Saturdays In Raleigh, Nc
and my post disappeared.... cant wait to see your car again taylor. anyone who didnt meet the silver FD owner- his name is jared. i met him yesterday in durham and he said he'd like to ride out so i brought him. i think that he was expecting a little more 3rd gens but i talked to him later last night and he said he was probably interested in another meet.
tell him that normally we have a good representation of 3rd gens. we all just decided to work on them at the same time or just not show up period.

July 24th Drive-In
Great turnout at the Char Grill on Strickland last Saturday. It got off to a slow start thanks to the weather and confusion about the meeting location. My fault on the confusion. My apologies to Andy and anyone else that missed the meeting. Everybody finally ended up at the Char Grill on Strickland by about 7:45 and we had a blast. Total of 13 rotary machines present, 8 FCs, 3 FDs, and 2 RX8s. Way to go Charlies. For the first time we actually had two female rotary owners present at the meeting, an FC owner and an RX8 owner. Didn't I say somewhere above that only the hottest women own and drive rotaries, well I was right. Also another highlight was the number of first time drivers. As at the last drive-in about half the people were first timers but I won't attempt to list the names and their rides today. I'll post the pics tonight before 7:00 pm and y'all can see who was there.
I'd really appreciate it if the new people would add a post after the pics are posted to help all us associate your name with your face and with your 7.
Oh yeah, Dave did bring the red TII with him and it is a nice FC.
I was in Charlotte all day Sunday so I didn't have time to post any pics yet but will post them tonight.

Remind me to thank all you FD owners for staying away Saturday so us FC'ers could shine. Didn't want to say this but we shine even brighter when the FDs are there to provide some contrast. Sorry you couldn't make it Saturday. If I'd left it all alone and not tried to switch locations due to the threat of rain Andy would've made the drive-in.
If you and Matt had been there and Andy, Taylor and Josh had made it with their FDs we would have had an impressive showing. Ah, well, that's still something we can all anticipate happening.

one day the planets will align and the whole group will be out there, dominating the parking lot. also if we can get our Fayettenam guys and the Gboro crew, we would be short on space.
who was the owner of the silver FD again? Jared? i didnt get to talk to him too much. what did he have done?
on a positive note, my seven is back up and running. so as long as i dont get the itch to mod again, i will be at the august meet. well at least i will stay away from the engine; i am gonna refresh the brakes soon.

Pictures from Saturday's Drive-In
Here are the pics from Saturday's drive-In. Sorry it took so long but I had to do some editing to get them to load fairly quickly:
1. I call this 7s as far as the eye can see, what are the cosmic consequences of so many 7s concentrated in one small parking lot? We know they repel rain!

2. The largest group of 7 owners and admirers in the history of Raleigh:

3. I call this one Jaws 7, a TII will sneak up and take a large bite out of your wallet before you know what has hit you

4. The first 7 going topless at a drive-in:

Hope everyone enjoyed the drive-in and enjoyed seeing the pics. I tried to get a shot of everyone. If you will be kind enough to reply and refer to the picture # you are in and give us your name and your car if you drove one to the drive-in it would help us all starting putting the faces and names together. More pics to follow.

More Photos of the 7/24 Raleigh Rotary Drive-In
Here are the rest of the best pics from the drive-in:
5. Jared's thoughts, "too beautiful to behold, is she really mine?" Now the quiz was he refering to his car or his date?

6. Just 5 weeks old, ain't she beautiful?

7. 15 years old, just a teenager, and she's becoming more beautiful everyday:

8. Doc 7 brought his CYM (that's Cuss Your Mama Yellow for the uninitiated) and everybody admired his immaculate little girl:

9. This little baby is only 2 weeks old and is wonder to behold:

10. So many 7s, so little time:

Final shot: We must thank our host, Char Grill for letting us use their parking lot:

Same applies here about letting us put a name, a car and a face together.

That's my vert! I'm so mad I couldn't make it... As yall can tell it is DEFINATELY a work in progress. Kudos to Jon for bringing it up there while I was slicing Deli meat... Hopefully I can make the next meet before I go back to school.
