State Farm, too.
I have $0 on comp/$500 collision on both my cars, IIRC.
Clean record since I got my license.

Farm Bureau was the cheapest I could get to insure my house, I will probably switch the cars to them because they were the same as State Farm.

The only way I'm going to reduce my insurance any more is to get married or get old.

Speaking of insurance...
Just so y'all know, you are more or less not covered when you are on track...in other words, your hands/feet/brain are your insurance.

Don't ask your agent unless you call from a phone booth as Mr. John Doe...that can get you dropped quicker than you can say oh-$hit. Geico, IIRC, does cover DE events for the NC policies they underwrite (about 2 years ago when I heard this), but at what extra cost and inconvenience.

Well I considered getting rid of the kids instead but figured that was probaly not a good idea, you know their kinda cute, plus the ex might get a wee bit upset.

Ashraf, can you put the seat in the FB? Any idea where to get some? My bins are in pretty sorry shape any way and it would be great being able to take both kids along. Anybody have a line on a power mirror for a gslse?

OH yeah, and he will also tell you that he has a couple more rx-7's with bad fuel pumps. I would be careful, this guy seems really shady....

Yeah, that seems like the guy. He said he has a GXL as well.

His gf lives down in Troy. It's a black car, and yeah, he's foreign. Oh yeah, it has 146,000 miles.

Hrm, how do you know of him?

Are you asking if I can install them? Sure.

Check this out to see a picture of them (it has already ended, so you won't be able to buy them):

They are rare. You'll have to hunt for them.

yeah- im still alive- internet was down for a minute so i had to lay low. also- the red T2 is alive too!!! we drove the beast today. brought it back in for some tranny noise and spongy brakes. tranny noise fixed with a lil fluid and the brakes were being bled when the master cylinder failed. good thing i've got 2 more- they better be good. hmm.. what else is left... good cleanin, a few ins and outs on the interior, AC charged, new brakes and a few miles on everything and she'll be a street terror that she once was again, but lil more hp thanks to my J-spec motor and "high flow" cats.man, that car was nothin on monday but a rollin chassis basicly. i wasnt expecting it to take this much time, but then again, i wasnt expecting to have to pull the subframe and put in a new diff mount, take apart both of my cars to find one good mount, get everything in the interior working perfect, or to see the sunroof ever work again. this car is comin around! i know someone has 2500 for this car. we sat back and looked at it today while it was sitting and it looked a whole lot better than we first thought. i dunno what we're gonna do when its cleaned up. one of us will prolly end up buyin the other out of the car. haha! its sweet- anyone interested should really check it out.

MaxDuo- we've got the car for you but a lil info on the famous milan opatha-

like i said in the other thread, he will rip you. he's a scam... for some reason this is really pissin me off. maybe because he told me he was gonna hold that car for me a less than a week ago, hmmm... wonder how that goes. he's also got a red FC T2 he wants like 1000$ for, "needs a fuel pump". for some reason thats really fishy considering that he's got 2 other cars with bad fuel pumps. i dunno about y'all but i never knew that fuel pumps were a major FC problem. i dont think you trip over 3 cars in need of one by coinsidence. he was suposed to be giving me n steve his 91 vert for t2 conversion about a week ago. he drug it out until i finally kinda fliped on him and he gave me some BS about how he was in money trouble and couldnt afford to do it to the car. o well, im gonna go check up on all my lost threads that i havent seen in a week or so.

sorry if i sounded really pissed- long day and night for me... hopefully tomorow will be better and the red T2 will be, big word here- DONE! hmm.. hopes n dreams, haha. l8er!

**** I typed a long message and clicked reset when leaving an IM, lost it all.

Well, I'm interested in that T2 Already PMed Smoken about it some... Wanna try to check it out as soon as finished hah

Yes, sounds sucky, the stuff with Milan. He already confuses me from his phone talk ability. Also interesting about holding it.. He told me no one else had shown any interest. At the same time... REminds me... In the past I had reached a deal with someone.... To buy their 10AE.... But since it was a bit late and on the weekend, we were gonna have to wait 4 days (get another good break from classes to get over there) to pay and pickup. 3 days later... I'm told it's being held for someone who offered more, blah.

I need an end to my failed attempts at buying 7s story hah hah.

Ashraf,
Wasn't asking if you in particular just if it was possible, I had never heard of it before and did not know if I would have to convert 2nd gen seats or what. I will start looking for a set of them now, thanks for the info.

I have this goal to be single turbo by the end of the summer... but I ran into an unexpected problem so I'm moving my finish date to the end of this year. The guy that wanted the highflow cat was offering up a good deal... and my peter farrell computer, I recently found out, will not handle a single turbo to well. Thats actually the reason for my delay. And dont worry, you guys will probably be one of the first to know about any big things to happen.

lol...hell that isn't bad. 4 people in a Fiero, try that for unsafe.

FD drivers think our cars are too pretty for the track. Talk about deluded. Hey, wait...I am an FD driver.

well remember that time I said I try to never race it on the street?... that part remains true, but I would like to get into some tracking events (non autoX). Honestly, the single turbo is more for simplicity than it is power. I don't know what half those vacuum lines do and I dont like that at all. There only 4, maybe, with a single turbo. I have the diagram so I'll correct myself later if I'm wrong. hehe

Fieros run just fine on the track (heck, I think, and have seen just about any sporty car run great on the track) and they are "interesting" to drive since they are in the mid-engine category.

Now, the fact that you think ALL your cars are too pretty for rain/track/pollen season is why you'll never see track time...the sight of that first rubber smudge on your bumper and you will freak out.

I also forgot that the sight of the final "receipt" for a weekend is pretty frightening, especially with premium hovering around $2.00 a gallon and getting 5mpg on the track when you "know what you are doing".

Sorry to barge in on you guys here,
I am going to NC in the beginning of August. 2-20.

Do you guys meet up every saturday? How many FD's show up? FC's?

My girl and I are thinking of moving there to our place in Saluda.( I have a single FD and she has a FC, soon to be supercharged)

I would love to meet up with some of you all while we are in town. We are both rotor freaks!

I see that the taco bell seems to be the spot to start out. Is there Only 1 TB in Raleigh?
It's been about 13 years since i have been in NC.

Just remembered that Raleigh is almost across the state from where i will be. Oh well road trip i guess

That is the wrong reason for a single conversion, especially if your car is running right. The stock sequential system is simple once you understand it.

You don't need more horsepower on a track. You need less [insert story/video about me running down Corvette/Viper/FD in 125fwhp Miata in the twisties only to have them stomp on the gas in the straight].

Go learn the vacuum diagram. Good training for want to be engineers. I learned it and I'm not an engineer. All you need to do is have it re-hosed with silicone lines and you'll have a reliable car.

See above...if you are struggling to keep the car together now, you are in for a world of hurt when you start to track a car putting out more than stock horsepower levels. I had a great time laughing at all the poorly engineered upgraded cars that broke at track events while my car with a downpipe+catback never missed a session. All "those guys" seem to blow engines way more often than they should and have overheating problems with an FMIC, which is a PITA to get to work in road-racing. I'm going to be joining the modified club, but that's after over 4 years of owning a FD and tracking it and learning what does and doesn't work and how to avoid all those pitfalls by doing things right beforehand.

There is no reason why the PFS computer can't run a single turbo with the proper tuning and installation, but since there are more PFC equipped single cars, I guess you are going to go where you have the most support on this forum. I'd be more concerned about where you have more support from the dyno operator/tuner close to you than on this forum.

I don't typically like getting into this type of argument, but you are a very "track oriented" person while I am not. You may be able to give me reasons why I should and shouldn't go single but I simply think that doing what I'm planning on doing is in my best interest for the future. When I said that "I don't know what half of those vacuum lines do" I meant it, but I know that it isn't that difficult to look them up and figure it out. Every time I've needed my manifold off I've snapped some stupid little part... and it keeps happening. I'm not willing to throw down money for a vac. job, even if its just my own labor and money when it could be invested more wisely. I bet you that when I'm finished and I let you drive my car up at VIR some time, you'll be able to pass yourself if you were driving your own miata. I do not have ANY of the experience that you do and I would love to learn sometime.

Thats all! Excuse my bitching

Big Island. Like, Brent said, there are a lot of taco bells. Where we meet is fairly easy to get to from 440/Beltline if you are even remotely familiar with Raleigh.

Saluda is a long distance from Raleigh(~4-5 Hours). I hate to give a possible new member up, but the Charlotte guys would be a lot closer to you, probably about an hour.

If/when you are in town, come check us out, though. I think we meet on a more regular basis, than the folks in Charlotte. In August we'll be having a meet on the 14th. We meet at Char-Grill at 9601 Strickland Road. If you let me know exactly where you will be coming from, I will give you specific directions.

Thanks for the interest and hope to see you at one of the August meets. It is good to meet people who love their 7's.

On a separate subject, I would love to track a car, but if I do I am gonna buy a car specifically for that purpose. No point in ruining a nice car when I can beat up a $3000-4000 Miata. Especially, while I am learning.

Taylor, I think, Ashraf was just offering that advice because you mentioned you wanted to track the car. When he read that he assumed that you are gonna be hardcore like him. Ashraf eat, drinks, and breathes VIR and I think I'd hate to pit myself against him on the track. His suggestions will always be leaned towards taking you towards the ultimate track car. I remember him having a similar conversation with Shawn about single turbos and FMICs at Mazda club meeting a couple of months back.

Listen to me I sound like some kind of mediator; I must be starting to think I am important.
