swap into a FB and it is a little overwhelming to take in (at this point, anyways.) If I do decide to do a swap, I'd have to wait til summer, May at the earliest, to start. I'd really like to do everything myself but somethings I need (i.e. certain tools) I'm just not accessible to. First things first is, I need to find an engine. I'll probably find one that is decent in price and rebuild it. As far as parts go, I would most definitely go to Steve for that. I know I'd need a new tranny as well, which I'd also want to rebuild.
I know right now, I have a loooooot of research and planning to do, but I think, if I can pull it off, it would be so awesome. I just hope I find a way to make it work.
