Bert, you are absolutely right, they are just acronyms for the marketing names. I thought my brilliant black was a good name, but Faster Than the Speed of Light Black is too cool for school.

Lee, we will be patiently waiting your arrival.

Enough with the weather jokes, guys; they are starting to make me cry at night

How lucky is a RDU resident?
1 hr to VIR
5 hrs to Summit Point
4-5hrs to Carolina Motorsports Park
3 hrs to Lowes
5-6? to Roebling Rd
Road Atlanta, Barber, Watkins Glen, BeaveRun about 1/2 day drive...but who needs those other tracks when you have such a world-class facility only 1 hr away (I just drive home for events, save on lodging and food $$ = more track events).

Go on parade laps at the SCCA event. You'll be packing up your stuff and preparing to move out here as soon as you get home.

Unfortunately, the motorsports Mecca is in Charlotte and there's no getting around that. It is also a "younger" crowd and may be better for someone with your talents.

If any of you guys need anything done to a second gen, pm me, cus i would love to make a business out of it. I think my work speaks for itself. I feel comfortable doing just about anything under the hood of an FC.

Raleigh Rotary Drive-In Information

Here are the directions to the Char Grill on Strickland I posted back on 4/30. They should be good for any location since you'll be getting on 540 or 440 to get around Raleigh with the least hassle and traffic:

DIRECTIONS If you are coming from Durham/Chapel Hill and other locations to the west of Raleigh or 540:
-Exit I-40 at the 540 exit and go to the Six Forks exit.
-Go south, to the right, on Six Forks Rd to the Strickland Rd intersection, about a quarter mile, and turn right.
-Char Grill will be on your left a couple hundred yards west of intersection.

DIRECTIONS: if you are coming from eastern NC you can hit the 440 beltline around south Raleigh.
-Go North toward Wake Forest and exit 440 on the Six Forks exit.
-Go north on Six Forks several miles until you pass a Kmart on the left
-Turn left on Strickland Rd at the next traffic light.
-You'll find the Char Grill on the left a hundred yds or so on the left.
Meeting times are 6:30 pm (1830) on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month. The FC guys usually are on time and the FD guys arrive between 7:00 & 7:30, you inow they have to make an entrance an attract all the attention. Hope to see you in Raleigh on Saturday!
If you have any questions or need emergency directions while on your way then my cell phone is 919-247-3884.

By the way what color is your 7?

Bert

Are you going to be at the next drive-in? There is a place called Ronnie White Tires up in Youngsville, just off Capital Blvd that used to be just a Tire Shop and a Towing business. I buy my tires there 'cause of their usually really good deals and he is an honest and very competent mechanic. He has added additional bays to his garage in the last couple of years and now also does auto repair and maintenance. You might want to talk to him concerning bringing your skills to his business and start a speciality focus on rotary engines and autos. I haven't been too impressed on the work his mechanics have done on my wife's car and my other car, so he is in need of some really capable mechanics.

We could all call him and begin asking if he has anyone that can do work on rotary engines before you go see him. You'd get a lot of business, especially if you can get rotary's tuned to pass this state's emissions testing.

Just and idea I had.

Tell us how you really feel.

It shouldn't be long before all our cars will only have to pass safety inspection. That's if all goes well with the lawmakers. I know here in Johnston County we are already there. I suppose that is ne advantage of living out in the sticks.

Also, on a more depressing note, I have a coolant leak to sniff out somewhere near the turbos. I know all the lines I need to check now I just need to get down there and do it. Should be cleared up before the drive-in, this Saturday.

Oh, to touch on a previous subject; since BigIsland would be out in the mountains the times to those tracks would be different. However, we are lucky to have so many tracks around the area. Just, none in Raleigh, DAMMIT!

Then again, it's not that noticeable. But it does mar the very clean part a bit. Very funny though

Yeah that is a nice list of tracks. The times would be closer to reverse almost. I think VIR would be 4-5 for me RA would be like 2-3, and the others I haven't looked up the locations yet

On another note
This is about the most ongoing thread around I think.
( Besides Jimlab's monster thread!) The community is alot more involved with eachother over there it looks like.

I try to get everyone together( on this Island) over here but it is always something you know. And I even supply the BBQ and some freebie parts, like air filters, caliper paint and such.. I guess they don't really know what they have.

We have been fortunate to get a good group of guys together. Hopefully, through word of mouth and shameless promotion we can continue to grow. I see a lot of 7s out there being driven by people I don't know, so we definitely have a lot of potential here in the Triangle.

Oh, and you better have us penciled in on your schedule in August!
