Hey Phil, can you check on the status of cabins for the event? I booked about one hour after registration opened and then called the resort. Was told all the cabins were already booked. Is this true?

Thanks and looking forward to a great 2013 DGRR

When I reserved my room last week, two cabins were available. I have heard since then that all are booked.

Worse case is that you may have to book somewhere like the Microtel in Bryson City. It's like 5~10 min down the road from the lodge.

^ Yes, that is an option, nut it is really nice to stay on premise if possible. All the action occurs at the resort and just hanging out is fun.

Looks like that is our only option at this point. I don't mind staying at the lodge to hang out until we get tired and drive back to the hotel.

Just called to make reservation and nothing is available at Nantahala. Like Hayes said, staying at the resort was the best because that is where all the action is. Didn't think we were that slow in calling for reservations compared to years past, but I guess we're also now looking for alternatives. Perhaps our event organizers can offer up a list of suggestions in the area to keep our group somewhat intact nearby . . .

The lodge filled up about a week sooner than normal. I would say more sponsors reserved cabins than in years past, and they no longer manage several cabins.

Microtel is one of the closest hotels, and it's clean (at least it was 3~4 years ago).
It's about 5~10 min down the road.

I used the Microtel last year and it was only $59.00 a night and was clean and had a nice spread for breakfast. It really is pretty close and a plus was I had to drive by the gas station each way and I always needed gas

Theres lots of private cabins as well right around the 74/28 intersection.

Correct. We are not allowing anyone who's not registered during any official events. Also, shirts at the event will cost just as much as registering

I went through the motions of registering for the site. I never received a confirmation email, cannot log in, and when I try to re register am told that that username and email are already in use. Asking for resend of confirmation email is also fruitless. I see no means of contacting the administrator, but would love to resolve this and be there as a registered attendee. Any ideas?

It would appear as if you are not the only one, I am also having the same problem.

The problem is we never got the confirmation email to activate our account after registering (I tried this with 2 different e-mail accounts), so trying to log in is fruitless.
