Hey guys.

It's sad for me to say, but slowly my DD is dying. It's a 2006 BMW 530i and it's gonna need some repairs. I'm gonna try to sell the RX4 shell if anyone is interested. I got it for $600, so I'd like to recoup most of that, but I'm willing to deal, especially with you guys. I just need the money for repairs. I hate that I have to bail on the project, but I still gotta get to work and back.

Anyone interested?

Well, I went on deployment, and left the car to my roommate (first mistake). He ended up killing the starter some how (not exactly sure what happened, never got a solid explanation). So he replaced the starter, and in the process either forgot to re-clip in the crankshaft position sensor, or broke it completely. So the car reverted to a transmission limp home (it's an automatic) and was essentially locked into third gear. So it ended up driving like that for another 3-4 months until I got back. So I got back, replaced the CPS, and now it shifts alright, but I believe the mechtronix (transmission solenoids) are all jacked up now from being stuck in third for so long because it shifts, but it doesn't shift well. Also, it has a rough idle upon start up, but it goes away after a while, along with throwing a lot of VANOS codes at BMW, so I've gotta replace the VANOS seals as well.

So I'm looking like $1500-ish to replace the mechtronix and the VANOS, along with an engine oil and transmission oil change.

Hence why I could use the money.

Anyone heard of a rotary engine rebuilder in the ATL area by the name of Rotary Restorations, or something like that. If you can tell me something about them, send me a PM or email to msimonovich85@gmail.com.

Wow, so far looks like im bringing down an Rx7, a 12a motor, and some REPU parts for billy. Still have room for more items and billy said he can deliver the items at the Tuesday OGTA meet.

Cant wait to see Billy's REPU, and to put some of my touches on it.... Objectum-sexuals

Rotary Resurrection is in eastern Tennessee. He doesn't seem to keen on dealing with 12a motors. He seems to know his stuff though. (Not that my knowledge level is enough to judge such things :-) ) Guys name is Kevin. . . . eastern Tennessee is almost ATL area, isn't it?

That would have been cool to see on sunday but I rolled back home around noon.

Got to look over the PU, we pulled the hood, motor, trans, for some more work.
Billy is going to have the nicest REPU in the USA.

I was planning to go, but didn't finish the SA in time. Looks like a good rotary turnout. RX3 is looking fierce!

Can someone check on the professor? He hasn't posted in this thread in over 10 days and he missed an OGTA meeting last night. I'm worried.
