The repu is moving along quite a bit. Dash pad is in. Windows have been tinted. Windshield is on order and will be installed next Saturday. Exedy clutch came in. I dropped off 30 or so parts for sand blasting. Then they are off for powder coat.

Hope to drop the engine in this weekend.

I agree. It's called take responsibility and stop blaming other people/entities. Guns don't kill people, bad people (and some VERY few times ignorance) kill people.

Blaming the NRA, or anyone else for that matter, is a cop-out. I agree, they probably promote the purchase of guns too much. Unfortunately, a large portion of humans are corrupt greedy pieces of crap, but that is all across the spectrum. Regardless, trying to blame them for people's actions is plain ridiculous. I hate McDonald's and "fat America", but do I blame the fast food industry, no. Why? Because people have the choice and capability to do what they want and to make their own choices. People may not always make the "right" choices, but that's their right. Welcome to America.

Onto more productive matters...

The Repu is coming along nicely. I am loving what you did with the dash. I had a similar idea to fix cracked dashes. It looks like you may win this Repu war.

 

1st amendment to the constitution is alive and well how about we keep the 2nd amendment alive and well also

 

Finally, subjects that I have something to say about.

Billy, what is this "Facebook" thing you speak of? Is there somewhere us more socially challenged old guys see the REPU progress? Can't wait to see it.

Concerning guns, I'm not anti-gun. In fact, I have a bunch of guns in the house right now and I've owned guns all my life (and we ain't talking BB guns).

Concerning the NRA, they're a bunch of morally reprehensible *** wipes who have the blood of innocent children on their hands. It's time to call them out.

Anyway, he's up at Fort Campbell now and he's stopping here at the Rotary Inn tomorrow afternoon for a little pit stop and tune up. I'll post specific info when I get it.

Ray, post up the what time Reckless will be at the Rotary Inn. This is a great excuse (reason) to make a trip to Jefferson.

 

Will do, it looks like it would be a great day for a spontaneous OGTA meeting, supposed to be sunny in the 70s. But I haven't heard from him yet today, he may be one of those people who are afraid of goats.

 

Haven't heard from Reckless, the Wandering Hawaiian, he may have had a change of plans. I'll post a note here if a hear otherwise.

 

Here's an update from Reckless at about 1:00 pm today (saturday):

"Thanks for the heads up on the traffic situation, I should be getting into the area around noonish tomorrow. Decided to spend a another day here to catch up with family. See ya guys! "

So it sounds like he'll be here at the Rotary Inn tomorrow afternoon (sunday). Weather forecast is 74 degrees, overcast but with only a 20% chance of rain, so why don't some of you OGTAs stop on by, bring a project, we'll get out the tools and do some wrenching.

 

OK, sounds like a trip to Jefferson tomorrow afternoon. Sounds like it will be warm. I better bring some cool liquid refreshment.

Still no word from Reckless, the guy with the blue FB who is supposed to be stopping by this weekend, but at this point I'm flicking in the plans for a get together at the Rotary Inn today, need to get on with other things.

 

You guys need to get on FB. Dont know if it my computer or not but posting in this thread in advanced mode takes forever to load. Simple quick reply is fast and easy though.

Gearbox all cleaned and painted.
Clutch kit is in.
Did some painting on the metal lower dash.

 

Prepped and dyed the dash parts. I am not a wood grain kind of guy.

 

Crit and I spent a few weekends and repaired our cracked dashes.

 

Made my own cab bushings from a MDF mold and casting polyurethane.

 

You never fail to impress me.

Dash is absolutely beutiful, btw.

Mike I actually get in the afternoon of the 15th. That weekend and that Monday everyone has off at my house.
Do you have any time off that next week (Tuedsay 19 on)?
If not, my guess would be the next weekend, but let me talk to my wife.

 

Greg, wife and family take priority. Weekends are easier for me (2/23, 24), but if we have to we can make it happen during the week.

Talk to you wife and let me know what works for you.
