Thats the way I went, as I didn't like the downfalls of the FMIC and SMIC only have so much potential and get heat soaked. Lucky for me none of the brackets in the kit fit on my car so all them had to be custom fabricated . The instructions that come with the kit are basically useless but it is all pretty much common sense, just be prepared for stuff not to fit perfectly without custom fabrication.

So Rob is your car running now? Are you ever going to drive it to a meet?

No, it isn't running yet. Just misc. stuff needs to be done though, nothing major left to do. I will drive it to a meet as soon as it is up and running. I have had a lot of scheduling conflicts in the past 6 months or so, so I have only been able to make a couple MSCCNC meetings and no Raleigh drive-ins, hopefully that will change soon.

hey so, im thinking about selling the car as soon as title gets back...the more and more i think about, the more i realize that i just dont have the time to pour into this thing. money isnt really an object, but with my job and lack of garage space, i just think it would be better to let it go to someone who could better appreciate it.

so with that said,
1994 white rx-7 with 90k miles, all vaccum hoses have been replaced, hks turbo timer, boost and a/f guage, racing beat exhaust, 5 speed and sunroof, aftermarket CD player...

looking for 12500...lemme know if interested...

hey there guys, i'm coming to the meet to hang out with you people saturday.

I have a 88 turbo vert, like i have said before, but i really need someone to help me hook my factory gauges up. The water, oil, and boost gauges doesn't work, but i think they were just never hooked up, and i have new sensors for the water temp sending unit and oil pressure sending unit, which i already put in.

How much would anyone charge me to hook them up, if possible?
Please let me know!

It is a good kit but like most "kits" there are going to be fitment problems with individual cars, both the Rotary Extreme VMIC and the Aspectuning GT35R kit I got had several areas that had to be addressed. Who knows you might be lucky and it might bolt up in no time at all and then you would just need to get some custom piping to go from the IC to the turbo. If you would like me to go more in depth just send me a PM.

You are right, I was thinking about with a single turbo setup. If you decide to keep the car, ask yourself a couple questions such as:

1)Are you going to retain the stock twin turbos?
2)What are you future plans for the car?

If you are going to be keeping the stock twins and are going to be using the car mostly for street driving then I would suggest to go with a SMIC as it would be plenty for that application and a lot less expensive. If you plan on going to a single turbo at a later date and wish to track the car as well in the future I would go with the VMIC.

Bleh. 10k is an insult for a good condition FD. Unless you really need the cash, I'd hold tight to your 12500 price. Someone is going to look for an FD and I really don't know of any other good running ones in the area. You just may need to be patient for a seller to come into the area and look for FDs.

Heck, if I were you I'd post the price at 14k and settle for 12k.

well, i was going to do the BNR stage 3 non-squential.

i mean i like the thought of a smic and all but the cooling capabilities of the vmount kit just look so much better...i really dunno what im gonna do. im prolly just gonna keep it and start modding it and if someone wants to buy it off of me bad enough then they can...lol...its just sexy and has so many possibilities...im gonna go check on it today and see whats up...

I would definitely come out but as usual I have a conflict. Flying out to Atlanta today to visit my g/f's family (couldn't pass up a free plane ticket). Hope everyone has fun at the meet.

See Y'all 2night

I will be at the Char Grill tonight, can't wait to meet everyone. I'll be driving a Faster Than the Speed of Light Black 89 GTU. Can anyone give me directions to the Char Grill? Don't think I can remember where its at.

Sounds like a lot of good things been happenin' since my last Drive-In. Are we having a Sunday drive tomorrow? I'll go check the RRDI site to see what's happenin' there.

Oh, I got some info on an FD that has been sitting in a garage for several years and now the owner wants to sell it. Dan, my son that was up at Holiday Laps with us in December, has the contact thru a friend or a co-worker that owns the car. The story is while it was garaged some mice got to the wiring and shorted out the computer. It will probably need a whole new wiring harness and computer. He thinks the car has less than 90K miles on it so it should have the original engine that was running strong before storage. The owner is wanting around $7.000 for the car as is. I don't have anymore info on it but will try to get pics and more details on the car. If we had a place to store it, it would make a great project car for the RRDI, and we all could buy shares in it.

Hey guys,
I'm not a regular attendy of the meets unfortunately but I still wanted to throw this out to you guys to see if you'd be interested. It'd be great to get a crew together to go down and watch. http://www.classicmotorsports.net/mitty.php
BTW they will have a 787B there and will be running it on the track.
