OK. I took one for the team tonight, maybe two.

We are all set for Taco Hack, Mall of Georgia for Tuesday 10/6. We'll park in the Mall parking lot, TM parking lot won't work. They'll be expecting us. I'll be there, but just in case, we are the Rotary Car Club, RX-7 Club, or OGTA. They are supposed to set up for us on the patio, it is in doors. The GM is Matt Pollard. He knows a little about RX-7s and is glad to have us. He is going to get back to me with the discount they can offer.

The best part I am 2 beers closer to my PhD now. Ray you have long ways to go for that second PhD. It takes 325 different beers, but I know you can do it.

 

At least by the time I am an old guy, ill have my PHd........and ray, that's a crazy law, glad Im already 25 :p looks like the weather is gonna stop me anyway so, guess ill try again Tuesday!

Actually Cam I think Obama just kicked the age limit up to 30 last week.

Erica I got the 1st gen IMSA/STU stickers I brought to the last meeting from Glazedham42 (Jamie), send him a pm he may be able to help.

He has a method for reproducing the stickers and may be able to make some of those tacky FC ones.

And 325 different beers gets you a PhD?

Doesn't sound too bad until you learn there are only 267 different beers in the world.

But then, they don't give PhD's to just anybody.

Actually Tommy it's not fuzzy math, it's simple reality.

Something Conservative ideologues have a very hard time with. That's why none of them have PhDs.

But I think I can explain, if you give me a moment.

To start with, 325 - 267 = 58.

That's not fuzzy math, that's simple reality we must live with. Like Global Warming.

So in order to get a PhD in Beer you must first sample all the 267 different beers in the world.

And then brew up 58 more original brews of your own.

Where did this magical 267 number come from? Sam Adams brews like 60 beers themselves. So you're saying Sam Adams makes up like 1/4 of the beers in the world?

Sounds fuzzy to me.

Found online: Worldwide, 20,000 brands of beer are brewed in 180 styles, from ales, lagers, pilsner and stouts to bitters, cream ales and iced beers.

So if every brand made each style - 20k X 180 = 3,600,000 different beers. The "style" of beer will be the same, but no one makes the same beer. Not every IPA is the same, or Pilsner, or Pale ale... etc. And I don't even have a PhD.

 

We're talking styles, not individual products produced by various capitalist beer companies.

There are only 180 commercially distributed styles, but as lex says, these are sold under about 3,600,000 labels, thus maximizing the profits of Capitalists.

But of course as we all know, most of these taste like watered down goat **** and aren't worth drinking. You learn this in Beer 101.

Students in Beer PhD graduate programs have access to the other 87 privately held styles so by the time they take their prelims they're familiar with all the currently available 267 styles.

To get a Beer PhD they need get to work in the lab and create another 58 styles.

I can't believe I am saying this, but Ray is on to something here. I have done math a couple of times on what I have invested in TM and it is an embarrassing number. I could have a couple more rotaries, if I wasn't so close to my PhD in Brewology...

 

I completely agree with that. I usually spend a good $40 every time I go... and that's usually about 3 times a week.

brews never come out the same, each is always unique. Hopefully uniquely good but I'll leave that to

Those PhD degrees that capitalists like TH are handing out for buying their products are worth about as much as the on-line PhD's you buy from for-profit universities - your mom might be impressed but it won't get you a job.

Hey Ray,
The car sold the next day but I was at Autozone on Sunday and saw it parked outside there.
I met the young Airman (he is in the Air Force here) who bought the car. Paid $3200.
Very nice car inside. all original, The gold cad plating on the engine was super nice.
Anyway, he brought it over to the house since he did not have anything going on and we worked on it for awhile.
He said he was having a miss at about 3000 rpm, so I suggested that my experience has been the small cone filter going into the fuel pump gets plugged full of crap and causes the problems.
So I pulled his cone filter and sure enough packed full.
cleaned it out and he said it ran much better and the stumble was gone. Also adjusted his idle upwards to 850. holds a nice idle no surging etc...
I said to him that he has a very nice original car.
Underneath was immaculate and no rust anywhere to be seen.
Front fender has a couple dings and there is small dent by the drivers tail light but otherwise super clean car.
When he saw all my SE's and SA's he started taking pics to send to his friends back home who was into RX7's also.
So, I know the new owner if anyone wants to contact him.
I urged him to join the site.

 

That is one fine unit Dave. I would have snatched it up, even though I hate Tender Blue Metallica.

 

hey guys, i picked up a 10ae saturday from my customer that passed away. It has a high idle of 4k. i found a couple vacuum leaks and fixed those. It still has this high idle. I also tried cleaning the AFM. Could it be the AFM? Anybody have this issue?
