Oh... I am glad you explained this, Donnie. I feel much better now. I may not know my name, but at least I am not extinct.

The Mayan's dropped the ball on the 12/21/12 thing. Looks like there will be an OGTA meet on 1/1/13.

Now it's off to register for for DGRR. How many OGTAs are going?

I will be there, but am i the only one having trouble registering? I think my browser may be a bit old and is having trouble getting along with the website. I cannot get past the "creating invoice" stage, freezes up.

You're getting Old Robert. When your browser gets so old it can't open links, you're really really Old.

Donnie has it right:

"That's not how it works, Mike. It goes experienced, to more experienced, to really experienced, to who am I? I'd say you're in the more experienced category...that is, if you can still remember who you are, at least most of the time."

I've gone through the cycle so many times that next time I'm being reincarnated as a snail and get to work my way back up.

Merry Christmas all you Christians and Happy Christmas to all you heathens.

And if there are any Mayans in the group, you might want to think about reconsidering your religion.

My secret is simple. I get out in the garage and figure it out. I have jacked stuff up far more than I show

Merry Christmas to all OGTA. See ya on the 1st.

Thumbs up

It does take talent to fit a stock blue air box on a pair of Webers, I have to admit. And it sure did look pretty in that blue car.

Happy New Year OGTA's!

I thought you'd like it Mike. We all need a bit of humor right about now.

Anybody else going to DGRR 2013 besides me?

I plan on making it, but I'm going to hold off on registering until I get my schedules for classes this upcoming semester.

Hey, does anybody know what the registration for DGRR costs and what it entails?

When I clicked on Micheal's link above, I got this weird legalistic mumbo gumbo and then, after reluctantly agreeing, was taken to a page that wants a bunch of personal information, still without telling you what you're getting or what it costs.

That's when I quit, I've already got enough viruses on my computer.

It cost $30.00. Off the top of my head that includes event registration and a T-shirt. It also includes some small give aways such as a lanyard, some dodads and such, and allows you to enter the car show if you are so inclined. There is also the big gathering the last night where they usually give away a ton of rotary related door prizes, award the car show winners etc. You also get a registration code that is required to rent accomodations through Nantahala Village. In the past participants got a good discount on rooms / cabins / chalets at the resort, havent heard that mentioned yet this year. Ive not heard of anyone having virus problems from the website, but as I posted earlier my pc did not get along with it and I had to get online on my mac for it to get past the "create invoice" stage of the process. worked fine with it. It works like a normal online purchase, I paid with paypal w/o any issues. I think its well worth it, lots of old rotorheads and good times. Its like a giant three day OGTA meeting with doorprizes, and of course the Tail of the Dragon, which is optional of course (but very fun).

Ray, I managed to register. How hard can it be? Just give them your bank account number, credit card number and combination to the lock on the goat house.

that link i posted was to the thread phil started about registration. the site for the event registration is the deals gap site: http://www.dealsgaprotaryrally.com/. u will need to register for the deals gap site first, then for the actual event.

Thanks for the info on the DGRR registration guys.

Mike, you may have a point. After all, they didn't ask for my social security number. Still, I'm going to check with my lawyer first.

Happy New Year Dudes! May you prosper in 2013 and find at least one good 12A project.

And let's hope Congress comes to its senses in these last two days of 2012.

(Admittedly an uncertain prospect in a year when Congress hasn't met even its own lowest expectations)

They all need to be fired. Problem is, no matter what happens, those congressional sleazes will still get their salaries and benefits.

But what about the rest of us?

I'm going to do my best to make DGRR but won't know til later. What's the last day to register?

Also, looks like it will be raining tomorrow. If it does not clear up, won't be making OGTA.

I'll be at DGRR,haven't missed a year yet. Also I'll be at Tilted Kilt tonight. Kristy will probably be riding shotgun, since her car is down.

I called Tilted Kilt at Mall of Georgia and they are open until midnight tonight. I'm surprised I haven't seen talk about getting there early tonight. Either way, looks like we'll have to get inside to be out of rain. See ya'll later.
